This company takes advantage of the elderly.  My 87 year old father was talked into expensive pumps and switches. The company uses unlicensed workers and did not get required permits even though it was in the contract.  They left the work areas a mess. We had to have American Express hold up the payment before they would schedule an inspection with the Palm Beach County Building Department and Brighton's work FAILED to pass inspection.  The inspector said that some of the electrical work was a fire hazard. Overall, it was a terrible experience for very old people to have to endure. The follow up is that just over a year later, there was a leak from the pipes and pump that Brighton installed and when checked, it was caused by insulation material and a towel that was stuffed down into the pipe.  Do not use this company!!!

They are nasty, I have spent over $7000, and they still haven’t fixed the switch, it still doesn’t work, they have bilked me out of all that money. There are two owners, one is Larry Bennet, and he is nasty. They don’t return my phone calls, and they don’t stand up behind their work. I even threatened to take them to the small claims court, but they never called back, I am so busy, that I don’t even have the time to do that. I just gave up. When they came to fix the switch, in the process they told me that the box in the garage, and the box on the outside of the house were not good, and that they could cause a fire and so on, and that they had to replace both of them. When they replaced both of those boxes, they also put in a circuit breaker that was too much to handle, and it caused a problem with my air conditioner, which failed. They wouldn’t own up to that although the air conditioning people said that because they had put in the circuit breaker and made it so high, it made the compressor work harder and longer than it should have, and therefore, ruined it. They would not take responsibility for that either. I would tell my friends and family to stay away from them. The work that I had called them for, wasn’t done, the switch still doesn’t work. In my stupidity, I allowed them to rework a switch in my kitchen, and that’s a mess, I have two exposed outlets, and they never covered them. Also, the box they put in was smaller than the original box, and when they did that, unbeknownst to me, there is a narrow gap between the box and the stucco. Apparently, the builder of the house when he built the house, he put the box over a cinder block and didn’t stucco that part. Now, when they have put in a smaller box, they have left the cinder block showing, and when I had the house painted, the morons who painted the house didn’t even bother to tell me that, they just painted over the cinder block. Now I have a leak in my house that has destroyed my house. I have had people in, and they could not get over the kind of shabby work that was done in my house. I have spent a fortune, and there is not one project that was done correctly, that I do not have any problems with now. The overall experience was very bad, I thought that they were sleazy, and they duped me for money. I told people how much they charged me, and they laughed, are they professionals? When I called the owner to talk to him, he was rude, uncooperative, and couldn’t care less.

The company seems nice. The workers were polite and seemed to know what they were doing. They came out within two or three days. I have not had any trouble with it. I liked that they had a ten year limited warranty. One thing that does concern me is that they have not been out to inspect the work. They have been unresponsive to my calls about having the inspection. I really want them to come out to do the inspection, and would like to know why it hasn't been done yet.

Brighton Elec took my information and their tech Scott came out the next day to survey the problem.  He checked all wiring inside n out. He sat down with us and explained what needs to be done.  He gave us a couple of estimates.  He was friendly and knowledgeable.  2 days after that they came out and replaced the wiring and fuse boxes and scheduled a date for part 2 with lousy FPL.

Brighton came on time prepared to work and FPL didn't show but again did what they could despite FPL. They labeled the fuse boxes and checked every outlet inside and out. The guys...headed by a tech named Brett even waited a bit after they were done while I got on the horn with FPL.

FPL did come out later on in the evening and Brett and the boys were willing to come out but again FPL didn't know if they could come back out to turn the electricity that evening so I decided against it.  FPL assured that the next day the will be out.  Again Brighton came out prompt and ready to go and so was FPL finally.  Brighton replaced the meter pole and the inspector tested everything inside out.  The work was done.

Brighton's tech's were very professional and came to the job ready to work. Great customer service.  Take note FPL!!

I was greeted at the door by two gentlemen who seemed friendly, and they solved the problem quickly. It was a minor problem. I asked them if they could check a few other minor things while they were here such as the lamp post light in the front yard which wouldn't go on, and they did that. Then they checked the outlets around the house to make sure they were all working properly. Then I noticed a lot of other things that needed to be done, but he informed me that I needed to buy certain supplies ahead of time so that they could repair them. They seemed a little bit rushed. Maybe they were just fast workers. They seem knowledgeable, and I would call them again. Again, they were nice and he even gave me a suggestion that a handyman could help me out since I had so much to do around the house.

Terrible. They came almost immediately. I thought that was a good sign, but they are crooks. They said it was going to be 160 dollars and it ended up being 223 dollars. They gave me a 10% discount but still, that's no big deal. They use scare tactics. They implied that my wires were very old. They pulled the electrical box and did some damage to my wall. They tried to talk me into getting new wiring but I didn't have the money. When they left they put a mess on the floor. I would not recommend them or use them again.

When they came out they immediately tried to sell me a new circuit breaker and they tried using scare tactics to get me to sign up. They told me if I didn't replace the unit it could cause a fire in the walls, they damaged my wall taking the panel off and also told me my breaker had no repairable parts. They also quoted me a price over the phone and ended up charging me more than $60 more. They were obnoxious...
