Description of Work: Craig and his guys protected the uncontaminated rooms in the basement, neatly demolished the drywall and insulation. He remediated the mold, got rid of all debris, and kept his air scrubbers in the rooms for a few days longer than scheduled. We had the area checked by another firm after Craig's work was done and it was 100% remediated.

Dyan in office was very accommodating in allowing senior discount as well as AList discount. Craig (owner) arrived on time, hauling in a ton of equipment (meters, cameras, etc). He was professional except for an instance where he had disparaging things to say about a competitor. He took moisture readings around the house, pointing out two areas of mold. Craig gave a ballpark verbal estimate to remediate the mold, which we thought was excessive. We received written reports about 10 days later.
Description of Work: Requested indoor air quality inspection due to physical symptoms experienced by a family member (strange taste, fatigue, "foggy"). Had already ruled out CO & gas leaks.

They were extremely thorough -- they evaluated the air quality of all the rooms and examined walls and ceilings for moisture. When they did locate moisture, I never felt as if I were being pressured toward a particular remedy; instead Craig talked me through the various options and helped me determine the best way to proceed. I can't say that I'm happy that they discovered moisture beneath a few windows as well as on one ceiling, but I am very appreciative of their thoroughness and professionalism (not to mention the sophistication of their equipment).

AMD is an absolutely first class operation from start to finish. I was looking for a company that does a complete evaluation of mold and home air quality - most companies who advertise themselves as doing mold evaluations seem to be primarily in the basement waterproofing business. Craig, their president instills immediate confidence and is extremely thorough - I particularly like the fact that he has extensive experience and knowledge in all areas of home construction. His company will also do the mold remediation. I was aware of a musty smell in the basement, but the smell was also particularly noticible on opening the front door after the house was closed for a week while we were away on vacation. The scope of the evaluation included a thorough inspection of the entire house, air sampling in selected areas, and readings for varius metrics such as humidity, volatile organic compounds, etc. He looked at every part of the house, taking both digital pictures, as well as pictures with an infrared camera to show hidden water leaks. He answered all questions and was very responsive by phone. Two weeks after the evaluation I received a comprehensive report including pictures, lab reports of mold levels and specific recommendations. I requested a full proposal to have the remediation work done and price which arrived promptly and decided to have the remediation work done by AMD also.
Description of Work: AMD performed a complete mold assessment and air sampling

Craig showed up on time and ready to work. The scheduling process was smooth and my request for specific days were met. The office staff were pleasant and knowledgeable as well. Craig spent much of his time educating us as he performed his inspections. It was all very factual without any pressure or hype. He had several ideas on how to control/re mediate minor issues that were not expensive and i could do myself.
Description of Work: We had our whole house reviewed/inspected for potential mold and fungi issues. This was an initial inspection to determine if we needed further testing. They also addressed my concerns for what I thought was stucco.

Craig and I met at my house and I opened the door to show him through. He took one whiff of the air inside and insisted I wait in my car after he learned I had been having breathing problems since this had all happened. He took his time (about 30-40 minutes) and did a thorough investigation of all 4 floors from basement to attic and then we met back in my car to discuss the situation. First, he informed me that he did not need to do any formal testing at this point since the mold problem was so extensive that he could smell it when he entered the front door and it was visible on exposed walls. After confirming what I already knew, that the situation was incredibly bad and would be costly and time-consuming to remediate, he delivered his first good news which was more than welcome at this point! He informed me that he was not going to charge me a cent for his visit because he really felt any actual testing was redundant and unnecessary at this point and I had enough problems on my hands without his adding to them. I was astounded and relieved. Then, he offered to draft an extensive proposal for what needed to be done to totally remediate the problem so that I could submit this to my insurance company; again, free (not everybody's is, you know, especially when they have to prepare an extensive proposal, as in my case) and that he would email it to me within a few days! WOW! True to his word, a few days later, I received an extensive 8 page proposal with detailed explanations of the process, the work involved, the precautions they would take, and a full budget with breakdown as to timing of payments and amounts based on work completed. Followed by a recommendation to get independent testing done, as a check, afterwards, to make sure they had done their job thoroughly. I was blown away! A week before, I had finally decided to face this problem and start working towards its resolution and, now, within 7 days, I had a professional evaluation and proposal for my insurance and it had not cost me a dime. Of couse the estimated cost of the remediation was a lot of money, but even my insurance agent, after reading the proposal said that he was not surprised by the cost estimates and thought they were quite reasonable, given the situation. So, my advice to you, if you even THINK you might have a mold problem, is to call AMD, and only AMD, right away. Mold can be highly toxic and it can be affecting you and your family in subtle ways you don't even suspect until the problem has grown costly not only to your bank account, but also to your family's health and nothing is worth that risk! Mold can cause allergies, asthma, and even cancer, not to mention a whole host of other health related problems. I KNOW a lot of friends in this area who have damp basements which flood occasionally. If you are in this category, get Craig out there right away and he will work with you to solve your problem before it becomes a disaster. Also, be forewarned. Lots of insurance companies do not cover mold remediation at all, some put relatively low limits on it and to my knowledge no company around here really does an adequate job if you truly have a major problem. So, nip it in the bud. Get Craig and his company out there ASAP to bring better life, better health and more piece of mind to you and your family. Hope this helps!
Description of Work: I expected Advanced Mold Diagnostics to be exceptional in terms of quality and service because so many other Angie's list members had told me so and they were, but I did not expect it to be beyond my wildest expectations. My house was so bad that I had had to move out while workmen were supposed to be coming in to fix the various problems due to a fire, subsequent water damage and, then, a major set of burst pipes in my center hall that rained down on my entry way and spread into both my formal living and dining room as well as throughout the hall. If all this wasn't bad enough, it went undiscovered for a long time and then it took even longer for plumbers to find and fix the problem. By then, mold had set in throughout the house, but the basement was truly, unbelieveably bad. I called AMD to send someone out to test for mold so I could approach my insurance company about the severity of the problem. They were totally professional in the scheduling. The best I have ever seen! And, that is out of a LOT of professionals I have dealt with over some thirty years. To begin with, they get all your information upfront so they can come out prepared, including your email address. Then, they sent me an extensive confirmation email with not only the time and date of our appointment, but a repeat in writing of what they were supposed to do while there (do thorough testing for mold throughout the house), how long it would take to accomplish (2-3 hours), how much it would cost ($549--$595-$50 Angie's discount for the consultation and evidence gathering, plus $95 for each sample to be tested), and how I could pay for it. Not only was Craig, head of the company, on time, but he was incredibly polite, cooperative, and understanding. This is where the story really begins.

From the first meeting to the final walk through, our experience with Advanced Mold Diagnostics was excellent. The company was easy to work with and took extra care to make sure the job was done right. The foreman and crew were polite and attentive. They arrived on time, made sure everything was clean before they left and provided feedback. Any issues, however minor, were quickly addressed. It was comforting to feel the respect and care they took in working on our home. We would give them our highest recommendation.

We needed to have the mold sampling done quickly as our offer on a house was dependent upon it. Craig was kind enough to make a special effort to meet us on a Sunday as it was so important. He was prompt, very professional, and patient with explanations. Think of the fellow from Holmes on Homes (HGTV) only younger, and in better shape. Do be around as he works if you suffer from allergies. He has great advice he is happy to share. He also offers his observations if he thinks something needs special attention. In our case, we discussed stucco, another of his specialties, He was not there to do a stucco exam but he pointed out his observations and confirmed mine so I was ready with good questions when our home inspector came the following day. With Craig's pointers we avoided purchasing a potential money pit of a home. When we make another offer, we will be using his services again. If we are purchasing a home with stucco, he will also be on our list for a full stucco exam.
Description of Work: Craig was great. He examined every visible square inch of the house we were having inspected. He also tested the particulates in the air and was incredibly thorough. When he completed the standard inspection, $695.00 he explained we would not need the additional sample inspections done. ($95 each) It is the rare person who suggests not spending additional money "because were it his money he would not spend it". While we know he was likely correct, being belt and suspender kind of people we did the extra sampling.

Initially, Craig came to our home and surveyed the situation. He looked throughout the entire house to determine where the work needed to be done. He was very thorough and provided detailed explanations about what he was finding and what he would do to take care of the situation. We were very concerned that we were being exposed to some harmful molds. Craig suggested that we have him take some samples to find out. Although the samples did not prove to be harmful we still needed to take care of the mold. Craig came up with the above proposal to clean and seal the areas affected by the mold. The proposal was accepted and scheduled to take place over 4 days. The two man team arrived promptly on the first day and began setting up. They moved and covered personal items and covered flooring. They sealed off the doorway to the basement and put the air scrubbers where needed. Craig arrived shortly after to make sure that everything was in place and ready to go. Over the next few days the work was done. The team was professional, quiet and worked diligently each day. It was very hot during the time they were there and I know that they had to be extremely uncomfortable but they worked right through it all without any complaints. We had to have the air conditioning off only from the time they started painting which was the second day until the day after they finished. It got extremely hot in the house and Craig had offered to bring a window unit air conditioner over but I had declined, thinking that we would be all right by running the ceiling fans and opening windows when it cooled off. I think I would take Craig up on his offer next time. My biggest concern was for my animals but we were all fine. All of the precautions that Craig took to seal of areas and purify the air made us feel assured that the job was being done properly and that we were making necessary and worthwhile improvements to our home. This feeling continued as we noticed the difference within the first week after the completion of the job. The odors from the basement are already less due to our new dehumidifiers that we also purchased at Craig's suggestion. He explained to us that we needed units that were the right capacity for the space we had to treat. We knew that we didn't have the proper ones and Craig helped educate us and gave us information online to look at to help us make an educated decision. We felt confident in our decision and excited that we will get the results that we want....proper air quality and no more mold! When the team was done working they cleaned everything up and moved every single thing back into place. They worked very hard to get us back to our normal lifestyle as soon as possible. Craig was constantly checking in to make sure that we were doing all right and was readily available for questions. Craig's assistant, Dyan, was just a phone call or e-mail away and always responded promptly. We felt that they established a great working relationship by keeping the lines of communication open and providing us with the knowledge we needed to make sound decisions about a very worrisome situation. There is no better feeling than knowing that your house is safe and sound for those you love, to live in. We are looking forward to working with Craig on another project in the near future and will keep him on our keepers list of great contractors.
Description of Work: Through Advance Mold Diagnostics we discovered that we had some lingering mold in the basement. We had them perform some diagnostic tests on samples from several areas. We were reassured that the mold found was not one that needed a full remediation process but one that could be taken care of by applying an antimicrobial coating of paint. An antimicrobial coating of paint was applied to all accessible areas of sub-flooring and joists in the unfinished basement areas and crawl spaces. All floors and personal items were covered. Insulation was removed in crawl space and then reinstalled after all debris was removed and the area was vacuumed. Air scrubbers were placed throughout the basement and main level to purify the air and control odors. Poly sheeting was place over the basement door to seal off the area being worked in and to help seal off odors.

We had a musty odor for quite some time and couldn't figure out what it was. We called several companies and decided on Advanced Mold Diagnostics because they spent a lot of time on the phone answering our questions. The company sent out someone who spent a lot of time looking around and showed us a lot of things about our house that weren't quite right. He showed us mold that was covering a lot of our stuff in the basement. We had no idea that there was mold on a lot of our stuff until he pointed it out. It turns out we have had water coming into the basement for some time and the carpet and drywall was getting wet without our knowledge. They looked at every part of the house, inside and out, and showed us things that were wrong with our stucco as well as why we were getting water in the basement, which caused the mold. We had no idea what to expect but the guy did a great job and educated us about our home and the problems that need to be fixed. We got a detailed report with all the information they gathered on what caused the problem and what to do to fix it. We got quotes from a number of companies to do the cleanup and decided to hire Advanced Mold Diagnostics, not because they were the cheapest but we felt we could trust them. The mold cleanup was done in April and we've had no musty odors or evidence of mold since they did the work. We would not hesitate to recommend this company as they were knowledgeable, efficient, and did everything they said they were going to do.

After Craig Camel performed the initial diagnostic visit and gave us the estimate, he scheduled the actual work. I've never had such extensive work done to a home before, and it was very stressful to watch the back of my house being peeled off, but Craig and his crew explained every step they performed, and Craig actually frequently took the time to stop work long enough to show me what he had found underneath (and some of it was downright weird) and explain what he saw and what needed to be done. Craig was at the job site much of the time, even while he was managing other projects, and he monitored his crew carefully, even though I feel his crew was very professional. They, too would take time to answer my many questions and I could tell from their responses that they knew what they were doing. Craig was committed to staying on schedule despite several weather delays, and he always called me to let me know if there was a change in their schedule and how he felt they were progressing. Craig also let me know immediately the few times he had to change materials, and he always discussed the changes before proceeding and presented me with a change order promptly. He paid careful attention to the original estimate, and only had to go over budget by about $800.00 or so when he found more extensive damage and wanted to use better materials, but he had even predicted correctly the increased damage, so it wasn't a big surprise. He put a great deal of thought into some of the material changes he made, and his choices actually made a lot of sense and made the finished result look great. At first, my husband and I thought the $20,000.00 cost was high, but when it was finished, we realized we got excellent value for the money - Craig and his team worked very h****** my stucco, and we are completely satisfied with the end result - the stucco looks beautiful AND THE LEAKS ARE GONE! I cannot say enough good things about Craig Camel and his company - he knows this business inside and out, he is very detail-oriented and committed to getting the details perfect, and he was the only contractor I found that was willing to give our stucco problem the time and attention it needed. His knowledge of building science is immense and he is passionate about quality and doing the work the right way. This was a stressful project for us, but it went very smoothly and it is truly a professional result. I still like to go out and just stare at the back of my house! It is such a relief and a load off my mind to finally get this nasty leaking problem corrected, and I am very grateful to Craig and his crew. It's good to know there are some very committed, professional contractors out there.
Description of Work: After the initial diagnostic and estimate visit (my first review), we had AMD perform the actual stucco removal and replacement work to one-third of the home's stucco siding.

Advanced Mold Diagnostics gave me a mold assessment for my house I was selling. They found mold in the attic and i had to remediate it before they would buy it. They took many air samples (at 100$ each) and wanted to take even more. I would have easily spent another 1000$ in air samples if I had let them do what they wanted. Then when the estimate came in for remediation it was very unreasonable. He had told me before giving me the estimate that he hoped that I didn't pick him for the remediation because he didn't want to work in my attic because it was going to be hot. He wanted to tear apart the entire kitchen as well, for some mildew under the sink. He had estimated 28k for the work. I had it done for under 8k and they didn't tear up the house. I will never recommend or use this company again.

Response from Advanced Mold Diagnostics Inc
Unfortunately, in a customer service oriented business, we cannot please every customer. The volume of our positive reports on Angie’s List clearly speak for themselves. This customer initially called our company because she was selling her home and she had an issue in her attic that was pointed out by the buyer’s home inspector. Our recommended sampling protocol was appropriate to address all of the issues uncovered in her house aside from her attic. The sampling protocol was approved by the client before the sampling was performed as we always obtain authorization before sampling. The comment regarding not wanting to work in her attic is taken out of context. No one wants to work in a hot attic that reaches 140 degrees and we had just completed 3 attic remediation projects where one of our staff suffered heat stroke. Yes, it is true, Craig did indicate that we are not keen on doing attic remediation in the summer time. What the client is calling a little bit of mildew under the kitchen sink was actually a faulty seal on the counter top that had been leaking for years and there was extensive mold-growth on the underside of the counter top which she is choosing to ignore. One minor technicality but one major point of misinformation is that her estimate was not $28,000 but $18,000 and it included remediation in several areas of her home, including the kitchen, that were necessary to insure that the buyer was purchasing a home that was free of microbial contamination. Obviously her intent was not to deliver a home free of mold, but to deliver a home to her buyer at the lowest out-of-pocket expense. We state the facts as we see them, not as the seller would like them to be portrayed. Just because the seller hired us to perform the inspection does not mean that our opinions will be biased toward our client. Our opinions are not for sale.

AMD's was great. The most that any of the retail stores was closed was 3 days. They basically saved the property from further damage. We were able to collect all rents for that month due to AMD's professional service.
Description of Work: I am an insurance broker and Realtor and I own and manage a property management company, managing shopping centers and commercial buildings. I have used Craig Camel and Advanced Mold Diagnostics a number of times over the years for flood clean up and structural drying as well as mold remediation. I guess one of the things that would be top on my list would be their responsiveness. On a recent shopping center that was flooded with 4 feet of water, Craig and his team were able to mobilize tremendous resources within hours which probably resulted in a substantial reduction in the loss. His understanding of the drying process and how to prevent mold growth is greatly appreciated as a property manager because reducing the costs is an essential component in the decision making process of hiring a mold remediation contractor. I would advise commercial clients as well as residential clients that going anywhere else would be an unwise move. This is the company that you want!

I hired Advanced Mold Diagnostics to do an indoor air quality assessment and after receiving the very comprehensive report, along with instructions on what to do for remediation, and after careful consideration, I hired Advanced Mold Diagnostics to do the mold remediation. The process was laborious. They seemed to take all precautions by putting up containments, negatively pressurizing the space and meanwhile taking great care with our contents while cleaning them. Because Advanced Mold Diagnostics did the assessment and then did the remediation, they insisted on me getting a third party independent consultant to verify their work, which they explained to me is the only ethical way to do it. The third party consultant came out and did a thorough inspection of the work and because there is a highly sensitized individual in the house, he erred on the side of caution and requested that two small areas be re-cleaned. Advanced Mold Diagnostics immediately reacted by re-cleaning those areas to both the consultant's and my satisfaction. I am very satisfied with the work that Advanced Mold Diagnostics performed for me and I would highly recommend them.

I have a 20 year old colonial-style house that I have owned for 5 years. I have noticed persistent problems with a leak that seems to run down behind the stucco at the back of the house and into the basement, and a leak around one window on the same wall. I had all my windows replaced 3 years ago, which stopped some of the problems around the window, but the mysterious leak has continued (it has been a little less since the new windows). I have also had the stucco cleaned, repaired and sealed, which greatly improved its appearance but did nothing for that darn leak. I have spent the last 2 years trying to figure out who to call about this leak, and I finally did an Internet search on "stucco leaks" and Advanced Mold Diagnostics came up for my area. The website has a lot of info and some great testimonials, and I was hoping they would be able to find this annoying leak. My first phone call to the company was a great experience - when I told Dyan about my problems, and my uncertainty about who to call, she was able to explain that this is just the type of work AMD is known for, and I was impressed that I may be able to finally get some help. When Craig Camel arrived, he had a fat packet of very in-depth info on stucco - more than I ever wanted to know - but he is able to thoroughly explain the science behind correct stucco application and what happens when stucco application is deficient. The man is a walking encyclopedia of building science, and I was pretty exhausted by the time he was finished with the inspection, but what an education! His knowledge and his passion for his work is very impressive, and he is sincere in his efforts to rid the world of deficient stucco application. His horror stories of stucco problems are equally impressive, but he was able to show me that my problem is correctable and not as bad as some he has seen - and he's seen a lot. It has been a huge relief to find someone that has enough interest in this work to do a very thorough and complete inspection and finally find the source of my problem. I am now waiting on a proposal for stucco repair from Craig, and I trust this man implicitly to repair the stucco the right way (still need to see the price for the repair). I would not hesitate to use Craig again for his inspection services if I ever buy another home in this area, and I highly recommend Craig and AMD to anyone who is struggling with moisture, mold, drainage issues or stucco damage. His inspection was invaluable and has greatly eased my worries over my stucco problems.
Description of Work: Craig Camel from Advanced Mold Diagnostics did an inspection of the stucco portion of my home, which is about half of the exterior. He first did an exterior visual inspection of the back wall of the stucco portion, which is where I am noticing problems. He then went inside the house and into the basement, where he inspected the walls, the floor, the window and the drain system for moisture and potential mold problems, even though I didn't specifically request a mold inspection (good to find out I don't have any mold problems!). He gave me a great deal of info and tips on what I need to do to correct existing moisture problems and prevent new ones, especially if I plan to refinish the basement. He uses a moisture meter to indicate the moisture content of various surfaces, which is very enlightening. He then went all the way through the interior of the stucco portion of the house with an infrared camera on all the walls, the floors, the ceiling and around all the windows and was able to pinpoint the source of my persistent leak and its path through my stucco, and it was what I suspected, but had no way to comfirm it until Craig showed up with that camera. He also gave me a thick packet of information on stucco, the materials required, the code specifications and the details of how stucco should be correctly applied, and we had a long discussion on the discrepancies between how stucco is meant to be applied for best performance and what shortcuts the builders and contractors typically take that cause stucco failure. Craig was at my home for nearly 4 hours during that inspection - it was not only thorough, but it was more of an education than I ever thought I'd get on the specifics of stucco.

The problem was not a big enough problem to use this company. They were professional, courteous, on time and followed up with an email to see how the services worked, I would recommend them if you need mold work evaluated.
Description of Work: They came and did the estimate and we decided not to use them. The estimate was very reasonable. Their report was very detailed and thorough.

We lived in our home for four years before we started noticing signs of water staining around some of the windows. I knew from talking to my neighbors that other people in our development have had problems and needed to have their stucco taken off & replaced. I never, for a moment thought that would be us, unfortunately it did. We hired Advanced Mold Diagnostics to see if and how bad a problem we had. It turned out it wasn?t good. Craig and his team showed us all the things wrong with how our stucco was put on and for the possibly for mold to grow. Quite frankly, I was in disbelief until they took off a small section of our stucco behind the hedge and I saw for myself that the plywood was wet, black, moldy and really soft. We received a pretty thick report with all the moisture readings, documentations and recommendations as to what to do, which in our case was to have it fixed. Craig is extremely knowledgeable about what turns out is a very common problem. My wife and I both got quite an education that day. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend this company. We had a bunch of contractors come out and give us prices to fix the stucco. After what we had learned from Advanced Mold and armed with the report as to how to do it right we didn?t feel comfortable with any of them. We ended up hiring Craig?s company to do the work, their price was a little higher than everyone else?s, but we could see that they were doing the work properly. I wasn?t going through this again and we agreed we were willing to pay for the best and that?s what we got.
Description of Work: They did a stucco inspection.

Very good. The basement tested clean afterward by an independent professional. My contract with Advanced Mold stipulated I had to hire an objective, independent source for the post-abatement assessment. This was another sign to me of their professionalism. Collateral damage to the basement was basically none. Overall it was a very positive experience. Craig and his team deliver a very competent and thorough service on what is a very unfortunate situation for any home. They are honest and highly qualified. This is not the type of job you want anything less.
Description of Work: They first performed a pre-abatement assessment to determine the extent of microbial growth contamination in the basement. Afterward they submitted a proposal for remediation which I accepted based on my high level of comfort they would deliver excellent service on such an important matter. The remediation took a couple of weeks and included significant demolition.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Angie's List for providing the name and reference reviews for Advanced Mold Diagnostics. We had the need to access a competent and knowledgeable source for identifying and correcting a hazardous health situation in our cousin?s home in Bells Corner, NE Philadelphia. The service and analysis of the situation from an extremely reputable company, with the confidence in the owner, Craig Camel, an acknowledged and recognized expert in his field, and the execution of ALL of the repair work necessary was performed in a cost effective manner. The professionalism and work ethics, and the completion of the work went above and beyond the written reports and proposals. Dyan Folino, his quality control and scheduler, was a sweetheart. Any questions that needed to be answered were handled on a priority basis, even after hours and on the weekend. I would not hesitate to recommend Craig, Dyan, and their staff and company for repair and analysis work in the area of mold remediation. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest grade, I would rate them a 15 (A+++++)
Description of Work: Mold Testing and analysis. Remediation of the entire basement problem. Installed interior drain pipe and sump pump to eliminate any further problems. Made sure that all electrical, HVAC and plumbing connections were functional following the remediation. Left the premises in better than new condition upon completion.

We contacted at least 6 or 7 mold companies after seeing some black spotty areas in our basement. Our basement had taken in some water during the heavy rains this past Spring. We called several companies, none of which impressed us during our initial call. We then called Advanced Mold Diagnostics and spoke with someone who was able to answer our questions and seemed to understand our situation and what we might be experiencing. She suggested an assessment of our property. We didn't schedule anything during our initial conversation because we wanted to call a few more places. We quickly found out that Advanced Mold Diagnostics seemed to be the most knowledgeable of all the companies we had called and called them back to schedule a time to come out to our home for an assessment. A representative of the company, actually it turned out to be the owner, came out to our property to perform the inspection. He pointed out several areas of mold that we were unaware of in our basement. He also made some suggestions on how we could keep this from happening again in out future. We were comfortable and felt that all of our questions had been thoroughly answered during Craig's time in our home. They provided us with a detailed report and cleaning of the basement was suggested. We called Advanced Mold Diagnostics and discussed the remediation process and what it would entail. We were very impressed with Craig's insistence that if we were to hire Advanced Mold Diagnostics to perform the remediation work, we would have to hire an independent company to perform a post-abatement assessment to check the work that Advanced Mold Diagnostics would be doing to make sure that his company cleaned everything completely. This was all we needed to hear to know that we had a company with integrity and we immediately hired Advanced Mold Diagnostics to do the remediation work. The crew was professional, responsible and very helpful with all of our questions what we had on a daily basis. The took many precautions and were respectful of the fact that this was our home and they took great care with our personal items stored in the basement. The remediation went on without a problem. The follow up inspection was performed by another company and the project was deemed to be free of mold. The inspector even remarked at how thorough the job was done and how clean the containment looked. We are very thankful to Craig Camel and his staff at Advanced Mold Diagnostics. From the initial phone call to the last day when the crew arrived to remove their equipment, our experience with Advanced Mold Diagnostics was a positive one. I would highly recommend this company for any kind of mold problem or water problem you might be experiencing.

Upon his arrival and for a considerable part of the time that he was here, the owner of the business spent a lot of time detailing his and his company's experience and expertise in dealing with situations like mine. In fact it got to the point where I had to remind him that he already had the job, he did not need to "sell" me anymore. Incidentally, he did this (continuing to sell me) while interjecting that he had another appt for which he would need to leave "a little early". The owner and technician spent at least 2 hours photographing and taking moisture level readings and infrared readings. I was told I should have a detailed report within 7-10 business days. I have heard NOTHING from them since that day...nearly 10 weeks ago! I called the office last week and the person answering the phone apologized, said the owner was out sick that day, and that she sees the report on his desk and it appears to be "95% complete". I was told that I should hear back from "in a few days"...it has been 5 days and again, I have heard NOTHING! My experience with this company has been awful....a complete waste of my time and $. I would not recommend their services to ANYONE!
Description of Work: Owner and technician came and spent ~2.5 hours examining house and taking photographs and "moisture readings". And I have not heard a word since....

Response from Advanced Mold Diagnostics Inc
As an honest, ethical company who takes an enormous amount of pride in the services we offer to our customers, I find this post disheartening. Our client is incorrect in that it took 10 weeks for him to get his finalized report, it took 3 weeks which is a bit longer than the two weeks we shoot for. In fact we have an email confirmation that it went out and we did not get any email bounce backs. So, him not informing us that he hadn’t received his report until 10 weeks later was a surprise. Upon hearing this the report was immediately sent that day for the second time and then he claimed he still hadn’t received it and proceeded to put this slanderous post on Angie’s List. We have made numerous attempts to contact this customer as we have a policy that we guarantee your satisfaction. The customer will not return our phone calls or respond to our emails. If he had we would have made every effort to resolve this even to the point of returning his money as we enjoy an unblemished reputation and take great pride in that. In December, 2008, the owner of AMD, together with an assistant, performed a mold inspection that measured the air quality in our home, including attic and crawl space and outdoor background. AMD furnished a detailed written report with photos and test results, and proposed remedial plans for the attic and crawl space, with various options. AMD thereafter served as a consultant to review the plans for mold remediation project in crawl space that was performed by another contractor in June 2009. AMD's advice helped me to put the proper provisions and benchmarks for mold remediation into the contract with the crawl space contractor, as well as to obtain the services of that contractor necessary for the attic renovation. The attic and roofing replacement work were performed by a fine roofing contractor who coordinated with the mold remediator during the construction, removing the affected material and protecting the remainder while designing ventillation system to avoid repeat of mold condition in attic. AMD helped to coordinate this, through me, so that the work would solve the mold problem and create a wonderful new attic space full of light and air. AMD also conducted tests of the crawl space after remediation, disclosing that additional remediation was needed before clearance could be granted, and forcing the mold remediator to live up to their contractual promises. AMD also critiqued some questionable test results obtained by the mold remediator after second effort was completed.
Description of Work: Mold evaluation, testing and reports on whole house. Special consulting with respect to mold remediation in attic and crawl space renovations that were performed by other contractors.

I was very impressed with the detailed explanation of the work that I received before actually committing to have the work done. The company was very easy to work with, and they worked around other contractors and our schedules. They responded quickly and efficiently when a change order became necessary. I had the estimate and proposed change order within 6 hours of discussing the issue, was able to execute it that day, and had the crew at our house start the revised work the next morning. This company seems to strive to make the process of mold remediation easier on their clients, and my wife and I greatly appreciated their efforts. Very professional and I would highly recommend them. Worth every penny.
Description of Work: Complete mold remediation in the full basement of the house including removal of wall coverings and flooring from finished portion
