I was experiencing problems with my boiler after a small fix I thought I could do myself left the home without heat or hot water. I called 3 other places that were not able to come out same day, then called PETRO and person on phone sold me a service contract (which I thought weird at first, but in retrospect was actually very nice) they said they could come within the next 2-4 hours, 7 hours later they arrived (I didn't mind the delay because I really wanted the job fixed and done right) and the repair person was courteous, pleasant and answered my questions. 
He repaired a broken pressure valve that had accidentally been tinkered with and flushed the air out of the line and viola the boiler was working again.

I was with Petro for two years under an auto-delivery and service plan contract and found the service is good but the prices are way, way over market.  My real problem is with the initial salesman from "DeBlois" that I dealt with, as the two important questions I asked before signing up were not answered truthfully.  I asked if the price quoted was a promotional price or one typical of future deliveries; I was told I could expect the same levels relative to competition.   However, unlike the first delivery, all subsequent deliveries were at least $.50/gal. above other full-service companies I have used (I checked within a few days of some deliveries).   The second problem is that in my initial call  I asked if I would be serviced by DeBlois or another company, and I specifically asked if Petro would be involved, since as a new resident of Narragansett I asked around and had been warned to avoid Petro.  The salesman at DeBlois said there was no connection, but as it turned out DeBlois and Petro are the same company.  So in sum, I found the service to be competent and courteous, but the prices for both oil and boiler service to be very high.  As I am writing this well after the last delivery, my agreement has now expired and I am no longer a Petro customer.
