After checking Angie's List we selected Caliber Collision (Coastal Collision Works) and stopped by to get an evaluation and estimate. Met with Hal, service advisor, who inspected the damage and provided several options that would take care of the bumper. The least expensive and time consuming would be to push the bumper out since there was no paint damage. He asked when the accident occurred since delayed repairs may not be possible if the damaged area gets settled in the heat and sun. It was only 2 days, so we were lucky. Their technicians were at lunch and he asked if we would return in an hour so they can see if this option would work. We returned that afternoon. Hal took the car immediately to a technician. After 10 minutes, the car was brought out front. It was repaired with a slight, small depression still present which may work itself out . I was satisfied with the repair and asked for the bill. I was told there was no charge.
Hal was professional, courteous and knowledgable. Putting aside the fact that I was not charged, I would definitely use Caliber Collision again and recommend them to other unfortunate drivers.

Other dealers had 2-4 week waiting lists, and I would have had to leave my car for who knows how long. These guys proposed getting the trunk lid, painting it to match (they had the paint guy come out and make sure it would work) and then having me come in and they switched it out. Did the work fast, at least as good a price as anywhere else, and with a lot less hassle. I've already recommended them to others. And I would not hesitate to go there again. Though I hope I dont have to.

I got three estimates for the damage to my car caused by being backed into in the parking lot. Coastal Collision's estimate was the same as the dealer's, Baker Motor Co., and I found one other (Louie and Sons) that was lower. I went with Coastal Collision because of their high rating on Angie's List, and their proximity to my house. They did a great job repairing the door and repainting it; however, when I went to pick it up, I found that there were 4 very noticeable scratches on the rocker panel just below the door. It must have happened while they were sanding the door. I pointed it out to the advisor, and he promptly promised to have it fixed by repainting the whole piece the next day. They delivered the car the next day and it was painted and fixed to my satisfaction.
They washed and cleaned up the car inside and out, and it looked good when they were done. No orange peel; great color match and no blemishes or boo-boos. They didn't quite meet their promised schedule, but it wasn't terribly late. I found their operation to be very professionally run, the advisor very customer-focused and intent on my total satisfaction, and overall I was very pleased with the service.

I had unavoidably hit a small animal @ 60 MPH on a highway. As I continued on my way, there was a strange noise coming from the car's front left end. The damage prevented my left wheel from making any right turns. So I pulled into Coastal Collision Works, which was on my way home (straight road all the way) and just a short distance from the accident. They looked at it and manually pulled the obstruction away from the tire so that I could continue to drive it without further problems.

They applied their best salesmanship efforts to get me to sign up for them to repair the car. But since I had never been in an accident or filed an insurance claim before (over 40 years), I insisted on contacting my insurance company first for proper procedures. Although I know they were disappointed, I didn't yield to their best efforts and I was grateful for their complimentary assist to make my car drivable again.

The insurance company wanted me to repair it at their "preferred" shop, which was some 15 miles from where I lived. I overrode that recommendation and set it up to have it repaired at nearby Coastal Collision Works, which was about a mile from where I lived. I felt that Coastal Collision Works deserved the repair job for their complimentary assist in my time of need. I brought my car in to their site, gave them my insurance company's claim number and they took over orchestrating the rest of the logistics. I didn't have to worry about a thing. They explained to me that the insurance company would not authorize factory parts on some of the main items items. That really frosted my man parts. But Coastal explained to me that if the "after market parts" (i.e. cheapo crapo 3rd party parts from China) didn't fit right, they would contact the insurance company, explain the problem, and insurance would (most likely) authorize original factory parts.

After the cheapo parts arrived, Coastal Collision Works tested the parts, then contacted the insurance company and got them to authorize factory replacement parts.I didn't have to do a thing and Coastal kept me in the information loop the whole while. Whatta Team!

My car was ready when I was told it would be.

Additionally, when I had brought my car in for the repairs, they called the car rental company for me, arranged everything, and provided them with all of needed the information. So there was really nothing for me to do except drop my car off, drive off in a rental car, later return the rental then pick up my car. Total service right from day #1 thru end of deal.

I just had to pay Coastal Collision my insurance deductible amount ($1,000). I even found a 5% off coupon for Coastal Collision on Angie's list, which they let me apply to my deductible payment to them ($50).

BONUS ROUND: When I picked up my car, they had washed and cleaned it inside and out. My car hadn't been washed/cleaned in over 3 months and it now looked just GREAT! They even got out some stubborn scuff marks on the body paint. They didn't ask me if I wanted it, they just surprised me. Thank you, guys!

They bought parts from the Mazda dealer, installed them fine, then parked the car ready for pickup with the windows down. It rained, getting water in the interior of my car. They offered to dry it out, but I was there, had towel, decided to just wipe up, myself.
