Agape Painting

Erin from Agape Painting was great in helping my decor challenged wife pick the latest and most attractive colors for our new home color scheme. Erin was absolutely spot on as to how these colors will look in our kitchen and family room. Unless you pay for a separate decorating service, you can NOT get better advice and technique than what Erin has to offer. Erin started the job on the day agreed and worked for over a week without us having to be on site. Erin used only Kelly Moore paints, which from my own experience, is superior to home supply store paints. She completely masked and taped all carpeting and woodwork and hardware and not a drop of misapplied paint could be found anywhere. I really looked to find some errors and was unable to find any mistakes of any sort! The work was technically very superior to what typically is passed off as professional grade painting! There were some difficult painting situations that Erin was able to master and produce a result that even visitors remarked on how sharp it looked. Artist quality and worth the cost! All clean up was complete and thorough and all debris was removed. She works by herself most of the time and was very communicative about how things are going. She provided a detailed description of what will get done and followed it exactly. No surprises except for the quality. Her estimate ran about 30 percent more than the other estimates we received but the extra cost is WORTH IT! This is a good example of getting what you have paid for and Erin works hard to provide the most value for your painting budget.

She mentioned that her company was voted as the business of the year or she was voted as the contractor of the year about a couple of years ago, which increased my confidence in her. I like her very much. I also found that there were termites when she came out for the estimate. She asked me about the other lowest estimates that I had received. I had got two estimates and she said that she could match one, but the other was too low.

We had the worst painting nightmare ever. It was lead based paint covered in oil on oil paint with no primer. Erin and her crew did a fantastic job prepping and painting. It was flawless and made our house look a world of difference. Erin is very meticulous in her work and adept at picking out fantastic colors that fit your needs. I would hire her in a heartbeat. Thanks again Erin for the wonderful work you did on our home of a thousand projects.

She does a terrific job, I'd give her an A+ on everything. She's coming on Wednesday to do some interior work for me.

Erin is a very energetic and likeable person. Even tho' she'd only painted over wallpaper once before she knew what to do. After repairing the wall gouges we'd made trying to do it ourselves, she sealed all the papers' seams then primed the walls. It was a long day's job to do this so she returned the following week to paint the walls. I'd bought several quarts of wallcolor to try on the walls ahead of time but never got it right. She brought her Kelly Moore sample book and helped me and we chose the colors together. They are perfect! Just what I was trying to achieve. She really has a sense of color. The guest room accent wall is now a coppery rose and I love it! We are very satisfied with the overall work experience and would hire her again. She is very sincere and devoted to getting the job done to the customer's satisfaction. I haven't met many people who are as customer-oriented as she is. She is a one-person company so it took 2-3 days to hear back from her about an estimate and then 2 days to hear back from her to schedule. She's booked up so we had to wait awhile to get her. Another company rated highly on Angie's list did not return our 2 calls at all. I'm glad Agape Painting did. We were very satisfied with this work experience and would hire her again. I even promised to send her photos of the finished rooms, now decorated.

The quote was reasonable, but we are just waiting on the project for now.

I have an older home with a lot of kitchen cabinets. But they're in good shape, so there's no reason to landfill these and install newer ones. A few years ago I had them painted and I was never happy with the color or the contractor's work. It was time to change the color to something lighter. Erin from Agape had previously painted several rooms of my house, so I called her for this job. She was able to fit me into her busy schedule and has again helped me choose the perfect color for all those cabinets. I'm amazed at how quickly and yet cleanly she works. Her lines are so sharp and precise. Having now worked twice with her, I know I can count on the job being done right. There's no reason to call anyone else. I know when I hire Erin that I will get exactly what I want -- color, expertise and end result.

Our experience with Ms. Von Ohlsen and Agape was outstanding. We initially had hoped to have the original woodwork stripped, and Ms. Von Ohlsen worked with us very painstakingly to try to salvage the original wood. Her care and efforts were exceptional. However, when we finally had to give up since the wood was in poor shape and of poor quality, she agreed to paint all the woodwork, to finish the new crown molding and base shoe installed by a different contractor, and to do the walls and the fireplace. She was superbly easy to work with, and her care and absolute meticulous attention to detail could not be surpassed. She is very flexible around our needs and is also punctual. Once we agreed on days she would be here, she was always present. She delivers what she promises. Her work is painstaking, and she is meticulous about clean up; we never had so much as a drop of paint on anything but what was intended. She restored everything to its original place, and the house was left immaculate. The finished job is absolutely beautiful and even better than we had hoped. We will hire her any time we need painting, and in addition to the total professionalism of her work, she is also very reasonable in her prices and has a delightful personality. She is a joy to work with, and we recommend her absolutely!

An excellent professional job, including great color choices and a dedication to satisfaction. She's a perfectionist, but isn't that what you want in a painter?

Overall, it went very well. She has a great eye for color and provided advice on the colors. She painted swatches on the wall and allowed us enough time to make our decision on the color. She spent extra time repairing some baseboards that were in bad condition. She cleaned up well after the job was completed. We felt completely comfortable having her in our household.

Erin did a great job helping with the color selection. Her and her crew were prompt and professional. Definitely a great job.

She was responsive. She helped me to choose the colors for the house. That was the main reason we went to her. She was a little bit more expensive than others but she had more of a full service. She was willing to do more than what others were willing. We had some skirting that needed to be repaired. She offered to do that free. Other companies did not do that. If one is not sure what colors to use and also does not want to spend time looking through paint books, she can show books to give an idea of how various colors look. She helps us to make a note the shades of the paint quickly. It would have taken a lot more time if I had not worked with her. She did good work. I had no problems with her but my husband felt that there were miscommunications a few times. They did not connect well as far as getting back.

They came out in the last month to paint a bedroom for me. They did an excellent job. I will use their services in the future as well.

Erin did her usual great job of painting dull white cabinets, a rich espresso brown. Very high quality paint job.

My wife and I are very particular people. We like bold colors but lacked the experience to decide which colors would complement each other. Erin set our minds at ease by assuring us that she would repaint anything that did not please us. At one point, we had a grand total of 15 paint samples on the wall. We learned that paint swatches and the paint sample dabbed on the can cover were, at best, marginal indicators of true color and tone. You have to the paint the walls, wait for them to dry, and see them in varying lighting conditions before making a final decision. Erin was extremely patient throughout this whole decision-making process. Her color consults were instrumental in the colors we eventually chose. In the family room, we have three separate colors...a base color, accent wall color, and a third for two recessed areas. Thanks to Erin's help, all three colors harmonize with each other very well. Each day of the job, she made sure that she alloted enough time to clean up the work area. She also wanted to vacuum but we chased her out of the house before she could do it. Overall, a wonderful experience with a true professional. Lots of good conversation but still a lot of work done.

Erin and her crew arrived on time and ready to work. Erin was able to match my existing house paint color because I didn't have enough paint on hand to cover all of the work that needed to be done. She recommended repainting the weathered areas in semi-gloss (the former painter had used flat paint) for better wear. I had some trim that was installed with the new doors that was primed but not painted, and Erin put a nice coat of semi gloss on those areas too. She even repainted my garage side door where the HVAC guys scratched it instead of just doing a quick touch up. Everything looks wonderful now. All of the scratches, dirty fingerprints, and just plain bad painting done by the previous workers is gone and the house looks fresh. It sure beats having to have the whole house repainted!

If you are looking for someone to slap some paint on your wall, Erin is probably not your best bet. If you looking for someone that takes professional and personal pride in their work, then hire Erin. Comparing Erin's job to a previous recent painting, you can definitely see the quality she brings to the job. Erin provided color consulting as well. Her first effort wasn't great, and she admitted as much. Her second effort was perfect. She has an artist's eye for color.

I got a quote from Erin for the work and was pleased that Erin saw a lot of possibilities in my home. I felt she could do a terrific job with my open floor plan home that was currently painted entirely in Navaho White. After 10+ years I was tired of living in a giant white cave and wanted to put color on the walls, but was unsure how to choose colors that would blend together in the open floor plan format. Erin demonstrated that she could provide an outstanding color consultation in addition to providing a high quality paint job. I was especially pleased that no spraying was done--everything was brushed or rolled. In the past, my lungs had been very unhappy with spray painting, but this time I had little difficulty with the paint fumes. They went the extra mile to make sure the painting looks clean and crisp, even caulking around baseboards and the ceiling to ensure a clean cut line. Erin's team also had to deal with an unexpected family crisis on my part that erupted just as they were about to start work. They handled the situation with grace which greatly relieved my stress. Erin's crew were kind and interesting people who worked hard. They were careful with my furniture and flooring. They cleaned up every day before they left. They arrived on time. They were courteous and professional. The results are stunning. I've gotten tons of compliments on the painting. You would not recognize the house. Erin's color choices were superb. Everything looks better. I could not be happier or more satisfied with the results.

Erin's bid was just a bit higher than another bid, but my hunch paid off that she was the right one to to our job. She came to the house, looked over everything and gave me her bid on the first trip. She helped me very much to choose colors. On one bedroom wall, she re-painted it six times until she got the color she wanted. We were satisfied all along, but her sense of perfectionism would not allow her to stop until she got it "right." She helped me hang pictures after the job was completed. I relied on her good advice and am so very pleased with the results.

Erin promptly returned my call and set up a time to give me an estimate. I got more estimates but decided Erin was the right person for the job. She came back several times to help me choose colors and put samples on the walls to see what they looked like in different light. She was very patient and answered all my questions. The job was completed in a few days and my house looks great! All my friends are really impressed with the new shades and how well they work with my furniture and accessories.

From first contact to completion of the job Agape was professional, and their attention to detail was superior. I will continue to refer anyone and everyone I know to Agape. I will most definitely call them for all future paint jobs.
