The Bee Hunter

A roofer noticed that there was a hornet's nest near the chimney flashing. We called the bee hunter and he came out promptly to take a look. On the phone he told me that he would charge around $250; however, when he was actually at my house he told me around $350. I was in a hurry to get the job done since roofers would be at my house again soon, so I didn't have time to shop around. I suspect that he charged too much for the job. I had a coupon from Angie's list so it cost closer to $320 (including tax). This was definitely something I needed to hire someone to do since the nest was on the roof and it needed to be handled by someone experienced with working with hornets. It was interesting to watch him climb up on the roof in his protective suit and after he climbed down from the roof I saw that the hornets were swarming all around him. Yikes! I think he took care of the problem, but I'm not entirely sure, since I haven't climbed up on the roof. However, we recently had our roof replaced and none of the workers mentioned anything about seeing a hornet's nest. I would probably use his services again; however, I would shop around first.

It was good. He showed up when he said would and he took care of the problem.

The Bee Hunter was called in to do a job that a previous exterminator failed to do in two attempts. After the Bee Hunter left, there have been no problems. He also checked the inside of the house to make sure the yellow jackets weren't chewing through the drywall. He was very prompt and courteous. He certainly seemed to know what he was doing. I've found it very difficult to find reliable contractors and service men of any kind, so dealing with the Bee Hunter was refreshing. The approximate cost is $300, which I found to be very expensive for such a straghtforward and quick job. The actual work took only ~20 minutes. Also, our bay window now has cracks that seem to invite bees to nest there. He gave advice on caulking that to prevent new infestations, but honestly for $300 I would have hoped he'd do that himself. He clearly takes pride in his work, though. The other exterminator, who admittedly couldn't complete the job, charged only $160. My mistake last time was that I was desperate to get rid of the nest and I neglected to ask his price up front. To his credit, he did tell me the price before beginning the work. Next time I would make sure I was comfortable with his price before hiring him. These are the only exterminators I have hired so that's all I have as a reference.

I saw something strange in one of our plum trees. At first I thought it might be tent worms but then realized it was some sort of hive. I called up Angie's List on my computer and The Bee Hunter was one of the first companies listed. I checked out the website, read several reviews and liked the fact that the company had nearly 100% A ratings. Called the owner, described the problem, and he said it sounded like a hornet's nest. He said he could come out within the next few days and that's just what he did. We were very pleased with his knowledge, experience and professionalism. I won't hesitate to call him again if/when the need arises.

We started to notice wasps in our house in very odd locations, such as the basement and other rooms where one wouldn't think to find them. We also saw them swarming on the outside of our house near aluminum siding and figured that was the source of our problem. The Bee-Hunter came out, analyzed the situation, and made a recommendation for treating the problem areas. After the treatment, we haven't had any occurances of wasps inside or out. The service the Bee-Hunter provided was very professional and gave us his honest opinion on what would be the appropriate treatment based on cost, season, etc, which I appreciated very much!

The first year we called him we had a infestation of yellow jackets and carpender bees in our shed which he got rid off. He also told us that he has a preventative treatment to keep bees from nesting in your yard at all. One time we had an issue with yellow jackets even after the treatment, but we called him and he came out at no extra charge. During the treatments he sprays everywhere a nest may appear. The chemicals he uses do not adversely effect my plants, pets or children, yet are very effective against bees. He's extremely responsive and returns phone calls very promptly. When he's here he's extremely professional and certainly a great man to do business with. I HIGHLY recommend him!

A few days after moving into our new home, we noticed aggressive acting bees frequently flying in and out of a cable line entry hole that had been drilled into the house. Not knowing if the bees were causing damage inside the walls, we wanted to address it immediately.We called Jim at about 3pm. He answered promptly and, even though he had two other appointments, committed to coming over the same evening. He took a look and identified them as wasps. He quoted a price, we agreed, and he took care of the problem right on the spot. All was taken care of by early evening. Jim is a professional and very knowledgeable. All he does is bees and wasps. No other critters or bugs. The service was prompt and professional. We highly recommend The Bee Hunter! p.s. It's several days later and there is no sign of the wasps returning.

It’s a one-man operation and he was wonderful to work with. It might seem like a lot of money, but it was well worth it. He even worked with me on the price; I was able to set up a payment plan. He went into the attic, up on the roof, and was incredibly thorough. I didn’t have a bee or a wasp the entire season! I’d definitely use his services again.

We’ve used The Bee Hunter for a few years now, and have had pretty good results. Jim is reliable and comes back if needed; he has a guarantee for his work. He uses a powder, is very thorough and good to work with overall. His price is expensive, but he’s good at what he does and I’m getting my money’s worth.

Whenever I am considering and selecting a service provider, responsiveness of the service provider to me as a potential customer is one of the big deal-breaking factors that I consider in making my final selection. Jim the Bee Hunter promptly returned my phone calls, he was able to come to my home and deal with the problem bees within a few days of the initial contact, and the cost was reasonable. I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about this service provider and I most definitely will be using the Bee Hunter's services again next spring -- on a preventive basis before the problem carpenter bees and wasps return.

This guy is as good as his reviews. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. He explainedd what he would do and did exactly that. I didn't like having a bunch of bees, but am very happy I had the Bee Hunter.

On September 12, 2011, we were having trees removed when our tree trimmers informed us that they did the best they could and had to quit. They informed us that we had a possible nest of bees either in a downed log or in the ground and the swarm was getting very agitated. The guys did a great job taking down the trees as I wanted and they left. I then went back to my computer and pulled up Angie's list to look for someone to take care of the bees. I located The Bee Hunter on the list and called him. While I was leaving a message for him on his cell phone, my call waiting signal went off. It was The Bee Hunter immediately calling me back. He was just checking his phone for messages when my message appeared. I was very impressed. I explained to this gentleman, with a very distinguished voice, the problem that had been discovered. He then said that he would be at my residence within a day or two and quoted a price. On 9/14/2011, he called and informed my husband that he would be arriving at the house in the afternoon. He arrived as he said and my husband showed him the section of the hillside where the log was suppose to be. He went to the alley behind our house and after some searching found the vine covered log. The log was rotted and it contained a nest of yellow jackets. He sprayed the nest and then return back to the house. He explained that we should avoid the treated area for 24 hours or until the insects were gone for safety reasons. Mr. Abraham is very professional, precise and courteous. His service was reasonably priced and there was also a warranty period til the end of the year which is reassuring. Mr. Abraham is definitely someone who I would quickly recommend to anyone who needs help with stinging insects. I would definitely use him again.

I was very happy with Jim's work. He demonstrated a great deal of knowledge in this area and knew exactly what to do to correct the problem. The service was very quick and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Bee Hunter if you have pests to be removed at your home.

I had ground bees in two separate areas of the yard. They were bothering the dogs and I was stung once. After I was stung, I experienced an allergic reaction and knew I had to get rid of the bee problem. The Bee Hunter came over to the house, examined the situation and treated both spots. The bees were mostly gone after 24 hours and completely gone after 2-3 days. I would call him again if needed.

it went very well. Jim came out on Saturday morning and took care of the problem quickly. We were pleased that his work came with a four-month warrenty and that he would return, free of charge, if any of the insects were to survive.

Wasps had made a nest inside our house. We contacted Jim to help us based on his website which is tremendous (very informative). Jim came out and clearly explained our options and how he would take care of the problem. He also made a recommendation on how to proceed which was greatly appreciated. We have had no signs of wasp activity since Jim's service.Highly recommended and would definitely use The Bee Hunter again.
