Melvin Power Wash

Clean gutters with power washer. Knocked out all of the clips on the gutters with the power washer and left them on the ground.

This was a big deal purchase. I have a double pane window and they considered it two windows. They said when they had a promotion I purchased the deal for $150 and it covered so many windows, but a double hung window counted as two windows. They did not specify the size of the window, but mine is not double hung. It is just a big window so that is tricky. But I appreciate having someone come to clean the windows. They are a power wash company. I asked them to do extra windows so there was an extra cost. They were okay. The price was okay and the windows look nice. When they left I saw something was knocked down, not broken, but knocked down.

It was great. He had to do 2 applications. We had to pay an additional amount for the size of our deck. We paid an additional 600 bucks. He was professional.

Would use this service again in a heartbeat! Very responsive in terms of scheduling. Cleaners arrived on time and worked hard every minute that they were here. They were very tidy and made sure to take everything with them. Did a beautiful job - can finally see out our windows for the first time since we moved in!!! I had an appointment for an estimate at 4PM on a Thursday. I received a call from Melvin's office between 9 & 10AM on the day of the estimate and was told that Melvin looked at my house on the internet and the cost would be $380 for the "cleaning and repair" of my gutters. Six screws were to be replaced, that was the extent of the repair. If you look at the reviews here for gutter cleaning they are 99 dollars so that would be 281 dollars to replace 6 gutter nails with screws that I was providing. To bad I had to decline the service it seems like Melvin's Power Wash should have been the contractor to use. It would have been a deal for Melvin because I had cleaned out the front gutter myself but deemed it to risky to press my luck up there. I was willing to let him have that one as a freebee and was willing to pay the $99 plus a reasonable fee for the installation of the screws. Had he just kept the appointment for the estimate.

It all went very good except when he washed the house he left a residue all over the windows. I did not know this until it all dried. Other than that Melvin from Melvins power wash was very nice and very polite and the house was clean.

This is the second time I've used Melvin's company. (The first time was for pressure washing and exterior painting.) There was a slight problem with scheduling, as they weren't able to make it at the original appointment time, but Melvin stopped by personally a couple of days later to reschedule, and what counts is that they did complete the job in good time. The guys cleaned the gutters around my home, repaired loose sections, and installed gutter guards for both the house and the garage. They worked efficiently and thoroughly, and cleaned up afterwards. For anything that needs done on the exterior of my house, Melvin would be the first contractor I'd call.

Wonderful job! We live in a house that was built in 1955. After this service last Monda2c our windows are so clean, they look as if there is no glass in them! Excellent job! The two young men that did the windows were very pleasant.

great Whenever it rained, there was 'waterfall' outside our garage. We assume that the previous owners let the gutters stay clogged for a while, there was a pit in the driveway where water from the clogged gutters overflowed. Melvin's Power wash did a great job cleaning the gutters, during the next rain storm, the gutters worked as designed directing water away from the foundation of the house. Only issue is that some of our gutters were too high so that incurred another charge. The charge was understandable and reasonable.

Provider missed 7:00 am appointment. We called the office, they had no appointment listed. "We will contact you as soon as someone is variable." Crew showed up at 2:30 pm without calling ahead. Once they came, they did the job quickly, professionally, and courteously. I would use them again, but highly recommend re-confirming any service appointment a day or two ahead.

This was purchased via Angie's List big Deal October 14. In the deal, it was stated they would call me by the end of the week to set up a time to get my windows washed. They never called. On October 20 I sent the merchant a question asking when he was going to perform the service and I left my phone number for them to call me. They never called, just sent a message via the Angie's list messages. After a back and forth via messages on Angie's list, we agreed on November 9 at 8 am. On November 9 I called the business at 9 am asking where they are and when they will be there. I explained I took the day off from work to be home so he could complete the service. He gave me an excuse about his broke-down truck. I asked when he would be here. He said he has to fix his truck. At noon, one of his service providers, Cavalo (?), showed up and told me they charge $12 extra per window for storm windows. I asked about some kind of deal because they were already 4 hours late and my time is valuable especially when I take off from work to be home for this lazy outfit. He told me to call the owner. I spoke with the owner and never once apologized or offered a deal to get the work done, all he said was get your money back from Angie's list. We are not going to do the work. BAD BUSINESS! They will leave you hanging without completing their work.

Overall I am pleased with the work. The gutter guards are working great. The coordination to perform the job needs improvement. It took numerous attempts to get a firm date. Email seemed to work the best. Even though I provided a description of the work I desired in the Angie List's purchase request, Melvin was unaware of the gutter guard installation it took a separate visit to complete the job. I was happy that they showed up two days later, there was no phone call and I had to leave prior to work being completed.

All work was done satisfactorily and neatly.

The invoice included an extra $45 charge with no explanation as to what it was for. I called to say that I was upset that he came early when I was not there, that it looked like he had missed some of the gutters, and I was not willing to pay the extra $45. He agreed to waive the $45 but reminded me that he was highly rated on Angie's List.

They arrived, we looked at the job and they began their work. I added cleaning the storm windows to the job, it was not part of the package. I have a house with double hung windows, six over one. Each panel was cleaned perfectly. Bravo Melvin!!!

Melvins showed up early for my 8am appointment. They were very professional working for about 2hrs on my installation. I would highly recommend this business.

On 10/8/15, I bought a 150.00 Angie's List coupon for Melvin's Power Wash to wash 15 windows. I did this using a credit card, so that amount went directly to Melvin's. When they did the work on 10/24/15, I was on a trip but my wife was home. The people who showed up to wash said that we hadn't yet paid and that we owed them 150.00 for the work, so my wife wrote them a 150.00 check. When I returned on 10/26, I called Melvin's, explained the error, and asked them to send my check back. Melvin said that he had already deposited the check, but that he'd send me a personal check for the 150.00. After that conversation, it took two weeks and several follow-up phone calls for me to get the check. On the plus side, they did a really nice job on the windows - and while I'll be more careful in the future, I still might use them again!

I'll review the job on the windows separately, as they did an outstanding job with them, at a reasonable price ($13 per window, inside/out +screens). I had to walk around the house after they power-washed, to point out areas (gutters mostly) they did not show as clean. It was very difficult to communicate with workers since none spoke English, but once I communicated the issue, they went back and washed or re-washed the areas I pointed out. The huge problem-- and this is why I'm giving them a D-- is that they failed to protect any bushes that were close to the house. My wife has (had) beautiful rose bushes across the front of the house, which continue to bloom until the real cold sets in later in November. These were all destroyed by the bleach used to power-wash the house. Even I know that-- before using these chemicals you need to wet down any plants that may come in contact with them (and keep them wet). After the job, it is usually wise to then rinse them with plain water. Or they could have covered them. This company is called "Melvin's Power Wash"-- not Melvin's construction, or Melvin's painting company. How could they not know about the basics of protecting the plants when power-washing the house? There's nothing we can do at this point but pare the bushes down and hope they come back in the Spring.

Initially I had given a F because they did not show on two occasions. Finally the third appointment they did come and did a fantastic job. I would use again but pay after services are complete.

As requested, they cleaned just the outside surfaces of 26 Windows (some requiring a ladder) and 2 slider doors. Quality of job was very good. The pricing was somewhat deceiving as the $149 special for 15 Windows led you to believe that it includes both sides including screens which was not the case as one side is considered one unit or window. My advice is to get a written quote in advance and not sign up and pay for the special through this website.

There were scheduling issues several times, and we had to keep rescheduling. He was here for about 2 hours, he did about 15-20 minutes of power washing, and then he was gone. I went to check on him and he was on his cell phone. He came back and rinsed the deck a little more, then disappeared again. I went to check, and he was on his phone again. He also asked me to cancel my deal with Angie's List because he wanted me to pay him directly, not through Angie's List. I have cancelled and refunded my deal, and I have also cancelled the job with him. I do not want to deal with the hassle of scheduling issues any further.

It went poorly all the way around. I was waiting for a call from them being new to Angie's List. I was not aware that you get messages. I had put in 3 dates for potential service and was never contacted. Finally I called the place and booked a date. When they came (2 hrs earlier than we had arranged - 7AM instead of 9AM - they said that I have storm windows and that it would be an additional $12 per window. My windows are new. They tilt to wash, and wash easily. I had 17 windows to do. The job was for 15 windows for $129. I was willing to pay for 2 additional windows, but not another $12 per window. I asked for a refund and they said that I had to call Angie's List. When I contacted Angie's List to get my money back they said that it was beyond the 30 day period! I am disappointed not only in Melvin's Power wash for being misleading in saying 15 windows for $129, but also in Angie's list for not giving me my money back. They said that they would give me a credit to use by February. What if I do not need a service until after that?

He never retuned our phone calls.
