Description of Work: I recently had to have work done at my house ? new furnace and water heater. The contractors did a great install but left a disaster zone from removing the furnace. My finished basement was covered with soot. The stairs to the first level were trashed, they made a hole in the wall in my basement, my hardwood floor at the top of the stairs into the kitchen had several deep gouges in it and the door frame into the kitchen was dislodged. They then dragged the furnace across my driveway and stained everywhere with soot and rust. I called Remmey Adjustment Company and Dave told me I was covered by my homeowners? policy. The initial adjuster rejected the claim and told me to go after the contractor. Dave then appealed this to the insurance company and had my claim reassigned. The second claim representative from the insurance company said the situation was absolutely covered and that my insurance company would be subrogating the claim to the contractors? insurer. He was very good, however without Dave I probably would have just accepted the initial rejection. Dave acted very professionally in the whole process even when the claim was initially denied and he was extremely annoyed with the independent adjuster. He was confident I was covered and knew exactly how to deal with this rejection. The rapport he had with the second insurance company representative was extremely reassuring. I cannot praise Dave enough for his work and support during this particularly trying time. This is the second time I have used his services and he has obtained me very fine settlements on both occasions. My house is still in need of repair but now I have the money to fix it. His empathy was very genuine and he is very assertive in his position with the insurance company.

I have two things I would like added to Remmey Adjustment Company's Angie's profile: 1) Dave is so conscientious that he called me about 2 months after the work was completed, and wanted to know if I was satisfied with the work and price charged by the tradesmen he recommended. I had to talk him out of physically coming down to check for himself, and he only agreed not to come after I sent him some email photos and copies of the tradesmen;s invoices. That manner of caring about the ultimate satisfaction of your client is sadly quite rare. I phoned Remmey Adjustment Company based on very positive reviews on Angies list and received a prompt response. He inspects damage to your home, generates a repair estimate, and then meets with your home owner's insurance company to compromise on a figure. As with all insurance companies, they will try to give you the lowest estimate possible. Without an expert like Dave assistance, you are totally at the mercy of the insurance company. DO NOT ACCEPT a check for damages until you have a professional with many years of experience like Dave review the claim first. I can guarantee in the vast majority of cases his estimate for the damages will be higher than the insurance company's. I think all of us know all too well that insurance companies love to collect the premiums, but are adverse to paying any of it back. Read your home insurance policy carefully, I think you will find that your home is covered for all manner of damages, such as water damage from leaking plumbing... It does not have to be strictly related to things such as storm damage. Dave utilizes an instrument that can actually detect water in an area that appears to be dry visually. He has been at this for over 25 years and knows all of the "ins and outs" of the insurance claims business. Trust me, you need a strong advocate on your side when dealing with insurance claims, and Dave Remmey is that man.
