Pro-Action did a horrible job. They were hired by our Public Adjuster to provide smoke remediation services after a fire in our house. We had to keep going back to them for months later since since the smell remained. They were also responsible for cleaning the house and packing up contents. They left 30% of our stuff unpacked, laying around, uncovered and unprotected even though they were made aware workers would be pulling down drywall and making a mess. ELectronics were left unprotected and ended up covered in dust and ruined before we spent many weekends cleaning and packing up what they were supposed to have done. We opened just 2-3 boxes they packed and found heirlooms broken and pieces of broken glass strewned around --- their packing was so haphazard and careless that we figure our expensive China, cutlery & ceramics will also be found damaged when we unpack them. Plus Pro-Action was unreliable, had bad attitude and left the job half completed. Only when we complained about the lack of any smoke remediation did we get an attempt to finally address it from senior Manager, Mike who did provide some smoke remediation services (that his staff never attempted) months after the fire. But zero follow-thru on promises to address broken stuff before we found our Miele vacuum broken and unusable. We're likely to find alot more broken & damaged based on the few boxes we opened but Our insurance has paid them already so we doubt we'll have any recourse. WHY DOES ANGIE'S LIST certify this company when the only reviews written here are awful? I've heard Enservio does a good job so try them and forget about Pro-Action.

This was a claim against the city so I have yet to see the dollar amount on this. They treated my home like it was a piece of crap and it is FAR from that. Just tossed my personal belongings around without even questioning if they were salvagable or asking for any sentimental value. Kept having to call them to come back because they were constantly leaving. My wife found discarded Chinese food containers in the room they were working in and they just treated my home with total disregard. Still waiting for them to remove the rubble from my back drive today and getting very annoyed.

!Mike and his crew came in, dealt with my panic......then went straight to work for days! With their equipment they cleaned out and sanitized the basement. They were totally professional, kept everything contained in one room and took extra time to block off the top of the stairs. The whole team was respectful and courteous. All debris was taken away and disposed by them. Truthfully, I don't know how they do what they do...but I would recommend them as a #1 choice for any cleanup/ restoration job!
Description of Work: We had a sewer pipe break in our basement. I cannot describe the horrendous mess, smell, and destruction of property!

They came out and were absolutely wonderful. This was a very nasty job, but they came out, worked quickly, and cleaned everything up very well. They were knowledgeable about the work they were doing and explained everything every step of the way. My basement access is in my kitchen, and they managed to keep everything else clean. These guys couldn't get paid enough to do the type of work they had to do. It was an unpleasant job to say the least.

The service was horrible. They came in and there were certain things they said they wouldn't pack. My daughter thought they were on drugs because they were taking breaks and they didn’t want to lift anything more than forty pounds and we had a lot of stuff to be thrown out and cleaned up. One girl from the crew didn’t like our cat because she was allergic to cats and out of her five hour shift, she was probably only in the house for an hour and a half; she kept going outside. They underestimated amount of storage space needed and we had to book another one because they were off by 50% on the volume of things that they were taking out. I called the manager to tell them that they were off the job and of course, when they came back it just wound up because they were going to help with moving in the next place we were going to go to. Most of them looked like they were twenty-six or under so it was hard to believe that they couldn't lift anything more than thirty to forty pounds. They were recommended by our insurance company so all they want to do is send somebody nice and cheap to come in and clean up. They didn’t know how to pack the knick-knacks and glassware and our cabinets. They were just horrible and we ended up having do it ourselves, so my wife, my daughter and I had to all that the next day after the fire. The person I spoke to was Mike McIntyre. We didn’t have to pay them, it was covered by insurance, but we did have to pay for the damage that they incurred. For instance, there was a small piano with a decorative curvature underneath the keyboard at each end and I had told them not to use them as handles to lift the piano, but they did and ripped one of them off. The insurance company had to cover that but the problem was we already had our limit reached sooner than the amount of damage that we needed to be repaired. They didn’t even say sorry for it, we were right there when it happened and I had already told them about it. They also relied on the excuse that they are a carpet cleaning company and they don’t move furniture but my insurance company told me that all of it would be done. Mike told me that if he had known it involved moving furniture, he would have gotten a different crew with him. I think he would have just got some guys of the street to help. I could have done that myself. They did help to take out the damaged trash, books and magazines and we already had the water damaged items in a bag, they had to take all that and throw it in the big dumpster out here. Some of things were just thrown out of the window of the room that had the fire damage and so it hit the dumpster and some fell on the ground. They cleaned it up a little bit but not completely. They did help pack a bit, they did move the boxes that we packed and moved all the furniture and boxes into the storage for us. They didn’t have to clean the carpets because the carpets were a total loss and the apartment had to be totally reconstructed. The girl from the crew was supposed to pack things but the man said that wasn’t their job. What I found that the things that she was packing, she put a cast iron skillet on top of antique china and consequently we took over rather than dealing with them. They were not apologetic for any of that. They did acknowledge that the job was difficult but their demeanor was sloppy. One guy came around and visited them and he might have been their manager or supervisor. When I told him, he just said he understood how we felt but didn’t do anything and just stood there watching what we were going through. They rented a truck, which had none of the equipment, not even bungee cords to try and secure everything. They may excel at carpet cleaning but should not be in moving or cleanup business. They were a bunch of zombies who were careless and in a hurry to finish the job somehow and get out of there.
Description of Work: I used ProAction Restoration to clean up after we had a fire in our apartment. They were to pack all the furniture, fire and water damaged items to the storage and dumpster respectively.

I called Proaction from an ad in the Yellow Pages and spoke to Mike who was very courteous and professional on the phone. He quoted me $170 to do the carpets on a 3 bedroom house. I thought the price was reasonable, so we made an appointment for Friday at 10:00. Friday morning came and the Proaction truck arrived at my house a few minutes early and I could see them out of my window preparing things that they would need to do the job. Right on time, they knocked on my door and explained what they would be doing and how they would go about it. They proceeded to go about their business and a little over an hour later, they were done. They then explained to me what to do over the next day and cleaned up and left. I called Mike the next day to tell him how happy I was with the job. He told me that they also did house cleaning, duct cleaning and flood damage restoration. If God forbid a water pipe ever breaks I know who I will call. I couldn't be happier with their work and professionalism.
