The kitchen looks brand new! After collecting a few estimates, we realized that we could get the most bang for our buck by going with Schumacher Contracting. They gave us the greatest allowance for our cabinets, counters, appliances, etc. They were NOT our lowest bid, but their bid included a lot more work. We are pretty picky, and they were great about making adjustments and touch-ups when they were noted. They were even careful about taking down our old cabinets, so we were able to reinstall one in our basement utility room. Overall, we were very happy with the work and think it adds a lot of value to our home.

TJ was awesome. I have already referred him to some of my friends. Basement was completely unfinished and he did an excellent job with everything.

Wonderful! I only wish all contractors were as pleasant to work with as TJ. He and his worker showed up on time, every time they said they would - from the initial meeting to the end of the job. They were polite, friendly and easy to work with. The bathroom is quite large and TJ was patient with my change in design plans from the start. They took great care to protect the rooms surrounding the bathroom by covering everything and leaving the site spotless upon completion. The cost of the finished bathroom was almost exactly what I was quoted it would be (within $100). Even after the job was complete I had one more question and TJ was there the next day to make sure everything was as to my satisfaction. The finished bathroom was even more beautiful that I had could have imagined thanks to his suggestions. I have had many complements on it and I have already recommend this company to others and would use them again without a doubt.

We love the work TJ did for us. He was very easy to work with, he kept us informed, and gave us plenty of resources to find the right materials at a good price. I would definitely have him back.

First and foremost, he was very accurate with his estimate. This allowed us to expand the bedroom renovation work to include the replacement of moulding & doors elsewhere in our home. He also provided aesthetically-pleasing, yet practical solutions when necessary. For example, we wanted to add a large ceiling fan to the 2nd floor bedroom, but we knew it would need to be recessed because of limited ceiling height. The solution TJ suggested was attractive and cost-effective, and the ceiling fan is now the centerpiece of the bedroom. We hope to do a bathroom renovation next year, and we'll be calling on TJ once again for that project!

Schumacher Contracting tore out our old master bathroom - then helped us select tile, vanities, fixtures etc and installed our new bathroom. He even suggested new lighting that we love. We are very happy with the results. It looks terrific and the ending price was very close to the beginning estimate, even though several things were changed as we moved forward with the work. He offered helpful design tips throughout the job and we were able to select options that would save money or add style to the room. TJ had to deal with a wall that noticeably curved behind the vanity, as well as other minor issues and was able to work through everything and provide a great finished product! He does one job at a time, so you are less likely to get stuck with a half finished project while the contractor goes somewhere else to work. We would happily use him to do more projects. The only problem we had was with scheduling. He is very busy and our job got unexpectedly pushed back by a few months - so if you are on a tight schedule this may be a problem. Other than the leaking issues we were having with the old bathroom which he tried to help with, the schedule change was not a crisis and we ended up very happy we waited and went with Schumacher Contracting.

Overall, TJ was great to work with and he did a very nice job on our new kitchen. We feel very confident in the quality of work that he did and we feel the cost was very fair for a project of this size. At the initial meeting, he walked us through what our kitchen renovation would look like and gave us good ideas and feedback on some of our plans. He helped set us up with a supplier for cabinets and was available for questions as the process went along. He also gave us accurate allowances for many of the purchases that we made ourselves. When it came to scheduling the start date of the project, there was some miscommunication about the time frame that we preferred, which we were not happy about, but he worked with us to make sure we could find another suitable time to start the project. Once the renovation started, the work was done well and was completed relatively quickly. On a couple of occasions we would have liked TJ to be a little more proactive about keeping us informed of timing, progress, etc, but if we ever had a question he was always very responsive. We are very satisfied with our new kitchen and the rest of the work that TJ did for us. He uses quality materials, is honest and helpful when it comes to giving his thoughts about different aspects of the project, and most importantly, the work was done right the first time. If you are they type of homeowner that needs or would like a lot of hand-holding and tons of detail, you may find it a little frustrating to work with TJ at times, but he is always available and responsive to questions. We would certainly recommend TJ to any friends or family looking to have work done on their homes.

We didn't end up using TJ, only because of scheduling. He was very helpful, answered all of our questions, gave me a price quote and then revised it for me when some of my requirements changed. If I had a need in the future, I would definitely call TJ again.

TJ is one of the nicest and honest contractors that we have ever worked with. His prices are reasonable and he is prompt and returns calls. His ideas are creative and he is very sensitive to working within one's budget. They did a very nice job and we would definitely hire him again.

We first contacted TJ when we had a leak in our shower that no one was able to find. Not only did he come out the day that I called him, his estimate was more than fair and he started the job very quickly. TJ was able to resolve our water issue while giving us a much more beautiful shower than before. He tore out the old shower and tiled it for us and we couldn't be happier with how great it looks. You would never even know he was at the house after he left for the day because he's very clean and tidy. After our bathroom was done we immediately asked him to replace our kitchen floor, which looks so much better than we could have anticipated. That job was done in one day and once again we were more than happy with his work, professionalism, cleanliness and responsiveness. We plan on working with him on many more home projects in the future and are so happy we found him!

TJ is a great person to work with. He listens and works with you to understand what you want. Very professional, prompt and courteous. He also takes care to make sure that you are getting the best price possible for the work.

After we moved into our new house, we prepared to add glass walls to a partially completed walk in shower. TJ assessed the problem and showed us that the people who had installed the shower did not set the shower curb correctly. The shower curb was pitched outward and water would flow away from the shower and buildup next to the glass walls. The correct solution was completely replacing the shower basin and curb. In addition, he recommended a new floor tile in order to minimize any visual effects from the walls not being completely square. All the work was completed with extreme professionalism and care, The shower basin was removed with minimal disturbance to the items around it and the replacement basin was constructed quickly. The shower floor tile came out beautifully and TJ retiled the shower walls to match the existing tile. TJ was sensitive to our concerns about expense and made recommendations accordingly. This winter, we were concerned about a dripping noise and we called TJ since we were worried that a pipe had cracked overnight. TJ was here right away and then returned later to do a more thorough inspection. We were relieved to find that it was not a problem at all. TJ treated our house and our problem as if it was his house and his problem. We highly recommend.

From the moment my wife and I met TJ we knew he was the contractor we wanted to take on the big project of completely remodeling our kitchen. He was easy to talk to and work with and guided us through each design decision with his expertise on modern trends. We first contacted TJ several months ago, not sure if we wanted a complete gut job or if we just wanted to touch up the kitchen a little bit. He stuck by us through the decision process and continued to work with us until we finally made the decision to move forward. He was helpful with additional contacts for us to use in the process as well. I would highly recommend TJ and his team to work on your house and take on your projects. Sometimes the hardest part about finding a contractor is feeling comfortable with inviting that person in to your home and being able to talk with them and ask them questions without them making you feel silly. TJ and his team were great and we are disappointed the job is over and he won't be stopping by again soon.

We recently moved to the area and wanted to make some significant changes to our home. Our first project was a complete remodel of the master bath. We found TJ Schumacher through Angie's list and could not be happier with the choice. TJ is professional and seeks to understand what we wanted to accomplish while providing valuable insight and suggestion based on his experience. His work is first class and most importantly he completed everything on time and budget. We are using him again on more remodeling projects for the house.

We had a leak coming from bathroom upstairs. I reached out to TJ and he stopped by on Labor day to look at the problem. He and his team came in, figured out what the issues were, and checked with me prior to providing any work above what was quoted. Work looks really good and was professionaly installed. I will definitely use them again

It went extremely well! I could not have asked for a better job or a more professional contractor. Tony came out and removed the old window and found that the new window which I purchased would require additional work and materials to install. Tony went above and beyond to install the window, at one point, working through unexpected rain showers in order to keep my house dry. I would recommend Schumacher Contracting to anyone looking to have work done on their home and will definitely use them again on my future projects.

It went great! We couldn't have been more pleased. We were impressed with the level of detail and thoroughness of the work-you can just tell that its quality work. They were very clean, they left the place very clean every day when they left. They were very friendly. Our bathroom fan was not working and though that was not part of the initial scope of work, they fixed that as well. When they left, they cleaned up everything and vacuumed-- You would not have known that there had been any work done there. Price wise they came exactly where TJ had estimated.

Awesome. I have hired TJ for a few odd jobs over the years. When it came time to remodel my office, I definitely wanted a bid from TJ's company. I can tell you that he is honest, easy to work with, and does what he says. He has the ability to solve problems that crop up and will always follow through. I have heard many horror stories of contractors that never show up. That was never an issue with TJ. I am very happy with how my office turned out.

I was contacted by Schumacher Contracting within days of sending an email after finding them on Angies List. After contact they were out within days to look at the damage, take photo's and measurements. I explained what I wanted to have done and T J provided a preliminary quote within days. Obviously due to the bad winter, I was not going to start the work until Spring and they were fine with that. This was my first Homeowners Claim ever, it was a horrible experience as far as working with my mortgage company, they held all the funds and would only release a portion, I found it to be embarrassing to expect a contractor to come out and start all this work and not have the money available to start payment, but T J was so understanding, explaining he deals with the mortgage companies all the time and he understands the process and not to worry. T J was very professional and patient because of course, being a woman, I had to change my mind halfway through the build as to something I wanted different, T J was very accommodating. I now have a beautiful covered porch to enjoy quiet day and nights on. I would absolutely use Schumacher Contracting in the future.

This was my first experience with a remodel and I was quite nervous with the process of hiring a contractor. I selected Schumacher Contracting for this project based on the positive online reviews and wanting to hire a local contractor. I felt completely at ease with Schumacher Contracting (TJ) and his crew. TJ kept in constant communication with me during the entire project. He went the extra mile in getting the finishes I desired at reasonable prices. Everything in the bathroom was to be replaced except for the whirlpool tub. I wanted the tub faucets replaced with fixtures that were the same finish as the other surfaces in the bathroom. Installing the new faucets was a challenge because of the faucets shape and size and space limitation on the tub deck. TJ spent a lot of time, patience and perseverance in successfully installing these faucets. He is detailed oriented and it shows in his workmanship. I highly recommend Schumacher Contracting. I look forward to working with TJ on future projects.

TJ did a good job of removing two old deck posts and putting up three new ones. He was professional and a pleasure to work with. If i have any other projects, TJ will be my first call.
