David Newmiller Chimney Sweep

This was an excellent experience all around. He was responsive, gave me a very fair price, and did the job on the date he said he would. I will use him every year to clean my gutters.

Overall everything turned out fine.

Never called me back for an estimate.

They arrived with an hour of my phone call and completed the job quickly. Overall, they were very friendly. I will definitely use them again when needed.

I called Dave, (b/c of rating on Angie's List), left msg, received a call back that afternoon. Scheduled work, Dave was on time (in fact waiting at my curb when I returned home). He is courtious, clean, effiecient. Work completed within the normal time frame. He explained what he was doing, what he found. I asked him about his one bad report due to the fact that he hadn''t respnded and returned a call. He said that he understood the frustration of the possible client, but he became swamped and was not able to get back to that caller. No one on Angie's List had negative things to report about his work. Glad I went with him!

He's been fantastic. He was very nice, professional and punctual. He did a beautiful job.

He never came out. I called twice. Both times he took my name and number and he said he would call me back. I have never heard from him. It appears that the good press he's getting from Angie's List has overwhelmed him.

Service professional never responded to inquiry.

I needed to have my chimney and flue inspected. David had good grades so I decided to give him a try. I called and left him a message. It took him 2 days to return my call. When he did call I could not answer the phone because I was putting my kids to sleep. He said we would be available between 8-10pm. I called him back within 5 minutes of his call and got voice mail. Left a message. Its is 2 days later and I am still waiting for a return call. I called another company and they are coming out to do the inspection.

I called David on Thursday, and he contacted me immediately and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday. He showed up on time, as scheduled, performed the work quickly, and asked me to check it to make sure I was satisfied. He was very courteous, and professional. I highly recommend him!

I realized that I had a problem with a clogged down spout four days before hurricane Irene was going to come through our area. I had never used David Newmiller before but called hoping that he could fit in a new customer. He set up an appointment for two days later even thought I would not be able to be home when he came. He cleaned out the gutters and left the bill for me to pay. I called to thank him and he explained that even though I had gutter guards on the second story that a bird was getting in at the end of the gutter under the gutter guard and had made a nest over the down spout. The birds were able to do this because the gutter guard system was missing the end piece to block entrance under the gutter guards. He was prompt, courtesy and saved me a major problem with the amount of rain that Hurricane Irene dumped on us.

I called Dave 8/12/11 for gutter cleaning , he said he would be out the next morning. Very professional, showed up on time, cleaned my gutters, very good clean up afterwards. Dave did excellent work, would highly recommend him.

I never had the opportunity to use Mr. Newmiller's services, which I had heard were very good. (He had been recommended to me by my ex-husband's neighbors, and he has high marks here on Angie's List.) I called him on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, to introduce myself and to describe the work I needed done. He told me that he was in the middle of a job and that he would call back that night. He never called. I sent Mr. Newmiller a text message on January 20, 2011. I left him a voicemail message on January 21, 2011. He never called. If Mr. Newmiller didn't want my business, he should have told me that when I first called him. It's now been five days since my first telephone call, and he has yet to get back to me. But even if he does, it won't matter. I have found someone else.

David Newmiller was excellent. He is thorough, knowledgeable, and has a lot of experience. He was very clean and made sure the house did not get messy.

I sent an email to David before Christmas. I did not get a response right away. He later said that he was out of town. David called and said that he could come the next day. He came at the time promised. He cleaned the chimney and emptied the ash bin. He was very professional, worked quickly, and did not make any mess at all. He gave me my bill. He was very friendly, courteous, and professional.

He is a very nice guy and is tidy in cleaning the chimney. But he often calls to reschedule. This year, by the time he finally made it out, our gutters were probably too frozen to clean them out properly but he said they weren't too bad. I also think he is a bit pricey. He was at our home less than an hour and charged $160. All labor.

Second time we have used David and both times have been excellent. He is polite, professional and does nice work.

We called and he came the next morning to give us an estimate . He did the work that morning. He came the exact time he said he would. He got on the roof and inspected all the gutters and the screening in the gutters to make sure the screening was in tact. He was very honest. He told us that there was only a small section of gutter that was clogged and the rest was fine. He did an excellect job and removed a lot of debris from the clogged area. Also he caulked a small area where the gutter had pulled away.

This guy was very good. He added his own personal touch while he was working. While he was over, I had a friend visiting with her child. When he was done, he gave the child a piece of red felt and told him that he found it in the chimney. It was a such a neat way to relate to a child in the case of Santa Claus. I will use this company in the future.

Terrible service. He gave my wife a date to come clean the gutters and never showed up. He never called to explain or reschedule. I called, since he had a good rating and I thought there might have been some mistake. He said he had just forgotten and had no excuse, but that he would come out when the temperature got above freezing. He said he would call the following Monday, when it was expected to be warmer. It got warmer and he never never called. Then I called him again and he agreed to come out. He showed up, took one look at our tall bushes near the house, and refused to do the job.

Everything went well. Dave was prompt, professional, and friendly. The new gutters installed over the back of the house fixed the water problem.

Mr. Newmiller arrived promptly and completed the job quickly. Excellent service, very nice man. We would highly recommend.

We never received any service, although we went to Angie's List to find a sweep. I guess we'll try again.

Dave arrived on time and did his work in a clean and efficent manner. However, the most impressive part of his service was when we discovered a problem with the damper after the gas fireplace was installed. We called him and he came out the very next day and fixed the problem at no extra charge.

Mr Newmiller was able to schedule within the week, while other chimney sweeps were telling me I'd have to wait weeks. He was prompt, friendly and nice. He cleaned up very well afterwards - would have never known he was there. He took the time to explain how to lite a fire in the fireplace, knowing I was a beginner. He even gave my 4 year old son a small piece of Santa's suit, which he "found" in the chimney - made my son's day. I will use him again next year!
