Description of Work: Fred came out to do a routine maintenance on my heat pump. While he was there I had him look into why my system had frozen up (failed to run defrost mode). Fred did the maintenance as anticipated and I had no problems or issues with that service (which I had paid for thru an Angies list special). However, when Fred looked at my frozen outside unit he told me I needed a new temperature sensor and replaced mine for a reasonable price. However, after he left the system severely malfunctioned, running almost continually in defrost mode until I put the system in emergency heat mode. Fred was responsive in coming back out but when I asked him about the sensor he replaced it became clear that he not only guessed at what the problem was (when I tested the "old" sensor it was fine) but did not really seem to understand how my "demand" defrost system operates. He took his incorrect sensor off and reconnected the old sensor. He refunded the fee he charged me for installing the sensor. I did not have him do any more work on my system. My opinion is that Fred may be OK for routine maintenance (and he's a very nice guy) but does not seem to have the knowledge to test and diagnose a heat pump system problem. A professional HP tech should understand which parts could be causing the specific problem, and test those parts to determine (or at least narrow down) the potential cause of the problem, then fix it. Fred did not show me this level of knowledge so I can't recommend him for fixing a malfunctioning heat pump. If you just need routine maintenance he's as good as anyone else.

Description of Work: Fred cleaned the furnace and replaced a part. Last year when he serviced my furnace he said a part was dying. It was well on it's way the next year so I had him replace it. His service is wonderful and his prices are very fair. I highly recommend his business!

He was scheduled to inspect\service my a\c unit and when I asked him last minute if he could do my furnace also he was able to do so and gave me the same price as the special I had purchased ealier on angie's list for my a\c. Fred was very fast and friendly, I will definitely use his services again!

Description of Work: The $59.00 inspection was performed. A review was given and a recommendation for adding of fluids was done. I had asked Mr. Cramer, before he came, if he would order and bring two filters for my furnace, to which he readily agreed. I appreciate a knowledgeable and professional person who does even more than required.

Description of Work: Fred was very polite. He cleaned, serviced, changed filters and made sure everything was running okay on my oil furnace. The only thing was I didn't realized there was an "oil charge" for an oil valve he has to replace, which made the bill $84. Th original price was $59 for furnace tune up and cleaning. This was still a great deal!

Description of Work: This was the normal service for AC which I usually get annually because the system is getting older. Fred showed up when we agreed to and he cleaned and checked the system. Everything was good. Fred did not try to sell anything else or push other services. I think he would if he saw problems but he didn't do as some companies who push things regularly. | |I was extremely pleased. This is the second year I used Fred's service.
