*3 week in June* My husband and I went in and spoke with the Owner Don for about an hour and a half and he was very nice in person. He explained he had been in the business for many many years and certainly seemed to know his stuff. We told him we wanted National Harvester (he's listed and an authorized distributor) brand and the model we were looking for and he talked us into this other model by same company/manufacture. Greenfire by Enviro. He told us that we could heat our whole house with this certain Greenfire and it would be in the basement and he would install duct work through out the basement with floor vents to bring the eat upstairs. We agreed on a model and an estimate was given, along with a description of the work it would entail (vents cut in floor and all). Installation could be late July. ** July 7th ** we went back to the store and wanted to put down our deposit (1/3 the total cost). His wife Carol (I can't remember his name now, Don or John) said that we could do that but that they were back ordered until September with installations possibly into January UNLESS we decided to purchase the "Meridian" stove which was "essentially the same" and the greenfire but $400 more, but she would give it to us for the same price. So supposing we were getting a better deal, we went ahead and put a $1k deposit down in cash to ensure we wouldn't loose our spot in line. I called back a few days later after reviewing the literature. "Where will the duct work be coming out of this stove?" I asked. It looked to me like it was just a small decorative stove to heat a living room. She wasn't meant to be in the basement... and was completely confused when I mentioned ducts. I was concerned and asked her to have Don/John to call us back since he was the "expert". I called back 3 more times before I got Him, he was rude and asked me "why would I want to heat my basement if no one's ever down there?" ... "I DON'T WANT TO HEAT MY BASEMENT", and then suggested that I should find some place to put it upstairs ... I in my confusion and utter bewilderment stuttered out that I guess we could put in the dining room. So my husband and I figured we were stuck with this or paying the High Oil prices this winter that we can't afford. So for another week I stewed in my frustration. *** July 17 *** I called to get an installation date, how silly of me. Tina (assistant) answered the phone and looked up her files. She came back saying how back logged they were and how many people have been lined up with deposits and finally said. "I really can't promise anything" WHAT?? REALLY?? "How about before Winter?" I asked. She told me the same thing again. She really couldn't say when they would be able to install. So I told her that in all honesty I would probably be looking to see if I could acquire the stove from somewhere else. WITHOUT hesitation she said "You can come in and pick up your deposit". And that was my awful experience with these people.
Description of Work: We shopped around online for a Pellet Stove and went into this store because it was an authorized dealer of the model and brand we wanted. We ended up disgusted and got our $1k deposit back. They were Misleading and intimidating to me. Used pushy "urgent" excuses for the mis-information and finally couldn't promise an even vague time frame for delivery/installation
