Pella Windows and Doors

My husband and I recently ordered (30) custom Pella windows from Lowes for our new home but all of them will all need to be returned. Pella Windows and doors I thought you would like to know how your product is being delivered to your customers. Could someone please let me know how the black window with WHITE grids would have left the warehouse? (Please see picture below that's one of many that came that way). Does anyone look over the orders before they are sent out to the customers location? I have attached numerous pictures of the damaged windows we received. A lot of the windows are not even put together correctly so water would come right through. Please see the pictures attached showing the dents, the scratches and the missing paint. I know I ordered your windows through Lowes but this is your product PELLA and you need to make this right. This puts us so far behind. We had hired help at our house when the windows were delivered yesterday but we couldn't install one of the windows because there is something wrong with all of them. There is nothing stunning about these windows! Do you stand behind your product?

INITIAL SALES EXPERIENCE: Amazing overall. Our sales guy, Nick, came over twice before we decided to purchase. He was a window historian, telling us every detail about every window in our house (all installed by previous owner), including many details that I wouldn't have been able to determine otherwise, such as who manufactured, which might still be under warranty, pros and cons of each brand, etc. He was extremely transparent and thorough regarding options for each window, including which we should not replace vs. the various lines of Pella windows for those that we did want to replace, and we felt absolutely zero pressure to buy anything. INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE: Amazing overall as well. Due to apparent low amount of other jobs on the day of installation, a larger than expected crew of at least 6 guys showed up and they quickly installed all 8 windows in just under 5 hours. They covered the floors before working, and cleaned and even mopped the floors afterward, leaving the rooms cleaner than they were before the process started! PRODUCT: Great product. While maybe on the expensive side, I believe that you get what you pay for, and these windows were a huge upgrade over windows previously installed (many of which had cracked seals, wouldn't function properly, and were installed by a company that went out of business). I really liked the "built-in-blinds" feature that is unique to Pella. OVERALL: Couldn't be happier with the experience and the finished product.

They provided the windows as well as installed them. They were easy to schedule. The had good communication and they did not leave messes. They had nice installations and they came when they said they would come. They have very good windows and they do a good job installing them. I have used them on two different occasions and I was very happy. They are expensive but worth it.

They did the front of the house a year or two before and we liked the quality of their work. The windows and doors are great. The interaction was good.

It turned out wonderful. I like all the features that are in the window. I like the blinds that are in the glass. It is easy to take the blinds up and down. I can roll down the screens. I like the features of the windows that are available.

Randy & his assistant from Randy Kipe Home Improvements arrived as scheduled, right on time. Randy explained what they were going to be doing. Asked if I had any questions. They were both very friendly & ready to work. They laid down protection for the flooring. In no time at all they had removed the old window & were prepping the opening for the new window. I was amazed at not only their speed but their care in removing a large & old bow window. Randy showed me the opening, clarifying that all was well with the framing - no mold & no repairs needed -& that they could proceed with installation. In under 2 hours the work was complete along with cleaning my brand new window & any mess they had made both outside & inside! Not only did Randy do an understanding, professional job, he was very kind & courteous. When our other windows are ready for replacement, we will be calling Randy.

They were very responsive and accommodating to all our requests. I have a old house built in 1925 and the windows and doors were rotting and not functioning. They were unusual sizes and some had unique patterns on them and they were able to duplicate the patterns perfectly. The look beautiful, work easily and should greatly improve the efficiency of heating and cooling my house. I wanted unique hardware that would go with the old style of the house and they went out of their way to help me install them on the windows even though I did not purchase them from them. They were very helpful, friendly and always cleaned up after themselves every day. They were able to finish the project faster than projected and were able to work around my painters whose time overlapped for 1 wk.

The salesman who measured did not take into account the door swing and the existing steps to our living room. There was not enough room for the door to open completely with the existing step. My husband had to take the lower step apart and fix it so that the door would swing open correctly. It was not what I had expected for the price that I paid.

They replaced 6 french doors with 6 sliding doors with interior screen. They were great and their follow up service was very professional.

Todd Logan was a true salesman - very knowledgeable, very courteous and very competitive in his pricing and services. I was choosing between Pella and Matus. In hind sight, I should have chosen Matus. it would have been more expensive but worth the extra money. The installation was not as ideal as I would have liked. They rescheduled my installation appointment 3 times. After the 3rd time, I complained to Todd. Apparently he had no clue that I was rescheduled 3 times. He spoke with his installation crew and they finally did their job. The windows look nice but the caulking around the exterior windows are not as clean as I would have liked. When I complained, Todd sent them back to redo. The redo was slightly better than the first time, but not great. The following year we replaced 3 doors. This time I spent the extra money and used Matus in Ardmore. Definitely worth the extra money. They were on time and came when they said they would come. They were quick and the caulking was so much better than what Pella did.

Arrived promptly, introduced self and helper, used a drop cloth on kitchen floor. Cleaned up when finished. Went over how to operate the patio door and screen. Asked if I had any questions. Work done on time. Installation supervisor stopped by to inspect the work done, left his business card and encouraged me to call him with any problems or questions.

A year later, I still love the windows. It was a very good investment. So far they are wonderful.

The sales representative at Pella Window Store was outstanding. They were very knowledgeable and very nice. It was a great experience. It is the product I'm currently having issues with, not the sales staff. The guy came and apparently they sent me a replacement window person instead of a construction window person. He set up the materials and so when the other guy came everything was ready to go. When Bernie came, he gave me a lot of feedback on the project and making changes, things that the architect had missed for the windows so he really was a great help.

Paul from Pella came and measured and discussed options with us and provided an estimate. It was a pleasant, professional meeting. It was in no way a high pressure sale. After getting several estimates from local companies, we choose Pella. Everything related to scheduling and payment was simple and went without a hitch. The contactor Pella sent to do the actual work, Frank Murray, was fantastic. He and his assistant were professional, efficient and did impeccable finish work. When they were done, there was no trace of mess. I would absolutely seek them out for work in the future.

I was very pleased with them because they brought out a salesman and a contractor that does the work for them. The contractor was very experienced.

The installation went as expected, I am totally satisfied. Not much else to say.

They had to come out to the house three or four times for remedial work. They also left a lot of mess and didn’t treat our home the way we expected it to be treated. They completed the work a month ago, but some of the latches weren’t working. We had to wait about 6 weeks for the new latches to arrive, which was okay with us. There have been no leaks during any rains or storms. There was only one problem with the completed work; they left so much smudge with caulking materials and fingerprints on the windows. We spent many hours cleaning off the smudges. We could clean them from the inside, but it was very hard to clean them from the outside because of the height. The main problem we had was that they had to use scaffolding to install the picture windows because it is so high from the ground. We could not easily get to the outside windows to clean them. We had to ask window washers in our condos association to pay special attention to our new window and it took him quite a while to get it clean. Part of the contract did say that they were responsible for cleaning the windows after the installation was complete. We are not sure if the smudges came from the factory or the workers. I would advise others to be sure that the workers wear gloves and make sure the windows are clean before they finish the job. Overall, the work was very good and we would recommend their services.

Ed Kennedy came out to my house for an estimate to replace front windows. Although we did not get to the point of doing business together I'd like to thank him for his honesty and candor. His advice was most helpful and I would definitely choose Pella for a future job. Thank you

I got a really great door. It is fabulous; it is the best thing in my house. I probably paid too much, but it was okay. The people who came for the installation were great. I think the price was really too high, but they did do a really good job installing it. The price was over $4000, I think it should have been about $2000. Pella was fabulous. I would definitely use them again in the future.

There is a ten year warranty on our house. One of the windows in rotting out. They are coming out to fix it, but I don't know what will happen. They have come out and fixed a locking mechanism. We have a lot of windows that have had repairs. The guys that come out are really good. I like the service but, I wouldn't recommend the windows to anybody.

The windows that they install do not have the '350 series' which is a triple pane window. He told me they would be and told me how amazing they were. It took him awhile to get them. I guess I just assumed the one they were installing was the '350 series' since that's all he told me about. It turns out they installed a lower quality window. I did not ask for a lower quality window, I wanted the ones that I paid for. They were not installed correctly, either. There is a small amount of air that comes through when they aren't locked, the blinds don't raise correctly. I am having all kinds of trouble. I have called them many times, and continue to get the run around. Maybe they are busy, but no one has even managed to reach out to me. I'm very disappointed in my experience with them.
