Art Toran definitely took on a difficult problem we've had with our house- our roof continually leaking water into our house from a previously bad flashing/HVAC unit placement on our roof. He installed a new HVAC unit w/ 6-year compressor warranty. He also had the added task of coordinating this job with a roofer & a crane operator to raise the new unit on our roof and lower the old unit. Additionally, he installed our filters behind the vents inside of our house, as we previously had to do this on the roofdeck (not fun to do in the winter). I was very happy to finally get this job done (I have had several HVAC & roofers deny this job!) and done by someone who was very pleasant to deal with.

He was really over priced for coming in and saying that everything is okay. I spent $85 for 15 minutes; it was quite annoying. We don?t hire a plumber for social skills. I thought he was okay but I would not call him back. He did not do anything. I needed to know if the automatic feeder of my heating system was broken. He said that it was not broken but he did not tell me why it was not automatically feeding in water which was the question that I had asked. However, he did say that the furnace itself had been incorrectly installed 12 years ago. He said that it needed the 4 other pieces that should have been put on immediately. I was quite alarmed and called somebody else to come out and take a look. I was wondering how I had used a furnace for 12 years with numerous plumbers looking at it and this guy was the first on to tell me about it. When the other company came out and looked at it they told me that I did not need it. They told me that I had a fail safe system that was built into the furnace and told me not to worry about it. I was not happy with Toran at all.

I obtained 3 quotes from companies located on Angie's List. All of the quotes were about the same but I went with Mr Toran's company. I thought that he was professional, thorough, and accomodating. I had not met the other 2 reps from the competing companes so I relied on feedback from my mother who was present during their visits. All were responsive and provided quick turnaround with quotes. I went with the Toran company because they could do the job in the time frame that I needed and properly deal with some of the little issues that were of a concern to me. I felt that the installers were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. Mr Toran was always a phone call away. I am satisfied with the job. However I do not know how the A/C will work until the summer but the furnace seems to be fine currently.

It was done when promised, and it took two days to install, exactly what Mr. Torin told me it would. He arranged everyuthing, including the financing

Our old (1970s) furnace finally died and we called several companies for replacement estimates. Most companies pointed out that our old (1890s) chimney would need to be lined if we went with regular venting. Toran's prices were excellent -- not the cheapest (but the cheapest guys didn't address the venting problems or even notice) -- and Art himself was honest and knowledgeable, even alerting us to available government credits for energy efficient furnaces. Art was the MOST responsive of everyone we called and the work was scheduled and completed quickly. The new furnace is great.

The work crew on our job was careful, polite, and knowledgeable. We had several estimates and Art Toran was not only the most reasonable but the most detailed. We would recommend Toran Heating and Air Conditioning in an unqualified manner. We are so glad that we found them in the nick of time!

We called them to come do an estimate. We also called several other companies, but Toran's estimate was the lowest. When Mr. Toran came to do the estimate, we were interested in several different possible boiler options and he was very clear about what each option would involve and how much it would cost. Once we decided what we wanted, they installed it promptly and cleaned up well. They showed us how to bleed the radiators, which we didn't know before. Mr. Toran didn't do the installation himself, but he followed up the next day to collect the final payment make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Overall, it was a very good experience. Everyone we dealt with was very professional and their price seemed quite fair.

I got 3 estimates before hiring Toran. Art Toran and his people were very responsive and respectful. I have been quite pleased overall and have referred him to others.

I made an appointment for someone to come and give me an estimate, called to confirm and I was told the person is going to be away this weekend even though I booked over a week ago. Had I not called to confirm, was someone going to let me know of this? Obviously no one was going to show up on the set date and time.

I had a personal visit to review the work and provide an estimate. I was given options on how to complete the project and the cost imapacts of each. I explained that I currently owned the property but may rent it in a few years. Toran explained which option suited my best interesets in terms of energy efficiency vs. overall cost. This was extremely helpful. They did not pressure me to take the more expensive product. They just gave me the facts and I ended up taking the less expensive unit because that is what suited me best. It was installed on the day and time I was told. The workers were very friendly and left the place clean. To date, the system has worked great. Many reviews say that it is not the product that fails but it is the installer. I can not agree more. Toran did a great job and i don't expect any problems.

I contacted Toran Heating after reviewing all the positive comments about them on Angie's List. Art Toran came out on Wednesday August 19 and quoted me a price for the installation. Art was very honest about the existing ductwork in my house. He informed me that because the ducts going to the second floor were narrow, I would not experience the cooling on the second floor that occured on the first floor. He told me that additional ductwork could be added to greatly enhance the cooling on the second floor. He then advised me against doing this additional work by telling me that the extra cost would far outweigh the benefit of the additional cooling on the second floor. He told me that using my existing celing fans in the second story bedroom should make them quite comfortable. I decided to take his advice. The installation took place on August 24 and 25. Art's installers were punctual, professional and cleaned up after themselves. Art came out as them job was being completed to check that everything was done to our mutual satisfaction. The system is performing exactly as Art told me that it would. While the upstairs is about 3 degrees warmer than the first floor, the use of a ceiling fan makes the bedrooms quite comfortable. While I am certain that there are other firms that would do a fine installation, I am most impresse at Art Toran's integrity in being honest as to the best value for my investment and not trying to upsell the addition of extra ductwork! I highly recommend using Toran Heating for your HVAC needs.

We were very happy from the beginning to the end. They were very professional, responsive and punctual. Art Toran (the owner) and his crew were very professional, responsive and punctual. They also cleaned up everything after the work is done. Art responded promptly to my request for an estimate to replace my old heating and A/C units. He came and made an inspection of the house thoroughly, including measurements needed to determine the correct size of my A/C unit. They were the only ones that did a measurement and calculation on the house to determine the correct size need for my units. Art actually recommended a smaller system for my central AC than anybody else, therefore saving us money. I appreciated that he did not try to sell me a larger AC unit than was needed. He also explained to me that installing a wrong size AC unit can caused the heat pump to break down. The response to my request for an estimate was very quick. As promised, he called me back with proposals the next day. I explained to Art that I have other projects scheduled around the house. He was extremely flexible and was able to schedule the work the following week. It was a 2 days job and completed on time. They did an excellent job, and cleaned up everything after the work. No debris were left behind. A few weeks after my units were installed, I had a flood in the basement on a Sunday. I called Art immediately to make sure there?s no water damage to the newly installed furnace. Without any hesitation, he promised to come out the next day. I could not have asked for better, more professional or responsive service. You can't go wrong with a guy who work 7 days a week, and always reachable on his cellphone.

Great job, from start to finish. What I keep coming back to is: Art Toran did not try to oversell the job. He is an honest business owner.

I had contacted four contractors to install a new furness and a/c system. Toran was head and shoulders above the other three. Where the others seemed to send out "salesmen" to quote and help us with the selection process Toran's representatrive was someone who actually would do the work and was very knowledgable in recommendind and sizeing the system. He was also very responsive in following up in answering our pre-installation questions.He familuar with and informed us on the PA & federial rebate tax credit programs. The work was done on schedule in a clean and professional maner with quality equipment and employees.

We got estimates from multiple companies. Toran owner Art Toran was the first to sit down with us and do the estimate on the spot. He did a great job explaining all the variations and pricing options on which most other companies were very unclear. Work was scheduled within two weeks of our deposit and completed on time. Toran's workers were friendly and careful in our house for the few days they were here. We had two minor issues with our new system and Art came out twice as soon as we called to make adjustments.

It went very well. Art (owner) was timely and fair with his estimate. He gave us a work date just a few days after the estimate, as requested, and he and his men were professional. It took them 1.5 days instead of 1 to complete the job, but the end result was excellent. In order to avoid the kind of problem that ruined our old exterior unit (an excess of rainwater and mud washing into the bottom of the unit), they propped the new unit on cinder blocks. That was an innovate solution that looks like it will work very well. Art is also easily reachable on his cell phone. I have no complaints and will be using Toran again for all of our heating and a/c needs in the future.

Not well. There was no sense of interest in my near $20,000 project. So much for a recession.

I scheduled an appointment a week ahead of time, and they never showed up. When I called, they didn't even remember we had an appointment.

The job went great. Art's crew was polite and hard-working, and his price was extremely competitive, given the amount of work and cost of materials. We were happy with the job, and will call Toran Heating to service the unit on an annual basis.

In an effort to upgrade my older home, which was not equipped with central air conditioning, I received quotes from three contractors. As soon as I met Art, I knew he was the right man for the job. Art was prompt and professional; he offered not one but two solutions and using the exact same equipment, his quote was significantly less than the others I had received. His crew was equally professional, respectful and courteous; they made the difficult task of adding air conditioning to a nearly 100 year old home look effortless. They were amazing problem solvers and completed the job on time with no need to have any carpentry work performed-an additional savings! I would highly recommend Art Toran for all of your heating and air conditioning needs!

Toran Heating and A/Cs estimate was the lowest of the three that I received for the furnace. Communication with Art Toran (owner) was excellent, and the estimate, job scheduling and installation all went according to plan within a two-week time period. The crew that came to do the work was professional, courteous and respectful. Job clean up was excellent and the old furnace was also hauled away. The furnace has performed well this chilly winter (2008-09). We have been very pleased with our experience with Toran Heating and A/C and recommend them highly.

It went great! I decided to use them because they do not charge a flat rate just for showing up and Art even came out on Sunday to perform the maintenance on my furnace. We had a minor miscommunication in that he thought he was just coming for an estimate but when I worried to him out loud about not being able to use my heater on the coldest day so far he said he would go back to the shop to get the right equipment to clean the furnace. I was amazed that they didn't charge overtime for coming out on a Sunday! What a relief. He even instructed my husband on how to maintain the furnace himself and told us that we would be capable enough to switch out our old dial thermostat for the new digital one we purchased (rather than charging an arm and a leg for something we could do ourselves). He was prompt to call me back on Monday with a recommendation for someone to clean our ducts out too. I would definitely use them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to someone else.

The stainless steel chimney liner was installed in the morning, and shortly after that the new furnace arrived. Approximately 30 minutes later the workmen arrived to begin the installation of the new heater. The installation took 2 days. The following day after the installation of the new heater the old heater and oil tank were removed from the basement. All of this work was done extremely professionally. The contractors arrived when they said they would and upon completion left my home in the same condition that it was found. I would recommend this company to anyone who has need for service or installation of a heater.
