Response from BRAD BROWN ELECTRIC
I do apologize for not getting back to this gentleman. His mother called inquiring about a exhaust fan install. I tried to help her by giving her some numbers over the phone which is generally avoided in this context because of the amount of questions necessary to come up with anything accurate. Sometimes it is harmless if people just want a "ball park" to give them some ideas. The week before Christmas is very busy as everyone wants to get everything done before the Holidays and that is when this took place. It is my intention to call every customer back but sometimes all my energy must has to be applied to the jobs I am already committed to. If this principle is ignored, over committing can lead to overwhelm and the existing jobs and customers don't get all the attention and focus they potentially need. I am usually able to respond to all inquires but when I can't there are always circumstances that prevent it.

We had a bunch of electrical work done in our home when we first moved in by a guy in the neighborhood. I swear he was on drugs when he was here because an hour after he left, absolutely nothing worked. So we called Brad Brown, referred to us by my Mother in Law, to come and fix everything. It took them a week, and we had to pay for the work all over again, but at least now everything is perfect. We even added motion sensors outside which we love. Next time I will hire Brad Brown the first time around.
Description of Work: Installed and/or replaced lights, outlets, switches, motion sensors, etc

Brad and his coworker showed up right on time to check the two light switches that were giving me problems. They replaced the two switches in less than an hour and were on their way. I will absolutely use Brad again if I have more electrical work to do and I would certainly recommend him to any friends/family looking for an electrician. I was really pleased with the quality and speed of work but more importantly with Brad's professionalism.
Description of Work: I had a dining room switch and a bathroom switch that were making crackling/snapping noises when I turned on the switch. The lights had stopped working altogether and I was worried about sparking which could cause a fire so I wanted a professional to come take a look since the house and wiring are very old. Brad called me back within a day of me leaving a message for him and had fit me into the schedule to fix the switches within just a few days.

I was genuinely delighted by Brad Brown's friendliness and speed of service. Brad arrived exactly when he promised and completed the job within the time frame he estimated, all for a very reasonable price. We will add him to our list of trusted service providers.

Brad is a personable guy, and knows what he is talking about. He was punctual, reasonably priced, and skilled at his craft. He cleaned up after himself and left the property in excellent condition.
Description of Work: We own an old home purchased as a rental property that had some worrisome "upgrades" done prior to our purchase. Brad and company inspected the prior work, and repaired the work that was done incorrectly. He also put in new wiring/lighting where it was needed.

Brad did a great job and didn't try to sell me any "free" extras, that seem end up making the price of the job higher, which is what I found from the other companies that gave me estimates. He is punctual, professional, has a great team and shows utmost the care and respect towards those around him and in the care of his work. I would hire him again, no problem!

Brad was prompt inresponding to my inquiry and arrived at the stated time. He and his colleague were professional in all repsects, explaining what they were doing as they went. They worked efficiently, splitting up when they could. Brad diagnosed the problem with the bathroom lighting and suggested a solution, and also checked out all aspects of my exterior trail lights and recommended alternatives. He voluntarily adjusted his charges when one of the fixtures that he installed(that I had purchased) turned out to have a manufacturing defect and needed to be replaced. His pricing is very fair.

From beginning to end this was a great experience. It was a model for how a home owner would hope to interact with a contractor. Brad was highly professional, knowledgeable, efficient, honest, and personable. He demonstrated a keen interest in meeting our needs taking into consideration both the aesthetics of the job while keeping the costs reasonable (his bid was approximately 50% of the other two contractors). One contractor's quote required two workers for two days. Brad and his assistant completed the work in less than one day. We were working with tight time constraints and he was quite responsive and flexible. He completed and submitted his estimate over the weekend, we agreed on the work on Monday and he scheduled the work for that Wednesday. We had other contractors working at the same time and in the same crawl space area and they all worked well together. He showed up on time and he and his assistant completed the work on schedule and on budget. Although not necessary, he even went to a local supply house to pick up different breakers since the ones he had in his truck were a different brand than the ones in our panel. As he described it, they would have worked but it wouldn't have looked as good. And as if all of the above were not enough, Brad has a great outlook on life. Without a doubt, my wife and I would hire Brad Brown Electric again and would, without any reservation, recommend Brad to our friends.

Extremely satisfied with Brad Brown Electric. It was raining out the day his team arrived, but they were on time and even laid tarps down to prevent dust from spreading to the carpet and furniture. Would definitely recommend this company in the future.
Description of Work: Brad and his team came out and mounted a 60inch television above our fireplace, and replaced two older outlets for no additional charge as we were first-time customers. We purchased a standard mounting kit from Amazon, and Brad and his team mounted it and replaced an outlet nearby, and one in a separate room.

We recently had a new roof put in, and the contractors put in an attic fan, which they said they should not connect (leaving it up to a professional electrician). We called three electricians (Electric Man, Martella Electric, and Brad Brown). While they were all responsive, professional, and relatively inexpensive, Brad was the best in every category. He called the day of the appointment (when it was 98 degrees outside) to see if we could meet earlier in the day, but I was unavailable. He came in the evening, quickly estimated the work, gave us a quote, and hooked everything up quickly. Afterwards, he showed us how to operate the temperature and humidity controls of the fan, and he offered to give us the name of a professional who could fix our loose pull down attic stairs.

Brad promptly scheduled a time and date to come give us an estimate on the work we wanted done. We were very pleased with his estimate, and after deciding to book with him were able to schedule a date for the work very easily. He arrived promptly with an assistant and they performed the requested work quickly and neatly. He made some adjustments to the inital quote as requested with no issues, changing the type of switch we were using for the fans. We are thrilled with Brad's work and will certainly use him again.
Description of Work: Brad installed two ventilation fans in bathrooms, including running new electrical for the fans and installing exterior vent in the attic. Additionally they changed one of our bathroom outlets to be always "hot" instead of connected to the light switch in that room.

The service was nothing short of spectacular from start to finish. Brad called to say he was on his way. Brad was very response from the first call. I had called because we had just had a home inspection and there were a few things that needed to be corrected. He was great on the phone and set clear expections around what to expect and the cost. He was very punctual and professional when he arrived to the do the work and the final cost was right on with the estimate he provided. I would recommend Brad and will certainly use him again in the future.
Description of Work: Brad performed the following repairs. In kitchen found loose outlet and tightened outlet screws as well as adding missing screw to plate cover. In kitchen found gfi outlet with reversed polarity and disassem bled to rem ake original electrical connections and rectified reverse polarity. Also added missing screw to plate cover. At circuit panel found 30 amp circuit breaker with rust on terminals and replaced. Also applied sealant to the top of the panel where the wire connectors m ay have been allowing water in the panel.

I called Brad Sunday after the hurricane knowing that things would be a little hectic with all the power issues that occurred. To my surprise he returned my call within a few hours. He knew that he would not be able to completely correct my issues, but stopped in the next day to be sure that my service would be OK to use until he could return and do the repairs. It took a while to get an appointment, but once I had a confirmed appointment, Brad and his team arrived as scheduled, were extremely professional and completed the job on time. Brad took the time to explain exactly what he was doing, why it needed to be done and how the job would be done. Now knowing the quality of workmanship that Brad does I totally understand why it may take some time to book him. A couple of my neighbors came over to inspect the job (with me being female they wanted to be sure I wasn't been taken for a ride) and were quite impressed with the workmanship. I was never nervous or uncomfortable about having the team in my house. They were neat, clean and policed the area when they completed their work. I appreciate the thoughtfulness and concern that Brad demonstrated and his willingness to assit me. Brad and team were at all time courteous and polite and even helped me get a heavy storm door up from the basement. I have more electrical work to be done and Brad is the only electrician I will use.
Description of Work: Replaced electrical line coming into the house, installed new circuit breakers and box, and upgraded the service to 200 amp. Also hired Brad a second time to remove a 220 line and run a line for a microwave.

He's a great electrician....just terrific. He saved me a ton of money because I have several lights in my kitchen on one switch and it was overloading all the time. He found a way to rewire it instead of buying a new one, which would have cost me about a thousand dollars. He did a lot for a very reasonable price. He's also a really nice guy. I give him 100% highest grades.

Brad and his assistant Steve were great. I asked them to give me an estimate to fix an outdoor lamppost that hasn't worked in a few years. About 40 feet of underground wiring leads to the lamppost, including a stretch that goes under a stone walkway, so it wasn't easy to identify where the problem was. They stayed quite a long time (45 minutes or longer) to check it out and determined issues with the underground wiring as well as challenges in rewiring the existing post because of a cement foundation. Brad gave three options as a next step. Start from scratch and install a new lamppost with new wiring (probably about $1200), fix the existing wiring as a workaround and use the existing lamppost (probably about $600), or have him come back and explore for an hour ($125) to try to see if the underground wiring could be fixed more easily. Brad and I both decided the third option was best. He came back within a few days and quickly found a couple of problems -- two splices around the wrong type of wire. He and Steve had to work for over three hours but fixed it with minimal digging in our yard. They cleaned up beautifully. I was impressed with Brad's creativity in solving the problem and especially in spending time during the estimate phase (when he might get nothing out of it) to figure out some possible solutions.

Brad scheduled a visit with me just two days from the call and was very flexible. Very pleasant, nice guy. The dimmer that had to be replaced was behind our bar and he and his colleague removed all of the bottles and put them back when they were finished. He went around the corner to Home Depot with no hesitation when I asked that we have a dimmer that matched the functional one beside it. He returned quickly and had the job done in about 15 minutes. They did a great job, were efficient and well-priced. I'd call them again for any other electrical problem we come across.
