Fred Cramer - HVAC Gold Certified

I used Fred's services last year for a A/C tune up, which he did punctually and professionally. Today's visit was like the last one. He arrived on time, worked quickly, and took the time to program the thermostat for me, and even took the time to explain all the functions. I would recommend Fred Cramer to anyone. His prices are reasonable, and he does solid work.

Fred is a very nice guy and pretty straight forward. He was a little busy at time of scheduling, so if it is just a routine check you might not be able to get him right away. I think he works alone. I would imagine he gives emergencies first priority, as I would expect. In fact we had to reschedule at least once because he was held up on another job. Otherwise everything went well. Not much more to add. Please note: I recently became aware my Central A/C is an older unit that takes the refrigerant R22 which I believe is not going to be available much longer. Everything is going to the new refrigerant in the near future. R22 is going to be harder to get as time goes on so if you have an older unit that takes R22 ( there usually is a placard on the side of the unit that will tell you), you better get it serviced ASAP as R22 will be prohibitively expensive as it becomes harder to get. At my time of service, Fred charged me only $50 a pound for R22 which is very reasonable. Some other contractors were charging much, much more for this, which is another reason why I appreciated Fred's service.

I was very pleased with Fred's service. Excellent communication, polite, easy going and respectful to my many questions! I could have gone with numerous scenarios as far as replacing just a compressor, just the outside unit, the whole system inside and out, and I also had to choose what brand I wanted to go with. Fred gave quick thorough estimates for everything thru emails and wasn't pushy with the sales end of things. I ultimately chose to have the whole system replaced for piece of mind. Instead of putting me on his schedule for a future appointment he fit me in THE NEXT DAY because of a delay on another one of his jobs. He had everything removed, installed and up and running before dinner time. I was a little concerned about not going with a big name company to do this installation but I am glad I went with Fred. I believe he will stand behind his work and I would use him again.

I purchased the 18 point tune up from fred cramer as it seemed like a good bargain. After over two weeks of calling and leaving messages(and getting absolutely no response), I no longer think so. Since i purchased the certificate, we have had two spells of 90 degree weather, and i had to have UGI come out and work on the unit. When UGI came out, they told me i was low on Freon and had a leak, which i would have appreciated knowing before the hot weather came. I will never use this certificate, and will probably never be refunded either. I just hope somebody else doesn't get ripped off like i did.

I now have a new unit running and no longer dealing with the heat or Mr. Cramer!

I called Fred at 9:05 am and left a voicemail asking him to contact me about an A/C repair. He called by 9:20 am and came right over. After a quick but accurate diagnosis, he explained what went wrong, showed us what needed to be done, got the needed replacement part and performed the repair. He charged us just $160 **TOTAL**, including charges for the replacement part, some refrigerant, and the service call charge. He gave us the receipt and was out the door by 10:20! Unbelievable. So efficient, courteous, and professional. The most important part is that the A/C works perfectly!!! I'm not sure he could've done anything better. I give Fred Cramer the highest marks and recommend to anyone needing an honest, efficient, effective HVAC repair professional. Give this man a call!!!!

He was punctual and professional and reasonably priced. However, after he cleaned the furnace, we could smell oil coming through the vents when the heat was on. My husband e-mailed him and he did respond promptly, but said it would just take a few days for the smell to go away. It still smells and it has been about two months. We have not had any further contact with him at this time.

I have nothing but positive things to say regarding Fred Cramer. He was on time, very professional, pleasant in manner and carefully pointed out what he had done to give an old unit at least another year of service. He also made some recommendations concerning eventual replacement of said unit and what I should look for in a new unit to maximize long-term service at reasonable cost. I am most pleased to have had Mr. Cramer as the service professional for our central a/c unit and would recommend him without reservation to my friends and neighbors.

Fred came to clean & perform a functional test of my Heat Pump system. He arrived early and fully explained what he was doing in performing test, my system capacity, and SEER rating. The functional test showed the system low 1 lb of Freon which I had him correct. I also wanted estimates of future replacement of the entire system which he Emailed to me the next day with a full explanation of the service cost. I found Fred to be informative and responsible in viewing his work.

Arrived on time. Performed work planned. The only real complaint was that he inserted a thermometer through the soft ductwork at my furnace outlet and failed to seal the hole with metallic duct tape.

Fred is very polite and prompt. He gives you just enough information, does his work and moves to the next job. I highly recommend him for HVAC work.

Purchased a "Big Deal" to have him clean and check Air Conditioning System. Mr. Cramer promptly called to arrange an appointment. He arrived on time, was thorough, and was neat in performing his service.

Fred was running a bit late but called to let me know. He was very professional and well prepared to accomplish the tasks at hand. Pleasant to talk to and very concerned with the neatness of the installation and clean. Helped me figure out a problem with the space heater and install it. Provided instructions on the operation of the humidifier. All in all a very pleasant experience at a reasonable price. I'll definitely use Fred again.

My oil burner wouldn't fire, leaving me with no heat in the home. I called after normal business hours, and he returned my call within a half an hour. I was his first appointment the next morning. He arrived right on time, got my furnace going in a very short time, and I ended up spending less than I'm sure most anyone else would have charged! I'll definitely be using him from now on.

I called on Friday mid-morning inquiring about general service for both my furnace and air conditioner. I got a prompt reply on Monday morning. Fred had a cancellation and was able to fit us in Monday morning, despite the sloppy snow. He arrived within a half hour, serviced and tested both the heating unit (including pump) and A/C unit, and cleaned up all soot and debris afterwards. He was courteous and professional. He was also up front about the cost (a bit extra for oil furnaces).

I initially found Fred through an Angie's list coupon for routine HVAC maintenance. We had recently had a drainage system put in our basement, and I wanted the furnace thoroughly cleaned from all the dust and mess that job created. I bought the coupon then contacted Fred when I was actually ready to do the work. I had a good experience, and have since used Fred to install a tankless water heater and to replace the condensate pump on my furnace. Fred has been prompt and thorough and all the work has been done correctly to the best of my knowledge (i.e. everything is still working properly).

Fred Cramer did a great job from start to finish. Fred and his helper arrived on time and went right to work. Fred explained what they were going to do, so there were no surprises.They first removed my old heat pump (cleaning up as they went along), then installed my new heat pump along with all new plumbing and wiring. They also installed a new thermostat and set everything to my liking. Fred was very professional and kept me up to date as to the progress of the job. When the new heat pump was installed, Fred stayed around for a while to make sure everything was working properly. I would reccomend Fred Cramer for any heating or A/C problems, he does GREAT WORK AT A GREAT PRICE!!!
