A year ago I was very impressed with Lowcountry Refrigeration (I like to use Johns Island local whenever possible), they were able to come out, diagnose and refill my refrigerant the same day. He was very polite, very thorough. One thing and another kept coming up that prevented me from entering into an HVAC maintenance agreement (let's call it Karma, shall we?). Fast forward a year, my AC quits, so I again call LCR and was so excited that they were able to get to me the following morning! I figured I might as well start a maintenance schedule as well. I specially arranged to work from home, so I could be here for access to the HVAC unit. NO SHOW at the prearranged time between 8:30-10:30 am, NO CALL either...I call them at 10:50, no answer, left message, no return call. I call them AGAIN at 11:30, this time Lindsay answers-they got held up on a call this morning, she'll find out what the updated timeline is and give me a call back...NO call back, no updated time. AGAIN I call them at 12:30, no answer, left ANOTHER message, this pointedly sharing that I had arranged to work from home just for this...NO call back, AGAIN. I make my final call (please notice I am the one doing ALL of the calling) at quarter to 2, Lindsay answers the phone again this time and shares that "the day just got away from them" and that she's "going to have them come by on their way back to the shop and fill [my] refrigerant (which turned out to not even be the issue -see my stellar review for AGL), but that we would have to reschedule for the maintenance service". So...I've made special arrangements for work, I'VE been the one trying to establish what was going on, and THIS was what I ended up with. I told her to tell them to not bother to stop by with refrigerant and forget the maintenance service, I was going with another company. I got NO APOLOGY and she (Lindsay) didn't sound the least bit concerned that (1) the customer had been completely put out and (2) that they had just lost 100s of dollars of business. I guess they're doing well enough that they don't need my business, or that of any people that heed my review (which will be posted on SEVERAL platforms!) Well, I'm at least glad that a local business is doing well enough that they can not only turn customers away, but **** them off too.
