There is still some work that has to be done. They came when they were supposed to and were very courteous. They answered our questions. They were very polite and the work has been very good so far. Their price was in the middle of the other quotes.

Since the owner, Mr. Gannon, evidently the proud fourth generation of his business, could not reach Tom over that weekend to have my dimensions, he couldn't price the job, so the cost was given when Tom arrived Monday morning. This was not important, because it was understandable, and because we were very grateful that Mr. Gannon was able to schedule us immediately, with concern that we had no heat. This is a fine, reliable company, and I recommend them highly for professionalism and for concern for giving us priority during a very cold few days.

They were great! The team was on time and meticulous. They cleaned up after themselves. They also had a fair price.

This company gets favorable reviews for their work, however they appear to be very poorly managed. Before contacting Gannon, my chimney had been cleaned by a different company who told me there was evidence of a chimney fire, and that I needed a liner. I contacted another local chimney sweep who shined a flashlight up the chimney and told me that it looked fine. I called Gannon for a third opinion. They set up an appointment within a week of my call and I make arrangements to to take the day off from work to meet them. Patrick Gannon shows up, shines a light up the chimney, and tells me that I need a chimney scan, but that he doesn't have the equipment on the truck. I have to arrange a second appointment, again making arrangements to miss work. This time the company calls on the morning of the appointment (not the day before) and tells me their chimney scan equipment is being repaired and that they will have to reschedule. Needless to say, I have no intention of doing any further business with this company. They apparently have no regard for their customer's time. I do not understand how service companies like this one can be so inefficient and remain in business, especially in this economy.

This is a house that was being sold and there was an inspection done. The inspector noticed that there were some problems around the chimney which had to do with the flashing around the chimney. So, I called the chimney repair people and they came out to get the work done. They then found that the chimney had really deteriorated. It was being carefully maintained by me and it was bought about 5 years ago. So, I had to have the chimney as well as the flashing repaired. I also asked them to solve another problem for me which they did. There was a leak in the exhaust pipe that was going to the commode. There was also water coming in through the roof and then to the ceiling because of the leak. However, Gannon Chimney Repair people fixed the problem for me. They did a great job, but it was expensive. They were nice and there were 2 gentlemen who had come out to get the job done. They were very informal and did exactly what I asked them to do. I wasn't surprised by the expensive and extensive repair, as I did have such experiences before. I really wasn't obliged to fix the chimney, as I thought that it was okay. The price was consistent with the other companies. They didn't charge me anything more than the going rates. The total amount of work wasn't very long or difficult. They were there for about 3 hours and I had to pay them a couple of thousand dollars for their work. They were experts, as they not only fixed the chimney but also made the roof safe. There are very specific regulations in terms of what makes the chimney fixed like the stability, structure, lining, cleanliness and the other things that make the chimney. I really appreciated their expertise, as it was a safety issue. It's really dangerous to not have a non maintained chimney fixed, as it can catch fire, but everyone charges a lot for such work. If your house catches fire then your insurance company can blame them for not doing the job correctly. They also certified that the chimney and the flashing was done correctly. It was a casual operation and the guys who had come out were fine. I never expected them to come in a formal uniform. However, they did the job and accomplished whatever was expected. I would recommend them to others as well, because they did whatever I asked them to do. They were reliable and I could count on them, as it was a safety issue.

Scheduled routine cleaning and inspection of chimney. During the inspection, it was determined that the terra cota liner was failing and that our chimney was not up to code. It was recommended to re-line with stainless steel liner. We have been using Gannon for many, many years and trust their judgement. Job was done exactly as discussed, area was left very clean.

Our chimney needed to be rebuilt from the roof line up before we got a new roof. Gannon completed this work in a very timely manner and fixed the problems. While they were there they gave us a quote on fixing the fire place and the clean out down in the basement.

The team showed up, led by Jack K. and did an outstanding job. They were on-time, had everything they needed to do the work, were very professional, and did an excellent job. When they hit a snag, they knew exactly what to do and had team members come in to help. They also cleaned up all the debris left by the work in my basement and attic. The work was completed on-time and on-budget with minimal hassle.

The inspectors were very thorough. After clearing the obstruction, they explained in detail the work that needed to be done to repair the chimney. A proposal and estimate were provided within a couple of days. Due to changes in schedule, they were able to do the work several weeks earlier than previously indicated. The supervisor explained everything that was being done before it was done. Although they discovered that the chimney was in worse condition than anticipated and would require several more hours of work, there was no change in the cost. As promised, the basement wall into the chimney was rebuilt to a clean finish.
