The work was done within a few hours and the door was functional again.

Technician replaced the gears in the garage door opener. Garage door works like new. Company was very responsive and prompt, but it did take a few days to get on the schedule. Price was good but not great.

My 19 year old garage door opener bit the dust. I had new garage doors installed several years ago by Thomas Giel and liked the work they did at that time, so I contacted them about having a new opener installed. They went over my options and gave reasonable prices. There was a little problem setting up a time for installation, but other than that, everything went smoothly. The installer arrived on time and completed the work in 1.5 hours. I love my new opener - MUCH quieter than previous one! At any rate, I've dealt with this company twice now and would recommend them to others.

Great! This was the 1st garage door I ever bought. The salesman made it easy, the appt for the installation was made & the men were right on time. They were fast, efficient & clean!

After the initial contact, I was able to schedule a service appointment for the next day. The technician arrived exactly on time. He advised me that my garage door opener motor was in good condition, but that the drive gears needed to be replaced. The work was completed in about 45 min at a very reasonable price. I will definitely use Giel Garage Doors again in the future.

Showed up on time (to the minute), estimated work to be finished in 45 minutes and he was finished in in less time. Changed left and right torsion spring gauges and lubricated. Very professional, our door is super quiet now and works great. We would definitely call them again for service.

I called for an appointment on 12/06/2012 late in the afternoon. They called back and said the technician would be at my house about noon the next day. The technician arrived about noon the next day and replaced a gear in the opener and the lock cylinder. The technician was friendly, knowledgeable and wasted no time in making the repairs. My garage door now works perfectly again. This company installed my garage door and opener about 15 years ago. This is the first real problem I have had with it.

I called the Geil company early morning on Nov.21 (2012) to make an appointment for later in the week to repair my garage door that wouldn't close properly due to the sensor mechanism. The receptionist took my message and said she would call me back to set up an appointment after coordinating with the repair technician. To my pleasant surprise, the repair technician called me about 2 hours later and came to my house the same day and fixed my garage door. I had only called him to fix the sensor mechanism, but he noticed that the door chain was also loose and nearly dragging across the light fixture. (I was used to the noise after living with it for so long, and never noticed it but my sister noticed it earlier and said my door made a loud grinding noise.) Once it was repaired, the door closed correctly and quietly. The technician was friendly, knowledgable and professional. This company has been around for many years, and its easy to see why they have a solid and well-earned reputation for service. I had actually called another garage door company that I saw on Angie's List, (they should be removed!) and they never answered their phone, had no answering service, and other times had a busy line for hours! I'm glad I called Geil instead and I highly recommend this company.

I had done about 90% of the removal of the old door so that part was pretty much a non factor. However I did not take down the old automatic opener which I wanted to keep. The two installers Zig and Mike were very careful taking it down and putting it where I wanted it. So on to the installation. The door is a full 16 feet wide. The installers brought the 1st panel off the truck which was the bottom panel, unwrapped it and discovered a very small but also a very noticeable dent on the bottom right side of the panel. Zig told me I had three options; stop the install and request a new bottom panel, install the door and request a new panel, or live with the dent and call the office to negotiate some money off for the damaged panel. I chose to go ahead with the install and request a new panel.The installers did a great job, very neat, very professiona, very knowledgeablel and didnt even seem to mind that I watched every minute of the install (LOL). They were very thorough about cleaning up every nail, staple and any other bits of debris form the garage floor.I woul not hesitate to recommend using these two men for any garage door installation. The new opener is a Linear brand, and although I had not heard of them, am very impressed with how it operates. The new door is exceptionally quiet and operates perfectly. I was told the new panel would be in in about three weeks so as of now i am only a week into it. I would give an overall rating an A+ to the Thomas V. Giel Corporation.

Called about 9:30 AM job completed about 12:30 PM the same day. Kept the parts that were replaced for me to examine. I would have preferred he asked me before he replaced the hinge ($ 8.00) tacked the sheet metal back on. However, I am picky that way and I was home while he was doing the work. The service call was $ 89.00 and a new set of ten rollers cost $ 90.00 I paid by check when the job was completed but the appear to take credit cards. Next time I would ask the repairman to check with me before replacing parts or tacking down sheet metal, etc. Overall: a fast, neatly executed, apparently through job.

They were extremely knowledgeable and were available to come to my house immediately and service the door within the hour. When they left, the door was perfect and ran so much smoother and quieter than before. They fixed the bracket issue and serviced the rest of the door so that it was completely safe.

I thought his price was very fair. The quality of service was excellent. He came right away.

They were great. I am just amazed it worked. They took the old garage door and by put the new opener on and the guy was great. If the garage door doesn’t open and if the car is stuck inside you can’t even take off so they came after hours and did a great job.

I requested an estimate for an awning. They were very prompt in setting up an appointment and came to give an estimate. The installer seemed very knowledgable. The problem is that it has been over three weeks and I have not heard from him. I called him last week and he did not return my call. I have used this company for garage door work and they have done a great job.

Our garage doors were very old and rotted. Thomas Giel replaced the old wood doors with R-17 insulated steel doors. Frank, the installer did an excellent job. While installing the doors he explained how we could install garage door openers. The duct work in our garage prevented the use of a conventioal door opener. Frank installed the openers the next week. He was very neat and again did a great job. Although the type of openers we installed were expensive, it finally allowed us to have garage door openers.

Service call placed on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we received a call shortly after 8am to confirm the problem and offer an arrival time of 2:30-3:30 pm. Promptly at 2:30, Sam arrived. He observed the two doors that were not operating properly and noted that the issue was an adjustment that should have been made during installation or prior maintenance. He made those adjustments and the doors operated normally. He adjusted the chain on one door, noting that it was too loose. On the third door, he observed the door operating and noted that in this case, the chain was too tight and made the necessary adjustment for smooth operation. In discussing how the settings could be wrong, Sam observed that the last door had a number of new components and questioned why. After closer inspection, it appears as though on a prior call with another company, it is likely that the replacement parts may not have been necessary. This company had worked on doors 2 and 3 in the past two years. In addition to the potential that parts were replaced that were not needed, adjustments to the chains and motor tension settings were not properly made. Sam took extra time to show me how to lubricate the doors to better maintain the doors in the future. Throughout the entire call, Sam was very personable and helpful. He appears to enjoy his job and does a great job in representing Thomas Giel Garage Doors.

I was looking to replace two integrated, wooden, garage doors and two garage door openers. I had a number of companies over to talk with me and give me estimates. Thomas V Giel company and staff were very professional. Sales person, John, showed up on time and was very helpful and detailed in his answers. He took very thorough measurements, down to the concrete elevated pad width between the outer edge of the old door and the concrete lip. Explained all installation procedures, timings, functionality differences, price differences and warranties between their supported and recommended lines. He also researched a functional request of mine with LiftMaster and got back to me within a day. In the end, I chose to have (2) C.H.I. 2-inch thick insulated steel doors rated ~17 r-value, along with (2) LiftMaster garage door openers with battery backups, and wireless outdoor keypad. John said that the doors take 3-4 weeks to order and then they would be installed within 10 days of delivery. On September 20th the order went in and on October 6th the old doors, openers, infrastructure were removed; the concrete slab was cut back to handle the thicker door width and the new infrastructure, doors and openers were installed in less than 4 hours by two friendly, proficient, efficient, detail-oriented, careful and tidy installers. The garage was clean as a whistle after they were done. They went thru a quick training class on all components and I was left with instructions and documentation on care and feeding of the new system/doors, including the lubrication of appropriate parts and wash twice a year with liquid wash/wax car cleaner. It is amazingly quiet at the house now and the temperature is remaining constant in the room above the garage no matter what the weather is outside. After living with old doors/openers from the 80's, this is like living in paradise. Although the price to me was a bit steep, the beautiful results, installation speed, attention to detail and cleanliness of area after installation made up for the cost.

Excellent . This is my second experience with them, they had previously installed 2 garage doors at my old house. I was very happy with the work and did not hesitate to call them again. Their prices are not the absolute lowest but I think it's worth it; they do quality work. This time there were a few challenges because the garage is kind of an odd shape and didn't have an existing door, so I needed a custom width (17.5') door, low headroom track, all the framing, and an opener and outlet, which increased the price... but overall it was about what I expected and actually not too much more than then 2 (single width) doors I had installed before. There was a slight communication hiccup along the way where my emails were going down a black hole or something, but we got it sorted out and otherwise no complaints. The crew showed up on time and installed the door, it looks great and sits flush with no gaps, despite the garage itself being slightly out of square which they compensated for during framing.

Went very well. Tech was friendly and professional. Came to replace spring that broke on one of our garage doors two days ago. Also checked the rest of the springs and cables.
