Dishonest, unprofessional and incompetent. That about sums up this company. I've been waiting to write this review because I've been disputing a charge that was erroneously made to my card by this company. Where do I start? Well my tenants were having an issue with no hot water. I call Mr. Rooter because I want to have the issue resolved quickly, Rooter comes out on a Saturday (2/28/15). They call me with a diagnosis (which they charged $240 just for a diagnosing the problem) and tell me that the issue is with the shower diverter and that it has to be replaced. I say ok, a few hours later they call and tell me that they have to cut a hole in my wall because they can't get to the diverter through the front and that the cost is going to go from $500.00 to $1000.00 because they have to cut a hole in the wall. Ok, just do it, I want the issue resolved. I get called a few hours later "Sorry sir but we misdiagnosed the issue and should have observed that the hot water was an issue throughout the house" They then reduce my bill to $400.00 to cover the "diagnostic" fee and parts for replacing the shower diverter since they completed work on my shower that didn't need to be done (how I'm charged for a misdiagnosis, I have no clue) They then tell me that the issue is with my boiler, which runs the hot water, but the current plumber doesn't work on boilers, but they can have another plumber come out on Wednesday to fix the issue. I say sure, its March, it's cold, and my tenants need hot water. Wednesday comes around they send out another plumber, make another diagnosis and tell me that the mixing valve on my boiler needs to be replaced and this will resolve the hot water issue. I say ok, fix it, this time it will cost me $800.00 bucks (they mention something about a discount for becoming a member). Hours later, Guess what, "sorry sir but replacing the mixing valve along with bleeding the system didn't work, we think it's the coil that needs to be replaced and this will cost $1700.00 total. I say ok because I want my tenants to have hot water. Following day a big snow storm hits so they can't come out. I get a call the following day after the storm, I ask them to come out over the weekend to finish the job, they inform me that they can't come out because they have other jobs lined up. I say ok, you guys are putting me between a rock and a hard place. My tenets have no hot water and you're telling me that you can't come out until the following week to finish the job, I might have to go with another company. Next thing you know my credit card is charged for $1000.00. I immediately call and asked why I was charged, they inform me that it was for work they completed so far. I ask how can you charge me for an incomplete job and for work that was completed due to a misdiagnosis? They informed me that they were at my house for an entire day and that they have to be paid for the work they did. I then called the Corporate franchise to inquire about their billing practices, to no avail the Franchise was no help, left a message with their customer service complaint division and received no call back. At this point I feel like I'm stuck, so I try to schedule Rooter to come out and finish the job the following Monday. They inform me that they can't come out until Friday (main issue was that my tenants worked during the day and had a dog and didn't want someone in the house while they weren't home, thats why I tried to have Rooter come over the weekend). I inform Rooter (service rep "Mike") that I have to go with another company to complete the work because I am not waiting for another week for them to come finish the job, which may not be diagnosed correctly anyway. I then ask to be reimbursed the $1000.00 that was erroneously charged to my account. Again they gave me the run around and then offered to refund me the $400.00 they charged me from the first visit, I said no because I was charged $1000.00 for work that was done incorrectly due to a misdiagnosis, I wanted a full refund. Finally I told them I was going to dispute this charge with AMEX. I then got another company to come out the following day and they diagnosed (CORRECTLY) the issue and fixed everything within one day. Now to show you the dishonesty of this company. While going through the dispute process with AMEX, AMEX asked for proof that work was completed. Rooter, sent in a billed receipt for services rendered that I never received myself. Also on this bill, Rooter claimed that I was informed of both issues from the beginning (mixing valve and coil) and that each job would be billed separately. This was just a blatant lie. They also claimed that my first contact with them to resolve the issue was when they came out on the Wed (3/4). and not the Sat (2/28). when they misdiagnosed for the first time. A word of caution, please do not use this company. They're dishonest, unprofessional, and incompetent. I will be reporting this company to the BBB.

They called back immediately, got a plumber the next morning. Diagnosed problem. Didn't give up until it was fixed. Found other problems under sink and fixed them too. Nice guy, respectful, competent.

Mike, the plumber, arrived on time and was very personable. The work was done quickly and professionally.

Late night call. Prompt service and the issue was fully corrected. Jeff was very professional and responsive. Very pleased!
