Our home was a new construction project. The people in the store were nice enough to talk to, middle of the road on knowledge of their products. I was wanting Spanish or Italian porcelain tile. They could not direct me to any but instead said to find something I like and they can tell me where it is from. I actually ended up going to Pittsburg and picking out my tile. Unfortunately, some time after I had the tile picked out I received a call from the place in Pittsburg letting me know I would not be able to get the tile because there was a fire at the plant and they were going to be shut down for an unknown time. I found a second tile at that store and later received a call that the manufacturer was in the process of moving and would be unable to fill the order for an additional 3 months. I returned to Everything Under Foot. Once I picked a tile the builder arranged for the store to handle the install. Upon their request, we had some sort of metal trim piece installed on the corners and edges. (I very reluctantly agreed, because I was told it was the ONLY way they install tile) It looked awful, VERY cheap looking. My bath tile is not that bright of a white and it just looked terrible. The other problem was the tile had seams all over the place that did not make sense. This was particularly bad around and in the shower. Bottom line, it was all removed. My understanding is it was at their expense. That was a positive. The next install which is what we have now, is of poor quality. First, the tiles throughout the house are not level, the installer did not level the tiles and in some areas it is REALLY bad. As far as the master bath, the tile is all the way to the 10' ceiling in the shower and a few feet up the wall out in the main bath area. Grout lines are inconsistent in width. Many tiles are not level, particularly in the shower. The corners and some edges have very large areas of grout that just seeps out all over. Inside my shower drain, was all full of grout. The grout is all gritty and looks terrible. There are areas that look like pock marks, in the grout. The grout was not properly cleaned up and left shiny smears all over the place. It took a long time to get them to return to clean this. After several texts and phone calls they came and only did the master bath. Had to call them back to do the guest bath and floors. They showed up and only did the guest bath. When I called them back again, to do the floors they said they looked at it and they did not do that?!?! This is after one of them told me he could see it on the floor. Unfortunately I was not home when they came to do these clean ups. I have never written a negative review or made a formal complaint about a company before. I am doing this because I was new to this area and I did not get good guidance on where to shop or who to use. I think everyone deserves good service no matter the cost of the project. With that being said, I would think at some point they realized our home is well above average. We do entertain and we are in contact with a lot of people. They should be concerned enough about customer satisfaction to at least respond to their customers. At one point I even called and spoke with the owner. Thinking this would expedite getting the mess cleaned off the tile. All he had to say was they have been in business for a lot of years and they could not do that if they did not do a good job and give good prices. He also told me he is well aware of our project. I am sure he was if they incurred the cost to remove the tile. However, I also know that he never came out and looked at the poor quality. The called ended with him promising to call me back within 24 hours to let me know when they would be cleaning the tile. You guessed it, he never called. I would NOT do business with them again. Because our home was such a big project their are many people in the community that watched it go up. This means their are a lot of people that talk to me about the process. When we entertain, people want to talk about the house. I have plenty of opportunity to tell people about this experience but I still wanted to put it here in hopes that it will help people like us, new to the community and not sure where to go.
Description of Work: Purchased tile from the store and they provided the install.
