I contacted Mr. Brown and he scheduled the estimate for the same day. He arrived at the house promptly and provided a clear assessment and plan for completing the remodel. Because of strict schedule requirements he provided a referall to an alternative electrician with availaility to begin the job immeadiately. I deeply appreciate the attitude of customer service which Mr. Brown upheld.

Brad came out to my house and quoted the job. He ordered the parts and scheduled the job. Did the job in an afternoon and was in and out in no time. Cleaned up inside and out after himself and took all the old junk with him.
Description of Work: Updated the electrical service to my home and replaced the breaker box as well. Was quick and responsive. Replaced everything as promised and did a great clean job. It was even slightly less than quoted. Great person to talk with as well.

Overall very satisfied with Brad's work. My only complaint was that he installed all white hardward (door bell button, door bell cover and transformer plate cover) when all of our hardware and fixtures are brown. Would have preferred a bit more attention to the asthetics of his work.
Description of Work: Brad and his co-worker installed a new hard-wired door bell for us. This involved installing an accessible transformer, running new wire and patching drywall.

Response from BRAD BROWN ELECTRIC
Honestly, the aesthetics are one of the area's that I am most passionate about and have the most attention to detail in. This member never mentioned any preference about what type of doorbell transformer she wanted. I assumed that it would be painted to match the wall as well as the area where we had to patch(that is what usually happens - a painter paints the cover to match the wall.) I have installed hundreds of doorbells and anytime someone had a button they wanted specifically they provided it. I would say that 100 percent of electricians will install a standard door bell kit with a nice fresh lit button. If an opportunity came up where I was asked to pick a doorbell that match the decor of the room I would have been delighted to. This customer was not home the day of the job and if she was there I would have found out she had a strong preference and made sure she got what she wanted- because that is what drives me - doing an excellent job!

Brad did a very nice job for us. We were having trouble with the electric line out to our carriage house which was preventing the electric garage door from opening. Additionally, we needed to run another line to the back yard for a pond that will be installed next month. Brad had a landscaping company come on day one and dig the trenches that were required. This work was done quickly, carefully and neatly. On the following three days, Brad and his assistant laid the conduit, installed junction boxes at the main house and the carriage house, pulled the lines, updated the sub-panel in the carriage house and installed two four-gang outlets in the yard on a Trex post with a cap. Everything was done carefully and neatly. Additionally, Brad was always pleasant and smiling. He even helped me take apart a chair that I was returning and needed to pack for shipping. I wouldn't hesitate to have him back again.
Description of Work: A new electric line was run from the main house into the carriage house and a second line was run from the main house to the yard in preparation for a large pond installation.

Everything went well. He did an excellent upgrade job. I do not know the approximate amount of money that we spent with this company, so this $0.00 charge does not accurately reflect his prices.

Brad and his assistant came a few hours after I called them with the problem. We turned on everything that we thought fed off of that circuit but could not get the circuit to trip. After examining the circuit breaker, he said he was pretty sure that the circuit breaker (and not something on the circuit) was the problem and replaced the breaker. He and his assistant were very pleasant.

This was the second time we hired Brad to work for us. This time, we hired him to install overhead lights in our living room. Our house is about 109 years old and wasn't wired for ceiling lights. He was able to expertly navigate through the difficulties and irregularities of working with an old house. He needed to drill a few holes in our ceiling but kept the mess to a minimum and later patched up the holes with great care and skill. He and his assistant worked quickly and efficiently, and they completed the installation on time and on budget. He gave us advice on where exactly to install the light fixtures and the brightness of the bulbs we should use, and his decisions were right on. The lights greatly enhance the look of our living room and really brightened things up. Brad was also very pleasant and professional to work with. We were very happy with his work and will definitely hire him again.

I called Brad, he came out a few days later. I showed him what was going on with my stove (it kept blower fuses everytime I used it). Also showed him the lights that had stop working recently. Brad gave me two estimates, a least value which may go up in price depending on what all was needed to fix the problems and a bottom line cost. I went with Brad mainly because on cost (lets just say it was 25% of what another prominate Angie's List wanted to do the exact same work. Brad even fixed a door bell and railing fo me at no extra charge. Great guy who does great work.
Description of Work: Brad changed my 100 watt breaker, upgraded a 50 watt breaker to a 60 watt, replaced four light switches, ran an electrial line for my sump pump and put a door bell on my front door.

We called Brad based on his positive reviews on Angie's list. He arrived at our home on the same day (along with an assistant,) evaluated our situation, and gave a very fair and reasonable estimate for the cost of the work. Even though it was near dinner time, Brad offered to drive to a supply company to pick up a part that we needed for the installation. He returned promptly and completed the job in a very professional, neat and friendly way. Brad and his assistant were patient and accommodating, and were very patient as we made sure that the chandelier was positioned exactly the way we wanted it. They were very careful about using drop-cloths, and in cleaning up after the work was completed. Brad seemed very knowledgeable as well as capable, and we would absolutely use him again for any electrical job that we need in the future.

We ran into a problem about an hour after they left, lights started coming on and they wouldn't go off so I had to go to the breaker box. I called them on an emergency basis and they did respond. He came back over toward the early evening and went up to our attic and was able to figure out the system without having seen it before which was a big plus. Most people hear low voltage system and run away. He looked at it, figured it out and made the correction. I was very satisfied with how he analyzed the system and did it correctly. It was not really his fault that it didn't work out in the first place because he had never seen the system which was as much my fault as it was his. He did a good job, he was responsive and reliable. I had a discussion with him about the price for the job and he listened to what I had to say. We discussed the house call, the work, a trip to the hardware store and the purchase of a part. When he came back the second time there was no charge.
Description of Work: Brad Brown Electric made some changes to the swtiching arrangements in our electric system. We have a low voltage system in our house which very few people have. It's an old system that most electrician's don't deal with.

My outdoor lights kept blowing out and we had two other electricians come to my house a total of 5 times for an issue. Brad was my third try and he blew the others away. He showed up early, moved other stuff around to meet our schedule, and was professional from start to finish. He put drop covers down; all the parts were in his truck and was a true pleasure. After 3 months of dealing with this issue we finally found a really smart electrician. He figured out the issue within an hour, he dug up the lights found the short and fixed the problem. It went so well I gave him some additional work which he did. The difference between Brad Brown and the others is night and day. I can?t rave enough

Very responsive, professional and reasonable.
Description of Work: I called Brad when I ran into a problem with the installation of a fan and light for my porch. He was happy to take the job, no matter how small. In addition, he offered me advice over the phone and after my discussion with him I was able to complete the installation myself. Furthermore, when I called him to cancel our appointment after finishing the installation myself, I called the wrong number. The day of the appointment, he showed up right on time to do the job and was completely understanding of the miscommunication. I have posted his card on my fridge and will certainly call again for the inevitable electrical repairs in my older home.

We had a great experience with this company. We lost our power on July 4th and after hours of waiting for PECO we found out that the problem was not with PECO but the electrical system. Our normal electrician was at the shore so we were without power until Monday morning. We called Brad Brown Electric first thing Monday morning and they were able to come out almost immediately and fix the problem. The two men that came were really friendly and very tolerant of our crazy puppy who barked at them incessantly. We will definitely call them in the future.

Brad was on time and very professional. He works very methodically and has good attention to detail. When I told him about my fountain problem he offered to help me figure out what I needed and he stayed until it was working to my satisfaction. He was really nice as well.
Description of Work: Inside the house Brad replaced two spongy outlets. One had to be resecured to a beam and the hole plastered over. He switched out a light switch as well. Outside he replaced an outlet that was drilled through a shutter door and brought it to code. He also installed another outside box and rewired existing outlets. This included trenching out a line and burying some wire in pvc pipe. He then installed a new outlet on my retaining wall, close to my fountain. Finally, he helped me pick out a new pump for my wall fountain and got it running again. He even bolted my spicket to my house which has been loose since I moved in.

Brad was punctual, helpful, courteous, and VERY reasonably priced. He finished the work quickly and did an excellent job. Unlike many electricians on the Main Line, he did not price gouge me, and he did not insist that I pay an extra $150 for an annual service contract (which I don't need). I highly recommend him.

The design of the existing lighting in our den did little to illuminate the room despite high wattage bulbs. Brad was willing to work with us to try to adapt our existing lighting to accommodate dim-able fluorescent flood lights. He was willing and able to creatively and safely alter the existing lights with some low-cost replacement parts. However, as he disassembled the fixtures for adaptation, we discovered that much of the fixture wiring was in poor condition. As a result, we decided that it was time to invest in new, high-quality fixtures that would also help to prevent heat loss in the room (which tends to be cold). Brad worked diligently, carefully and neatly. He is also pleasant and friendly. The cost was higher than the original estimate because we had to change the scope of work due to the unforeseen wire damage.
