Funari Public Adjusters responded to our call for help immediately. They were professional, always explained everything until we understood it, and most importantly knew how to interact with the insurance company. They worked with us to compile a thorough personal property claim, but where they really shine is their experience in all aspects of rebuilding following devastation. They have contacts in the major areas of electrical and HVAC, and they can get engineers and other experts to the site in a matter of days. They are not hesitant to challenge the insurance company, and they do so over and over when they know they are right. They are professional in every sense of the word, respectful, responsive and proactive for their clients. When tragedy strikes, we would not want anyone else advocating on our behalf with the insurance company.
Description of Work: We experienced an electrical panel fire in July 2016. This type of fire burns a house from the inside out, affecting every wire and destroying floors, ceilings, and walls from the basement to the attic, most extensively in the portions of our home closest to the panel. However, the resulting soot and smoke permeated the entire house. We had structural issues, a damaged heating system, ruined duct work, a cracked sewer pipe, and an electric water heater that did not work once power was restored. We lost appliances large and small, furniture, mattresses, carpeting and other flooring, attic and crawl space insulation, and an entire bathroom. We were out of our home for 8 months, and since we did not receive temporary power until the fall, the few pieces of furniture we did have were damaged by mold during the hot, humid summer.

I called Funari Adjusters and they came out right away, reviewed my policy, and handled my claim from start to finish. They did an excellent job and got me a great settlement. The house is now back in order and looking better than before. I highly recommend using Funari to anyone that has damage in their home.

Smoothly and fast and clean
Description of Work: I had a pipe burst in my basement and my plumber recommended that I hire a Public Adjuster to present my claim to Nationwide. I hired Funari Public Adjusters and Chris came out and oversaw my entire claim to the point where I had a great settlement that I know I wouldn't have gotten on my own. The easiest way for me to tell that is that FPA came back three different times with different checks for my settlement after revisions were made. They came out, measured out the property for what was applicable, met with my insurance company and then three times over got more and more funds released as things went along. Thank you guys!! Stephen Funari with Funari Public Adjusters assisted me with a very difficult house fire situation in Philadelphia. My father had been residing outside the country and rented his house out due to inability of getting it sold. I became the reluctant landlord to some tenants whom I neither selected nor was able to communicate with directly since the tenants do not speak any English. Unfortunately, the house caught on fire in early Feb. 2014. I live with my family in a state that is two thousands miles away. To make the matter worse, the tenants were difficult and uncooperative to put it mildly. A public adjuster showed up at the fire and started giving the tenants lots of misinformation without even knowing who the landlord was. I did not know Steve but received a recommendation for him. I really didn?t feel comfortable with the guy who showed up at the door step and decided to call Steve. Steve was very professional and informative. On the contrary, the other adjuster started bashing Funari Public Adjusters when I informed him that I had selected Steve, and he continued to call me during a very difficult time for me. I made Steve aware of the fact that I was under insured, he nevertheless took my case. He immediately started to arrange the emergency response team to secure the property and took full responsibility. The response team was slow, and Steve waited out there in the cold late into the freezing winter night. He walked through the smoke-filled house to take over 100 pictures of the property to keep record on my behalf. Steve communicated with the insurance company on my behalf throughout the process and helped me deal with those very difficult tenants. He was extremely responsive and provided much comfort and reassurance. When the tenant issue elevated to the point that legal representation become necessary for me, Steve was able to recommend an excellent attorney. Even after retaining legal counsel, Steve continued to provide comfort for me since the attorney was a bit anxiety provoking at times. In the end, the insurance paid out the claim and the tenants? issues resolved. I am not sure what would have happened without Steve, but I am almost certain that it would not have worked out this favorably. Steve and Funari Public Adjusters truly have their clients? best interest at heart and their fee was worth every penny of it! I can not thank Steve enough for his services and I whole heartily recommend him for anyone who needs representations in dealing with an insurance company.

Following all the rain and the hurricane we had this summer, I had considerable water damage, the most distressing of which was ceiling damage (fallen plaster) to a bedroom. It was suggested that I call a Public Adjuster before contacting my insurance company. There were no Adjusters on Angie's List, so I consulted the Better Business Bureau. That's where I found Funari Public Adjusters. I called and set up a time to have the property inspected. Chris arrived about 1/2 an hour late, but did call to say he would be late. He inspected the property and informed me that he would be contacting my insurance company on my behalf. Due to all the claims this summer, and the fact that I was on vacation for 2 weeks, it took about 1 month to have the insurance adjuster meet with Chris at my house. (Both men showed up on time.) It then took approximately 2 weeks to receive the settlement check. at that time, Chris was prepared to file a dispute of the settlement amount, but by this time, the holidays were approaching and I really just wanted to get to repairing the ceiling and other damage. (You can't clean anything, because the insurance adjusters need to see exactly what happened and how.) This was my first time using a Public Adjuster, and i suppose they got me more money than I would have gotten had I filed the claim myself. But after factoring in their percentage of the total check, I probably came out the same. I would call them again, but only for major, extreme damage. I gave them an overall grade of B not based on the quality of their work, but rather their percentage of the settlement check. Other adjusters had a lower percentage rate, but as it was an extremely busy time, several that I called failed to return my call, or simply didn't show up at the agreed upon time. Chris was prompt, attentive and very helpful.
Description of Work: Chris Funari (the Adjuster) inspected the property damage, and filed a claim on my behalf with my homeowners insurance company. He then met with the adjuster from the insurance company. The settlement check was mailed to Funari Public Adjusters in both of our names. They get 35% (their compensation) of the check, and I get the balance. At this time, they can dispute the check amount if they feel you are entitled to more money. I chose to end the process at this point.
