Description of Work: I feel like most of what could have gone wrong did go wrong. We were promised 48 hours notice for pickup and delivery. My husband woke up to movers pounding on our door one morning, saying that they were there to pick up. We finally got it straightened out and they came back the next day. I called Transit systems to inquire about the status of our items. I was told I would get a confirmation email once it started moving. We never did. Instead the movers called us at 10:30 PM on a Sunday night to tell us that they would drop off our stuff the next morning. We couldn't get a later time unless we were willing to let our stuff take a detour to Texas. We had to scramble to get a relative to help us out with the movers on Monday morning, because we already had something else scheduled for the morning that we couldn't get out of. We wound up with a box that wasn't ours, so I am glad we didn't let the movers take our stuff to TX. I called Transit Systems to complain about the messy situation the movers had put us in, and to tell them about the box. The person I spoke to promised to look into it and call me back, but he never did. In addition to all of this, we were very upset that we were never told what the total cost of the move was after the shipment was weighed; the movers said it was slightly heavier than estimated. All that happened was that money was taken out of our account. I don't mind paying, but getting a final bill should be a standard procedure. I am disgusted with this company. I picked it because of the good reviews it got on Angie's List. I hoped at the very least that they would try to find the owner of the missing box. We still have it, hoping to get it to its' rightful owner. I hope that other people will be smarter than us and use anyone else but Transit Systems. The lack of professionalism is shocking, and it's clear that once an order is delivered, even if mistakes were made during the process, that they no longer care about their customers.

We would like to apologize to this member for her experience with Transit Systems. We do have excellent reviews on Angie’s List, but in this case we messed up. (removed member name) should have received a pre call both for pickup and delivery to prevent her from scrambling to help the movers. A pre call is normal practice for Transit Systems carriers, but in this case, we worked with a new carrier and the ball was dropped. We sincerely care about all of our customers and we regret that we fumbled this way. In an effort to make amends, this member has been issued a partial refund for the inconvenience that we caused.

Description of Work: Transit Systems contracts with smaller trucking companies to transport shipments across the country. I had 2 pieces of furniture moved from New Mexico to New York by Regal. Both items arrived in good condition. The price seemed a bit high, but I had no basis for comparison, so it might be reasonable. Customer service representatives and drivers were very courteous and professional. Communication could be improved as I had to contact them frequently for updates on when my furniture would be picked up and delivered. Overall a positive experience.

Description of Work: This company is a middle man. They actually do nothing to insure the quality of your move. We had a dinning room set moved. The end results where total damage to our table. 1/6" gouge about 15 inches long. Numerous deep scratches throughout the table, table edges and table leaves. They contracted with Don Farr to move our goods. The table was not wrapped nor the leaves which ended up with specific damage. We watched the driver and his crew, pick our buffet up by the top ledge (instead of the bottom of the piece) as they totally disconnected the top of the buffet from the bottom. Most of the door pulls/handles were damage and some of the door clip/locks. In order to restore our furniture, we had to have all the pieces refinished to be conclusive to the set. It cost us $5200.00 dollars. After many months battling to get some justice, we received a total of $503.00 to compensate for the damages that Don Farr caused, an agent of Transit Systems. Transit system lied to us and took no responsibility for the damages.

We do insure quality, as well as good rates, by working with only with the same well-vetted and qualified carriers regularly. We get lower rates based on the volume of business we do, and as the customer’s advocate we know whom to contact and how to resolve issues when they occur. Which brings us to this situation. We did not do this move. We do use a nationwide network of carriers, but we have never, ever worked with JB Hunt. We are asking Angie’s List to investigate because this reviewer apparently made a mistake and mixed us up with another company.

Description of Work: The contractor who delivered broke table base, even after paying for white glove service. I was reimbursed a percentage from transit. Transit should look into who they have for deliveries. We were not happy with the contractor.

Description of Work: I CONTRACTED WITH TRANSIT SYSTEMS TO PICK UP A GRANDFATHER CLOCK THAT HAS BEEN IN MY FAMILY FOR YEARS. MY 93 YEAR OLD AUNT HAD SOLD HER HOUSE AND ALL ITEMS HAD TO BE OUT BY FEB. 28TH, 2015. THE CLOCK WOULD BE PICKED UP IN NEENAH, WI AND DELIVERED TO BENTON, AR. WHERE I LIVE. I CHOSE TRANSIT SYSTEMS BECAUSE OF THEIR WHITE GLOVE TEAM WHOM, I WAS TOLD, WOULD PACK AND HANDLE THE CLOCK CAREFULLY. THE PEOPLE I SPOKE TO ON THE PHONE (NATALIE) WERE KIND, ASSURING, AND VERY BUSINESS-LIKE. I WAS PROMISED THAT THE CLOCK WOULD BE IN GOOD HANDS AND THAT THE TEAM WOULD CONTACT ME 2 HOURS PRIOR TO PICK-UP. THIS WAS GOOD BECAUSE I HAD A FRIEND OF MY AUNT'S WHO WOULD OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE TEAM TO PICK UP THE CLOCK. AROUND 2:00 IN THE AFTERNOON OF THE 27TH, OUR PLANNED PICK-UP DAY, I HAD NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE SO I CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE ON NATALIE'S PHONE. I STARTED RECEIVING CALLS BACK FROM NATALIE'S ASSISTANT AND ANOTHER LADY WHO WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE PICK-UP TEAM. ABOUT 4:00 THAT AFTERNOON I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TEAM WOULD NOT BE PICKING UP MY CLOCK THAT DAY AND THE EARLIEST THEY COULD GET IT WOULD BE THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY! REMEMBER, EVERYTHING HAD TO BE OUT OF THE HOUSE BY THE NEXT DAY, THE 28TH. THE LADY WAS VERY APOLOGETIC, BUT TO NO AVAIL. BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LATE TO CALL IN ANOTHER TEAM TO MOVE THE CLOCK, IT HAD TO BE SOLD TO SOMEONE OUTSIDE THE FAMILY WHO COULD GET IT OUT OF THE HOME BY THE 28TH. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM SICK ABOUT MY AUNT'S CLOCK GOING TO STRANGERS, I AM UPSET ABOUT THE LIES I WAS TOLD AND I AM ANGRY THAT I EVER CHOSE TRANSIT SYSTEMS. HOPEFULLY I CAN GET MY MONEY BACK.

We failed this member and we are heartsick. In 2014 we completed over 10,000 moves and shipments. Every transport company has a few jobs that go awry. We do better than most companies, as exemplified by our A rating with Angie members, and we always aim for perfection, but this time we fell short. We have recently developed a local pickup and storage database for situations like this, so if our carrier is delayed, we can have a local mover pick up and store the item or items until our long distance truck can get there. Somehow we were not able to employ that backup this time. We issued a full refund, of course, and notified the member of that refund in the personal apology we sent to her.

Description of Work: Transit Systems assisted my family in moving items across country, so that we did not have to drive them ourselves. They were very professional and assisted us in the whole process of the move & scheduled a shipping company that was excellent. The company was courteous and prompt and kept us informed of their arrival times from start to finish. They wrapped everything carefully and handled the contents with care. Everything arrived in great shape and they placed all items where we asked them to. We will use this company again, when needed.
