The company came out to my home in 2011 to perform a routine evaluation on my heating and air conditioning system. The only service required at that time was cleaning of the unit and replacing the filter. A Sila customer service rep called me again a few weeks ago to see if I wanted them to come out to inspect my system this season. Subsequently, since I was so pleased with them in 2011, I agreed to have them come out again. The only services that I needed this time were cleaning of the unit and replacing the filter again. I am completely satisfied with the company and would definitely use them again.

We scheduled the appointment and the technician arrived on time. He did a thorough cleaning, making needed adjustments, clearly tagged valves, and oiled circulation pumps. He cleaned the area around the boiler before leaving. Clearly explained what he was doing, and shared that the age of the boiler makes it impossible to get parts and we might want to consider replacing it.

Paid a lot of money to have my problem NOT solved.

They were on time, concise and were very tidy.

I was very impressed with their professionalism and their thoroughness. There is no doubt in my mind that he did a better job than any of the other prior vendors who we have used in the last 15 years. Without hesitation, I would recommend them to others.

I had quite a few companies come out to give quotes on various designs and ideas for how to best handle the work. I have a smaller house, which actually makes it more complicated when it comes to running duct through the house. Ralph from Sila was one of the only salesmen that actually measured each room, took the windows into account in each room, and ran some calculations based on those measurements. It seemed like something every company should have done. The quote was above average, but between the other good reviews on the site and the previous headaches my previous hvac system as a whole gave me, I was willing to pay a little more to have a quality job done. The guys that came to install came on time every day, set up dropcloths everywhere they walked, and cleaned up at the end of every day. They answered every question I had and even took an old radiator out of my tiny attic and brought it over to the garage for me. The final design was a little different from the original plan when I was quoted, but it was in a good way since they figured out how to add ducting through the whole house, and I only lost one tiny corner of a room for a visible soffit. It's been a few months so I've been able to test the system and it works great. The bills are actually not what I was hoping to save, but I have a lot of patching around the house to do from removing the old baseboards. I removed the old baseboard pipes myself and created the soffit around the exposed duct to save some money off the quote. I'm anticipating the bills to be lower next winter after I seal the house up. The only reason I did not give it an excellent overall experience was because a few days after the work was done, my girlfriend got a flat tire. We found a drywall screw in there, called Sila, but they did not believe they should really pay towards the tire. I have a stone driveway, so the screw could have easily been dropped and overlooked, but I think when you take A + B it's pretty obvious the screw was from the work done the previous week. Regardless of that, the work that was done was top-notch from what I can tell, and what I would expect from the price. I also signed up for the five-year maintenance plan, where you supposedly don't pay anything towards the system for the next five years. If I have to use that for anything I'll report back with a review. As for now, I'm happy overall with the work.

Whole house humidifier had been checked as part of an existing service contract with a different HVAC company. Soon after the inspection we discovered that our basement was flooded- there was a leak from the humidifier; we were not satisfied with the response from the existing HVAC service provider. We called SILA and within 2 days they were out and replaced the Humidifier. They accomodated my working schedule, they were on time and did a good job installing the new humidifier.

They performed a full cleaning of the furnace, replacing filters and vacuuming out heat exchanger. They identified that a previous repair person installed an incorrectly sized nozzle (as per furnace specs) and replaced the nozzle with one that was within the furnace specs. After the cleaning they performed various measurements to confirm that the furnace was performing within original manufacturer specifications. They were fast, efficient and I will definitely call on them again.

The heater started making noise so I called Sila to have someone take a look at it. Due to my own schedule, I couldn't have someone out that day. Unfortunately, the noise was being made by a loose part on the blower fan which during this extra day came free and broke many fins on the blower fan. The service technician arrived exactly on time and determined what pieces needed to be replaced and possible maintenance that should be considered to prevent the problem from happening again. He presented me with about 6 options ranging in price. Most of them were far more extravagant than I needed, but he presented them as options and never tried to talk me into a more expensive option than I wanted. Once I decided on the level of repair I wanted, he quickly called to find the correct parts, picked them up nearby and installed them. The whole thing took about 4 hours. He was very respectful of my house and put covers on his boots every time he came in. He also cleaned up after himself so it looked as if he had never been there at all. The service technician spent time explaining to me what caused the problem and how to prevent it from occurring in the future. He was really very good. My only concern was that it seemed very expensive, but being a first time homeowner I'm don't have a good idea of what these things should cost. I think you get what you pay for and the service was very good which is reflected in the price.

Heater stopped working properly the night before and kept turning off after a few minutes. The heater tech came out for the service call the same day at about pm found the issue quickly and made the correction. They have very good customer service and are very accommodative to busy schedules.

I will definitely use this company again and plan to call them back in the spring to perform tune up on our air conditioner.

Great, had them additionally hook up a humidifier that had been previously installed but not completed (prior owner) and its working well the additional cost for that was $120.00

We obtained four detailed estimates on Central Air for our 1939, 2600 sq ft stone home, two story with two additions. We knew the installation would not be easy and was interested in not only cost, but the ability to install one system throughout the home. Sila came up with an installation that would meet our objectives and at a reasonable cost. The other companies suggested separate wall units for one or both of the additions, but Sila was able to do everything off one system, We elected to go with conventional A/C rather than high velocity which uses smaller ducts and is more expensive. The workmen arrived right on time every day, they were clean, courteous and quiet. The work was done professionally and the vents look great. They took pains to see what we wanted, and to meet our requests. I think we will enjoy the house this summer and for many summers to come.

We had a heat pump that was 17 years old, in addition we have pellet stove to supplement it when needed. We came home to 63 degrees after a day out to find that the heat pump had stopped working. Since it was such an old and inefficient unit we opted to look into replacing it. Our heating situation was not dire since we had the pellet stove, so I called Sila, and Matt came right out the same day, impressive because before he came in he put shoe covers on, everyone of the Sila personnel did also. He measured our house to be sure the new unit would be up to the task. We then discussed options, Matt was very efficient and I feel we got a fair deal. I think we may have been able to get it done for less, but not this unit. We have the highest efficiency unit available to save money every month. Our old unit had a Seer rating of about 7.0, the new one is over 19. In addition we got an iComfort tstat with the installation that we can adjust from anywhere with our smartphones. The installation was done by Nguyen, Rich, and led by Mike. Mike did a site prep the day before and Nguyen was here bright and early of install day. Again, shoe covers and drop clothes!! They worked through the day and did an amazing job, and when they left we were very satisfied!! Definitely I will recommend them for anyone needing heating service. Great Job!!

Sila not only installed this humidifer, we also had a plugged up drain hose from the humidifier that leaked. (I provided the drain from the 2nd floor to the washroom on floor one.) Sila came out and unplugged the drain free of charge and in just 1 day after I called them, I am impressed.

Heat went out Friday night (gas, the auto-igniter went out), I called around a bit Saturday morning, Sila was the only one I got hold of that could get someone out same day. They were fast and got the job done. Of course there is always the bill... Just getting someone out is $90 which is definitely too much, but the $30 off coupon pretty much makes up for that. The repair/replacement portion was [at $290] more than I was hoping but pretty close to what I was expecting, so not terrible. I may have been able to get $100 or so off the total by calling around and waiting, but for same day service and getting the heat back on with less fuss? To me it was worth the difference. In the end, $350 for [less than] an hour of work to get a ~$120 part installed isn't nothing, but for a semi-emergency repair: convenience gets my business.

The people who came were prompt and professional. But I am not sure if any "tune up" was done other than furnace checks. Two people came to perform the tune up and they clearly explained how my system was functioning after the tune up was complete. They explained couple of things needed replacement and said their service plan would cover them. I passed on the plan as I was not totally convinced that that is what I need.

I can't say enough good things about this company. I was so pleased by their professionalism that I eventually purchased a maintenance agreement for both the furnace and the air-conditioner unit. We did have some problems with our furnace, but they diagnosed and fixed both problems quickly and efficiently, including one service call on a Sunday morning! I called at about 8:00am and the technician was here by 9:00am...on a Sunday! Both service calls were handled through the service agreement and did not cost any additional money. We are VERY satisfied with their service, and will continue to use them in the future.

Oil heater was emitting strange smells and sounds, which, as a new homeowner, I could not decipher. Called Sila on Tuesday afternoon with a heater maintenance coupon that I found on angies list. Call was answered right away by a nice and efficient agent who answered all my questions, knew all about prices and had me scheduled for an appointment next day. Frank from Sila was punctual, professional, straightforward, explained what he was doing, and was meticulous in everything he did. He cleaned the exhaust flue for the burner (it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years), exchanged filters, replaced oil nozzle and calibrated everything. He also suggested that chimney should be checked, and a CO monitor installed. It was a messy job but he left everything super clean. Overall this is the most positive experience I've had with a company on Angie's list and I will definitely call them again.

They did a great job. I had them come out and inspect my furnace before the change in season. I then signed up for a plan where they guarentee the quality of my units or will replace them for free.

This is the second year in a row that I have used SILA for this service. Once again they were prompt, professional, and courteous ------with no hard sell tactics. I will use again, and highly recommend their services.
