My friend recommended Sullivan, so I had them do a furnace inspection and repair an installation problem from a handyman. Went great. So when the furnace started shutting off, I called Sullivan again. The guy said it was a fuse. He replaced the fuse, charged me $95 and left. Half an hour later, it failed again. He came back again, replaced the fuse again and told me it definitely wasn't the furnace and that I needed an electrician. My general contractor for some other work sent another furnace company over and they fixed it in five minutes (it was the furnace) and told me why it could not possibly have been a fuse or an electrical problem. So I called Sullivan back because they guarantee satisfaction and asked for my money back since it was not what they said and because they left me sitting here in 10 degree weather with no heat. They said they'd call me back about the refund. They didn't.

We were quoted $2000.00 for what seemed outrageous for the requested work order. We immediately canceled the order and the next plumber came recommended from a trusted contractor and completed the job for $500.00. The bid provided by Sullivan is not trustworthy.

They quoted me $400 plus a after hours charge of $95, 3 hours later their tech called me and told me that the price was now $700 plus $95 after hours charge. I called the next day to ask why the price had changed and they never got back to me, so I called again and they still never got back to me so I called a third time and they told me that's their prices. I WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND SUGGEST IF YOU NEED SOMEONE IN AN EMERGENCY DO NOT CALL SULLIVAN'S THEY ARE HIGHWAY ROBBERS

We were quoted $329.16 to have the water heater sensor installed, less a $100 coupon that we had purchased on Angies List for $39. We thought that seemed a bit high but, proceeded anyway thinking we were already out $39 and this was something that we really wanted to have done. We were then quoted $908 to have the outside faucet installed. Except for having to drill through a cinder block wall, the job did not seem that complicated. The water line was running along an inside wall, and we had already purchased the necessary faucet. When asked why it was so expensive, my wife was told "because it is plumbing". We declined having the faucet installed. Although the technician was very professional and courteous, we would hesitate to recommend this company, because of what we felt were excessive prices being quoted. We also would hesitate to pre-purchase any services through Angies List without knowing what the total cost would be before the technician arrives. We thought we were getting a bargain price to check out a company that we could possibly develop a long term relationship with. Instead we felt we were overcharged and somewhat taken advantage of since we had already paid for part of the job through Angies List.

I purchased a furnace tune up offer and found it be useful and good value. The tech was very thorough.

I purchased and Angie’s List special for $39 that included a service call and $100 off any labor needed. The work that needed to be done was to adjust the tank’s water level, install a new handle on the tank, and install a new toilet tank flapper. I had all the necessary parts available. The technician arrived on time and was courteous. He adjusted the tank’s water level correctly, which required turning a screw. However, the charge to install the two tank parts was $107 after the $100 discount. I declined and did the work myself later in less than 10 minutes. It’s a new toilet but I wanted the handle changed from chrome to brushed nickel to match the rest of the bathroom décor. The flapper was an abundance of caution issue as a handy man, not a plumber, had advised me (incorrectly) that that what was causing the water flow problem. I have no problem with the quality of the work that was done but the proposed price for the rest of the work was simply outrageous. I have no problem paying premium prices for premium service but this was not premium service, it was something any qualified plumber could do. I did it and I am not a plumber. Quite honestly I think that the Angie’s List special was just a come on to overcharge. I gave them an “F” overall as I will not call them again nor recommend them. Angie’s List should not permit them to run any specials until they come up with a realistic price structure.

My furnace is two years old and still under warranty. On Dec 13, I called the company that installed my furnace and held the warranty. They told me they could not come out until Dec 22, but I could be reimbursed if I had to call an outside company. I called Sullivan's and they were at my house first thing the next morning. Ryan was my service man and he was VERY professional considering the conditions he had to work under. Then I received a call from the company that installed my furnace and suddenly they can come today. Go figure. When I told Ryan that my warranty company was able to come today, Ryan continued to service my furnace as his company promised. I ended up only paying for the service or diagnostic fee.

Technician Robert called 20-30 minutes before arrival and verified address. When he and co-worker arrived, they covered shoes to avoid marking floor and were quickly able to diagnose the problem and reverse hot and cold lines to proper sides of faucet. Also tightened faucet as much as allowable for this make and model. They did not try to upsell any other services which I appreciated.

When I made the first call, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. A repair man was here within 2 hours (amazing!). He was professional, knowledgeable, forthcoming with information and the possible options, and he was very efficient. He was careful to leave no mess: nothing left behind, no foot prints on the floors or rugs. We had Sullivan come back a week later to replace the boiler, and again the experience was excellent. We've met several service people and they have all been friendly, respectful, thorough and very helpful. I give them the highest recommendation possible.

They did a nice job checking things out, and did a good job explaining what suggestions they had for further maintenance, or the option of eventually replacing our old furnace with a new one.

When he go there, I asked for the hourly rate and about how long it would take, as I needed to get back to work by one. He stated that they now did pricing as a project and not as an hourly rate. The first pricing given to me for my 2 jobs was around $600 to $650. I stated no way could I afford that. He then did some more figuring and came down to $430, which I thought possibly for 3 hours of work was more in the ballpark. I was really caught between a rock and a hard place because I took off from work to be home and I really needed these things fixed. When the actual work was done, which was of good quality, it took about 1.5 hours. I thought $438 for this time period was unreasonable. I called the office and stated I thought this price was outrageous actually. I was contacted later in the afternoon, which I appreciated, but I was told the price was typical of all plumbers in the area and that they need to pay for overhead and training for their business and employees.

Efficient, polite, neat, and timely

gave us an estimate that turned out to be very high. we contracted another plumber we had used on the past and the work was completed for about 40% of Sullivans estimate.

They were able to identify issue. I will have it fixed at the start of next season when needing an a/c

preformed work quickly and did not leave till he was satified that the problem was fixed.

Have used them for years. Always pleased with there service. I would highly recommend them

Both toilets were repaired, however an old, recurring leak started again almost immediately after the technician left. I called to report the problem and another tech came out the next day. He told me the problem was water pressure and, unless I replaced the water pressure regulator (for an additional $800) the leak would continue. The first tech failed to diagnose and advise me of this problem.

I don't think he sealed anything just tightened p y toilet to the wall

He did a great job. It was just one time that they came out. I just got a deal for outdoors faucet.

They were excellent. They were very good. I got a new furnace in the Winter. They were outstanding. They were A's for everything; everything was excellent.

They come every season to check something. I think it's $20 a year; it's not expensive. It's like a maintenance. I found out there's a box on my air conditioning today that should be replaced that they never told me. I've used them for a long time. They also look over my furnace, and I guess there's some kind of GFCs or something that I need on my furnace and they didn't mention that. They're not electricians, so I can't fault them for that.
