TOM ADAMS Windows and Carpets

The original company wouldn't do spot jobs which left me hanging. I called around and they had the best quote and were quick to come by and fix.

They had no problem doing a single window and the installation was fine. We also paid $12 for a lifetime service contract. Last year I disconnected the window out of it's track while cleaning and they came back and fixed it free (3 years after install). They are pleasant people and answer the phone. Many years before that we had them carpet the main upstairs staircase in the front entry with a runner, then take the carpet around the upstairs hall. This was a tricky little job, unlike carpeting a big room. There was a lot of cutting and fitting. Especially at the top of the stairs around the railings. It's an excellent job and never came loose anywhere. They had bound for us a variety of small runners and a 4 x 6 piece for the front entry out of the excess. We originally called Tom Adams as they had done carpet for our neighbor who recommended them. I would recommend them as careful workers who do a good job. We would call them again. I believe their prices are mid-range for our area.

The work was done well and it was done on time. Everyone was professional.

It was done precisely in line with their time table. Their insulation has worked because looking at them now there are no current problems. I would say we were quite satisfied with them. We did get competitive pricing as well.

My husband and I were looking for new environmentally friendly flooring. Our 10 year old grandson resides with us, as well as my 96 year old mother, and assorted pets. We wanted everyone to feel welcome and comfortable in our home, so we began looking at our local stores. We found that Tom Adams had products we were looking for at reasonable prices. Our orders were placed and delivered according to schedule. The installation went smoothly. The man who installed the hardwood floor in our sitting room was especially proficient. His work is pure artistry. We are VERY happy with everything and will go back to Tom Adams as we continue work in our home.

They were amazing. They did a fantastic job. They had the best estimate out of 3 companies. They cleaned up all of the glass and made sure I was completely satisfied with the job before they left.

They were professional. They just were not competitive with the pricing.

We had used Tom Adams previously, and used again for this window replacement job. However, 11 windows were installed, all with with major window workmanship issues. Installer told us after completing job (and waiting for payment) that we will need all the sashes replaced by the company (poor sealing). He shouldn't have installed them in the first place given the workmanship issues on the windows. Upon requesting replacement of sashes, we learned that the window company Tom Adams used was actually now out of business, and the warranty was null and void. Tom Adams sold us windows from a company they knew was in bankruptcy, and knew- at the time of contract signing- wasn't going to be able to honor the warranty. I bought from Tom Adams based on their long history and reputation in the area, and was shocked they they sold us these windows, that they were of such poor quality, and that the installer put them in knowing there were flaws with the windows. Perhaps my experience was an anomaly, but i will never use this company again, nor would recommend them to anyone who asks.

We had been shopping for the perfect carpet and color to replace what we have in our family room.We found it at Craft carpet and took the sample to Tom Adam's and Lowes to price compare. They both had the carpet - under a different name but it was confirmed with the manufacturer that it was the same carpet. Tom Adam's has a price match policy and stuck to it. After a week of "back and forth" with their corporate office, they gave us the same price as Lowes - which had the lowest price. Dan Wanamaker came to my house to measure and take pictures and was very accomodating. They also have a great warranty policy and great customer service people in their Whitehall office. So now I wait for the manufacturer to produce my carpet and hopefully have it installed before Thanksgiving!!!

This was the third time I have used Tom Adams. They have installed windows and doors for me in a previous house. They are top notch. Scheduling is easy and prompt and polite. Workers are not subs - they are loyal Adams employees who speak well of their employer. Their work is guaranteed. Would absolutely use them again.

I kept on top of them and they followed through, and did a good job. I would recommend them. If I had any problems they got right back with me. I am using them again to do more work.

Job went well. After signing on to do the job we actually changed our mind to do with a more expensive window and they still gave us a good price without any issues in changing the order. Only complaint really is the cleanup. One of our bushes was damaged and we found some metal clippings from the flashing around the house and outside.

Great experience from start to finish. All pricing and timing estimates were accurate. Installers showed up exactly on time and even helped my wife move furniture back into family room after install. We love the floors they installed and will go back for the rest of the house.

We went to Tom Adams because when our house was measured by another company the square footage they came up with was unreasonable and we felt like they were trying to rip us off. It was completely the opposite experience with Tom Adams. They had great carpet at competitive prices and Dan the sales person was great to work with. He brought samples to the house with him when he did the measure so that my husband didn't have to go to the store. He came up approximately 175 square feet less than the other store, which is a huge savings. We were trying to get a remodel done so we were in a rush. They worked with us so that the carpet could be installed as fast as possible. The installers came on time and did a great job. We will definitely use them again!

We are still waiting for a report for one of the windows that wasn’t done correctly. One of the windows never worked right. It didn’t lock right. He was just here on Saturday. He stopped by and fixed something else that was broken. He does carpets, doors, flooring and windows. They did a good job putting in the windows. We were pleased with the windows. The installation of the windows was good but that was really a mess. They didn’t really clean up inside much at all. They just put the big pieces in and that was it. We cleaned up inside and outside too. There’s a lot of stuff and I’m still picking up things. I’m still picking up nails. I just went out there today and picked up a couple more nails. I don’t know whose nails they are because we had a lot of work done. Their price was about average. They were neither the highest nor the lowest. The windows seem great. They were punctual. They came around the time they said. They broke a couple of things. They didn’t clean anything else. For some reason they thought they should clean my sink. They did that and broke my soap dish. He also dropped the window in the tub and thought some of the porcelain went off the tub. It was a perfect tub. He broke a tile outside the sliding glass door even though I told him not to touch anything. I asked him to put something under that and he said it would be fine. He just broke it. He came back to repair the window and he didn’t have the tool. I gave him what I had. We also had our carpets done by them. I had to help him out the second day because his worker didn’t turn up. This was six years ago. We might use their services again in the future.

They were wonderful. They were very good and very professional. Everything went on as planned and there were no complaints. They were probably the best contractors that I have ever had in my house.

They did an excellent job, worked quickly, and cleaned up well after the project was completed. I can't say anything negative about the service.

The gentleman came out to the house, promised follow up with a selection of doors and casements, and then never followed up, never called back, never advised of any delays, nothing. Complete silence, very unprofessional and unresponsive.

They did a great job with the work. They were responsive and professional. I was satisfied with the work and would use them again.

We plan to replace 19 large picture windows and 3 doors. The representative came out and was on time, very polite, and told us about their products. He measured our window and door openings and asked us to come to the showroom to see their products. We visited and he was very helpful in the store. The estimate that arrived by email later was quite unprofessional--just a list of pricing in the body of an email. It did not reflect the styles of windows we discussed while the representative was in our home. It was not written by him, but appeared to be sent by a secretary. After some weeks, the representative called to ask what we thought and I told him that the pricing was high (it was) and that the details were incorrect. He said he'd like to have a chance to rectify that, but took no initiative to do so. If this is the customer service at the front end, we didn't want to see what would happen if we had a problem after the job is completed.

Came earlier than appointment, went right to work. Sealed off doorways to rest of house; set up cutting area outside, set up exhaust fan to remove dust as they cut masonry; very little dust in rest of house. Cleaned floor and area, installed flooring. Excellent detail work to floor. Best floor installation and detail work, of three different flooring companies, who did three other rooms.

Estimating, measuring and installation were on schedule and done well. We had one issue with a window that was damaged, and the customer service department dealt with it easily and replaced the window immediately. We will use Tom Adams again for additional windows in our home.

They were great to deal with. We received an estimate with them and we were pleased with their professionalism. We didn't go to anyone else after dealing with them. They're a well established company. You can tell by their paperwork they have all of the right insurance.

Are experience was professional from the first phone call. The sales rep came to our home, looked at the window, inside and outside, explained what our options were, and made a recommendation that required less work (and cost) than we had originally anticipated. I researched the manufacturer he recommended (B.F. Rich) and was very pleased with the quality and price. The installer came right as scheduled and worked very efficiently. We are very pleased with the new window, and the process from day one was as smooth as it could have been.

All went very well. Both the products and the installation appear to be of high quality. There were periodic quality control inspections and a couple very minor problems were noted and quickly remedied. The installers were hard workers and highly skilled. The salesman was low key and helpful.
