Description of Work: Our daughter had been having a lot of respiratory problems and her doctor suggested that we test the house for mold. We called on a Friday and he made an appointment for Monday morning. At that time he gave us a price for a complete evaluation ($695) He showed up on time with his assistant. Thespend a total of about 2 hours going over the whole house looking for mold but also checking the air quality. They did not find much mold except in the attic. He laid out a plan for us to deal with what mold he found and steps to avoid it in the future. He also gave us advice on how to deal with other air quality issues. The only step he suggested that was more business for him was an air filter that he sold us which he claims as far and away the best on the market. We were very happy with them. They were very professional and seemed to really know their stuff. We would use them again if we were in a similar situation. I can't really evaluate their price because I didn't to any comparisons.

Description of Work: Concern for mold in multiple areas of our home prompted a need for an assessment. I chose to call AMD due to the many good reviews on Angie's List. They were very responsive to my call and scheduled the assessment within a few days. The first appointment had to be rescheduled due to their employee being ill, but they were very accommodating and another appointment was scheduled just a day or two later. On the appointed day, Frank arrived on time and slowly and methodically walked through the house with us identifying areas of concern, as well as things we could take care of ourselves to save money. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and responsive to our questions. About a week later we received the proposal to remediate the bathroom and master bedroom. We accepted the proposal and set a date to have the work done. A family emergency on our part required a change of date and AMD was very accommodating to the situation. The thing I really liked is that they always answer the phone - a real person, not a machine. Mostly I spoke to Ryan, whom I called so frequently at one point that he answered addressing me by name. He was always courteous and accommodating and just prior to the job got me on the phone with Craig so I could address some concerns and confirm the scope of the job. During the four days on the job we met multiple members of the AMD team. On the first day, a three man team showed up to setup and prep for the needed demo and remediation, and Craig dropped by to check in and assure that things were going well. He clearly cares about his customers, employees and the quality of work being performed. Towards that end, he suggested one additional area for remediation and we approved the change order to have the work done. Craig also had his team dispose of the bathtub and the closet doors at no additional cost to the original contract. The majority of the work was done by Santiago and Abad - two of the hardest working men it has every been our pleasure to meet. They were very courteous, responsive to our requests and questions and very respectful of our home. They went above and beyond the initial scope of the job and did an exceptional job at remediating the mold and preparing the area for rebuild. On the second to the last day we met Gary who was very helpful in answering our questions and making suggestions for the rebuild. All in all it was a very positive experience.

Description of Work: Craig, the owner of Advanced Mold Diagnostics, came out to a home that my wife and I were about to purchase and discovered multiple areas of the home where water had entered - leaving behind mold. He brought out many tools that even impressed my real estate agent who has been in the business for (20) years and didn't stop until he nailed down the cause of each of the problems. What was most impressive was his ability to see through the walls at water damage that was not visible to the human eye using his infrared camera equipment. The fee for this service was well spent and I am grateful to Craig for doing such an outstanding job and saving my wife's health (as she is highly alergic to mold).

Description of Work: Initially, I thought Advanced Mold Diagnostics was expensive. I am writing to HIGHLY recommend them and state they are worth every penny if not more. The customer service was excellent. From my initial contact, they are friendly, flexible and knowledgeable. We had problems with a seller granting access and an inspection period ending in just a couple of days. Craig and Debbie helped to get the inspectors to the home as quickly as possible. They were punctual, professional and a true pleasure to deal with. We were unable to be at the inspection personally due to work commitments. Craig, called me personally to let me know what he observed from the house! I felt like I was dealing with someone I have known for years not just two days! The two realtors there raved about their service,punctual, very thorough and knowledgeable. One being the one trying to sell the house, whom was quicky losing the sale! Advanced Diagnostics found water behind walls we were not aware of. We ended up pulling out of the contract, and Advanced Mold was able to help us contain the cost of the inspection by stopping some testing in the works.They saved us a fortune! I can't thank them enough for the kindness, knowledge and pure great customer service they provided during a very stressful time. I was in need of education about whether to get a free estmate or an assessment and how it all works. He was extremely helpful and responsive. Description of Work: December 2, 2009 To potential customers, I am writing to express my deep gratitude for the mold remediation and rebuild that Craig Camel and Advanced Mold Diagnostics (AMD)/ Advanced Building Strategies (ABS) provided for me and my family. I would aggressively lobby anyone experiencing mold problems to contact AMD/ABS. This past summer (2009), Montgomery County, PA experienced heavy rains and flooding as did much of the Philadelphia region. Our home sits at the bottom of a neighborhood with heavy ground water passing through our lot. Poor grading and drainage, combined with a consistently high water table resulted in a mold problem inside our family room and basement. The mold first appeared creeping up our baseboard the day before we were to leave on a family vacation. My wife was expecting and in her first trimester and we have a toddler. Not having many options, I called a few companies from the phone book to see if they could come right out, but I was unsuccessful. I was told that because of the volume of calls, I was going to have to wait until I returned from vacation for an appointment. I went out and bought a couple of dehumidifiers, placed them in the two contaminated rooms, and scheduled an appointment with SERVPRO for the first day back. Upon my return, I met with a representative from SERVPRO. He explained their procedure for the clean up (which was much less thorough than what I received from AMD/ABS) and was ready for hire. Concerned about the well-being of my daughter, wife, and unborn child I had questions about the type of mold that was in our home, the effectiveness of the clean up procedure, and the long range plan for preventing this in the future. The representative was a young guy who confessed that he did not have much knowledge beyond the clean up procedure. Unsatisfied and uncomfortable with the lack of knowledge displayed by the SERVPRO representative I called another mold remediation company from the phone book. This company was one man who had a past mold problem in his home, read up on the topic, dealt with it independently, and then decided to make it his business. Although he presented knowledgeable about mold, I was worried that his cleaning process would be too acute and ignore surrounding areas and possible origins. In addition, I felt that he didn’t have access to appropriate diagnostic and remediation equipment. I decided it was in my family’s best interest to do another search for mold remediation companies. As soon as I called AMD/ABS, I felt like I had found the company I was looking for. Dyan Folino (Production Manager) spoke intelligently and compassionately to me explaining what AMD/ABS could do for me. She recommended that the owner, Craig Camel inspect my home and take spore samples. Craig’s inspection was not cheap, especially considering the other two companies didn’t charge to come out. However, the previous two companies failed to convince me of their competency and ability. Craig Camel was able to do this and provide me with the answers and thoroughness I was looking for. During the visual inspection portion of Craig’s initial visit he examined the entire house. He spoke to me honestly and straightforward. He identified problem areas and hypothesized origins. He inquired about the home’s history and investigated its construction. I found Craig to be knowledgeable and his inspection to be comprehensive. Following the visual inspection, air samples were taken from inside and outside the house. They were sent to the lab for processing and I was sent a detailed report on the mold conditions inside and outside my home. AMD/ABS followed up with me to answer questions and provide support in reading and understanding the technical report. I decided that I was going to hire AMD/ABS to complete the mold remediation. Complicating matters for my family was the necessary rebuilding of damaged areas as well as needed waterproofing in the basement. The den rebuild was pretty straightforward, but I wanted a professionally finished product. The walls needed to be cut 4’ off the ground around the perimeter of the room, insulation needed to be replaced, and new mold resistant wall board needed to be blended in. AMD/ABS submitted a fair quote for the den rebuild. I was happy with their expediency and craftsmanship and ultimately pleased with the finished product. The basement waterproofing was a more difficult decision for me. I knew I needed a true interior French Drain to address the basement water issue. I spoke with Craig about pricing and included services and warranties. I also contacted B Dry Waterproofing. After speaking with both companies multiple times I decided to hire AMD/ABS. My decision was based on Craig’s honesty. I felt confident that both companies could install an effective drainage system. The difference was that Craig offered a fair quote from the very beginning while the B Dry salesman played the pricing game of starting high, then eventually over a week’s time coming down to match the quote offered by Craig. In addition, the B Dry salesman spoke ill of Craig and his company, questioning his honesty and craftsmanship. After two years of renovating my home I’ve come across more than my share of dishonest and inept contractors. Craig had already proved that he was both honest and capable with the mold remediation. In addition, I was skeptical about the B Dry salesman concerning his usage of scare tactics and “put downs” with regard to his competition. I am writing this recommendation 5 months post-remediation and rebuild. I am very happy with the work done by AMD/ABS. I was made to feel like a top priority from our first contact. The work crew was honest, professional, hard working, and scrupulous. Craig was caring and invested in my family’s well-being and consequently we are living in our home worry-free. AMD/ABS charged a fair price and provided excellent service. It is without hesitation that I recommend Mr. Craig Camel’s Advanced Mold Diagnostics/ Advanced Building Strategies as a competent, capable, and fair mold diagnostic, remediation, and construction company.
