The Bee Hunter

So I called The Bee Hunter - Jim Abraham after looking at Angie's list. Jim arrived on Sunday morning. He explained what he was going to do, price and warranty. Thanks to angies list I received a 10% discount off of the $241 jim had quoted. He dressed in the bee suit, got up on the extension ladder and hit it. Those hornets were ticked off and were all around his head but with the right equipment and know how (which Jim had) - it was a piece of cake. He then treated the corner of house and showed my wife and I the inside of the nest. It was pretty cool. He showed us some of the workers that were ready to be born any minute and larve inside. Educational Too. The bee hunter offers a no frills 6 month warranty that the pesto critters will not return to his treated area. He will come out and remove at no cost. He also offers a yearly treatment plan which I did not accept. i would definitely recommend him. Very professional and personable.

We called Jim's business number on Sunday night expecting an answering machine....to our surprise, he answered the phone and set up an appointment for the next day. There were a ton of bees flying around our magnolia bush in the backyard. We were sure there was a beehive hiding in it. But Jim came out and honestly analyzed the situation. The bees were just feeding on the bush due to the it's weakened state. He has been doing this line of work since he was 12. Jim knows his stuff and took his time to explain the problem and told us to call a tree specialist. Having a "bee problem" is unnerving. It's reassuring to know there is a competent, honest specialist who can help.

I was stung two weeks in a row while mowing the grass. After the 2nd sting, I did not hesitate to call a professional. I was not going to do the amateur thing with gasoline in the hole. I couldn't risk getting stung again and I wanted to make sure the yellow jackets were out of my yard forever. I have small children who come and play in my yard. I certainly did not want to take the risk of one of the children getting stung and going into anaphalactic shock. Jim, "the bee hunter," is very professional and very conscientious He came as soon as he was able to come and worked diligently. Afterward, we talked about yellow jackets and his life long interest in bees. Serendipitously, we discovered we had attended the same college in Meadville, PA, albeit many years apart.

It went great. We had used The Bee Hunter a number of years ago and had a good experience - and this one was as well. He was easy to communicate with and very knowledgable.

Jim was on time, very professional and made sure all of the places that bees can nest were treated. He has been treating our house for 3 years and we are very happy with his services.

We have used the Bee Hunter for this service for several years. After treatment, we rarely see any stinging insects flying around our home. Although pricey, we can enjoy our porch and deck without worrying about encountering large numbers of stinging insects and the allergic reactions they bring.

Jim was prompt, polite and did the job right. I've had carpenter bees borrowed in my front porch roof for years and have not been able to use the porch. Within one day of him coming to my house the bees are gone and I haven't seen them since!!

Had an informative and lengthy conversation about my carpenter bee problem with Jim over the phone. He asked if I had still seen them at this point in June (they had been destroying wood by my roof for some time this spring). I mentioned that they had seemed to vanish in the past few days. He explained that this was typical for their life cycle and that it would be best to call him first thing next spring to have him come out when they start their activity. I thanked him for his honesty as he could have come out and charged me hundreds for what wasn't actually necessary at this point. I'll be calling him next Spring!

One treatment; successful so far. Jim assured me he would return immediately if the bee problem wasn't taken care of. He advised me that bees might persist for a few days or so, but to call if any were seen after a week. He is highly professional and also provided quite a bit of information.

If I do end up needed extermination in the future I will be using.

I was amazed at how quickly Jim the Bee Hunter responded to my email. He was out the very next day to take a look at the area and give me an estimate. He agreed to come the next day, weather permitting to do the work. He did show up as he said and called me in advance to give me his estimated time of arrival. It took about two hours. He was very professional and polite. Did his work quietly and gave me a written guarentee that if the bees came back he would too, at no charge.

He was very professional. Came twice, once for large wasps' nest. Again for small persy bees (on two sites). (He gave me the names and told me about each type.) Very good. I thought at the time that the cost was a little high, but I would hire him again. Found him very good. He definitely knew what he was doing.

Removed a beehive in the wall under a window in my bedroom.

He was extremely professional and prompt, calling that afternoon to schedule an appointment for the next day. He answered all of my questions, and told me exactly what he was going to do. In addition, he is clearly knowledgeable about his work, explaining some of the characteristics of yellow jackets and things to look out for in the future. I have never needed this kind of service before so it seemed a little pricey, but on the other hand, I would call The Bee Hunter back in a second if I needed to and pay it again for the peace of mind and professionalism.

When alerted by another professional that I had flying insects entering my home near a gasline, I joined Angie's List and searched for a reputable exterminator. Due to his Excellent rating, I selected The Bee Hunter and placed a call. I explained that I needed quick service due to fear and a recent diagnosis of sensitivity to stinging insects, and he agreed to visit my home the next day. He called several times to update me on his ETA, and arrived as promised. He listened to my description, and then looked both inside and outside my home. He identified the yellowjackets and explained what he would do and quoted a price. I accepted the deal and he got to work. He put on protective gear and went to work outside where they were gaining entrance. When he returned to his vehicle, I remembered I had a wasp nest in a vent and along the roofline. He immediately got a ladder and climbed up to assess. He agreed to treat for an additional fee. I agreed and he sprayed and removed the nest. The Bee Hunter is professional, thorough and personable. Finally, he honored the discount offered to Angie's List members.

Fantastic. Within 5 days, we saw no more bees. What a relief, as my husband had been stung several times. I would definitely recommend the Bee Hunter!

Before calling the Bee Hunter we tried to take care of the wasps ourselves by following all sorts of online tutorials -our wasps were not impressed by our efforts! We had a nest in a deep crevice above our front door. He came out the morning after I called him to take care of it. He said it could take up to a week for them to be completely gone but I couldn't see a single wasp even 24 hours later. I was initially a little bummed about the price because I thought I was going to be paying $300 for someone to spray better poison than what we found at Lowes- but when I actually saw what he did (which was kind of terrifying - even wearing the suit it looked very scary to me) - it was definitely hard earned!! I will be calling him again if I ever get another wasp's nest.

Jim came to my house to address a swarm of bees at a corner of my house inside the siding. Bees were coming into the house and becoming a big concern. He arrived as promised, reviewed the area, and explained what he would need to do, the steps he would take, and what i could expect to happen. He was very thorough and took time to explain in detail. After he drilled some holes inside and sprayed we had a number of bees in the kitchen. He explained they would fly out and die, which they did quickly. He also donned a protective suit and sprayed outside where the swarm was visible. He told me we could expect some activity for a day or two and that if we still had any problems to call and he would come back at no charge. The whole process took about an hour.

We had a nest (possibly more than one)yellow jackets at the front of the house. Both my husband and I had been stung over the course of a few weeks and it was getting difficult to get out of the house or garage without encountering our new friends. After both being stung and having reactions to the stings, we were ready for professional assistance. Called Jim. He was very prompt in returning the call, came the next day, took care of the problem promptly. We were very pleased. Although we weren't home and didn't actually see Jim, reports from our neighbors were that we really went after our nest. would use again and recommend.

he did an excellent job. he explained exactly what he was going to dodo the cost and asked if we were going to want to. we had him do what he explained. he got a large ladder in a small ladder. he climbed up from the back yard to our back deck with a large ladder. Then he climbed over and used to small a ladder to reach the nest. when he was finished he asked if we had a hose handy and proceeded hose off our neighbors deck to remove the drippings . He was done. he said if the bees are not gone within about a week or two to call him back and he will come back. he was extremely thorough in his work.

The Bee Hunter was very quick to return my calls, and came out the same day. He was very professional and I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

After trying everything we knew to rid the wall of the yellowjackets, I called The Bee Hunter. Jim answered on the second ring and said he could come that Saturday afternoon. He called later in the afternoon to let us know that his day was very busy and he would call us again when he was on his way...which he did. When he arrived, he was extremely professional, asking several questions to assure that he used the correct process and materials. After penetrating the wall with two different insecticides, he told us that it may take as long as two weeks for the entire swarm to die. He asked us to call on Sunday to let him know how the treatment was working. Sunday was warm and sunny...and yellowjacket free. Monday was the same. We called to thank him for the wonderful job. As a plus, our schnauzer thought he was great!

Jim put on his Tyvek suit and respirator and on hands and knees went into our attic crawl space where the bees were. He sprayed the nest, let the spray sit for awhile, then used some tools to take apart the nest. It was pretty big, said it was probably there for quite awhile. All in all, it took him about 20 minutes to do everything. We haven't had any problems since then. Jim did a great job!

When I contacted The Bee Hunter, I scheduled to have Jim Abraham come to my house the next day. But due to my error, I discovered a scheduling conflict and immediately called Jim back to reschedule for the following day. On the scheduled date, Jim Abraham's contacted me to explain he had something come up and could not come. We agreed to the next day with me requesting a morning visit. Jim Abraham arrived at the agreed time and immediately went to work & removed the hive/nest. He was extremely professional and courteous. I also appreciate his care in using chemicals that does not harm other animals such as birds. Should I encounter a case of bees again, I will differently contact The Bee Hunter.
