So rude and unprofessional - uncalled for. Steve came out in April of 22 of last year for our gas fireplace - the pilot went out every time we turned off the unit. He cleaned it up and reset at the first visit. The issue persisted so he came out again April 27th and we paid for a part to be replaced. The issue was temporarily alleviated but not fixed. Steve came out again Oct 18. His wife called to move the time slot he would be coming in twice prior to his arrival. He replaced our thermocoupler and charged us another $225. I said I was confused because of the previous instance. They didn't have record of the 27th visit so I paid them just happy to have the unit working. The same issue started again the next day. They said they'd get back to me on scheduling and proposed halloween afternoon, to which I said we'd be trick or treating with our toddler and this would be the fourth time they came out. Steve left me an angry voicemail saying that I was off base and they hadn't been out four times (which I know, it would have been their fourth). He was so rude in the message I didn't call back immediately. His wife texted me to propose another time for a visit, and I said okay. She then texted me again and said she made a scheduling error (this was the third time she'd told me this including the two the day of our service). So I said this levelv of service was disappointing - see text images. Long story short they claim they have detailed records of visits but don't have a record of one of mine and have gotten scheduling confused three times. Then Steve started being hostile and name calling, refused to finish the job, ignored my requests for a refund and blocked me. We've paid hundreds of dollars just to be treated like s***, blocked and not had our fireplace fixed. Terrible, terrible experience.

It was very easy to make an appointment with a phone call. Steve was very neat & professional, showed up precisely at the time we agreed. He knew right away the problem and replaced the bad wiring under the unit. Unfortunately, the intermittent issue continued. Steve returned a few days later and replaced the wall switch in a few minutes, at no charge, apologizing for not checking it during the original service call. I would definitely recommend Steve. He was friendly & pleasant and got the job done.

A few years ago Anchor cleaned and serviced my 2 gas fireplaces. The end of March I had them back to clean the same 2 gas fireplaces. They charged me more than double the previous visit. I immediately mentioned the cost and they said they would work something out with me. I never heard from them so I called. I also mentioned that my glass had sticky streaks and a lot of condensation. I asked them to come back and mentioned to call first. Apparently they came out without calling. I called them last week because the condensation was worse, and they set up an appointment for Monday, August 29th at 3:30 and never showed. I called this morning and Steve informed me that he does not want to do business with me. How convenient! He takes my money, does a shoddy job and then won't come out to fix the mistake. Be very wary of this company and get a price quote before each and every time they come out. Customer service does not exist with this company, but unprofessionalism does!

Steve did a complete maintenance, including cleaning, painting and removing build-up. He and his assistant cleaned the inside and the outside, including the glass cover. The fireplace looks great and is sparkly clean. He also spent time explaining how to use the remote. Very pleased with the service.

Anchor Fireplace responded quickly after being called. They set up an appointment within a week, which was fantastic!!! (Other places were giving reservations 4 or 5 weeks out.)(and more recently quoted)
Arrival was early as they finished another job earlier than expected. They called to ask if they could come about an hour early and I said..Heck Yes!!!
I have had the fireplace serviced once before by a local, on Angie's List provider. Anchor provided a much more in depth service, cleaning EVERYTHING. They also painted the interior sidewalls to make the whole fireplace look like new. This was a much more in depth service and they didn't try and sell me a remote igniter like the first company did.
After all this you would think it would be pretty expensive, but it was HALF what the other company charged (and more recently quoted). Anchor even showed me some controls for the flame and fan I didn't even know I had!!
I highly recommend Anchor Gas Fireplace Services and will certainly use them in the future. They have been added to my favorites!
If you want someone prompt, courteous, professional and fair....call Anchor Fireplace Services

Arrived promptly and went to work, then departed without a trace..  My unit is original - 1991 or so.  Very complicated unit.  Steve did a thorough cleaning and service, advised me on issues to be aware of in future.  They are a local family-owned company and focus on Wilsonville and Sherwood.

Their service tech showed up about 30 minutes late but once he got going the work went quickly and was very professional. It took about an hour to check for gas leaks, adjust the insulation and logs, clean the glas, and paint the interior. The house is about 12 years old and this was probably the first time the fireplace was serviced. It was so dirty that we never used it; now it works great and looks great.

It turned out that I didn't replace the glass door correctly and that was causing the problem. Good to know but still an expensive lesson.

Steve was about 1/2 hour late but called to let us know ahead of the time he was supposed to be here so it was no big deal. When he arrived he was very professional and knew right away the issue we were having with the fireplace and how to correct it. He put a tarp down to ensure there was no spread of dirt or paint to unwanted areas. He was efficient in getting the necessary work done and friendly when discussing the cause of the problem, how to fix it and general service needs for the future. I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family.

Great. They were able to schedule the appointment within a week for a specific time. The service rep showed up on time, did the job in about 45 minutes, cleaned up, was professional, polite, explained what he was doing.

Tech came as scheduled to correct pilot light going out. Checked thermopile and it was bad so it was replaced. Lit the fireplace and all seemed good so we paid him and he left. Later after he left, the pilot light went out again we could not restart it. We worked with Nikki to get an appointment but over the next two days the technician did not show up at three times we were given -- no notice that he was not going to show up. We called to complain and Nikki gave us another appointment. The tech did show up on time for that appointment and installed a new thermocouple. This fixed the fireplace. We are satisfied with the repair but disappointed with missed scheduled show times.

We had noticed our pilot light had gone it, so since we've lived here for several years and hadn't had the fireplace service, we decided to get it checked over before we tried to relight it (the pilot light had never gone out on us before). Steve arrived about 15 minutes early for our appointment. He checked over the fireplace, cleaned it, and explained how to turn off the gas for the summer as well as relight the pilot light. He did all this in about 30 minutes.

Tech arrived on time, placed tarp on floor, and asked about the problem. He removed and cleaned the fire glass. He cleaned and repainted part of the firebox with high temperature paint. He vacuumed and cleaned the log area and the metal firebox. He inspected the igniter and pilot and measured the voltage across the igniter module. At his point it would have been easy to replace the igniter module with a new one, but the tech reported the problem was caused by a corroded connector (a common problem), which he cleaned. The tech showed me how to adjust the flame height and noted that the fireplace was prewired for a blower for which he quoted a price. The tech reassembled the fireplace, cleaned up the area, and left.

My fireplace just stopped working, even though the pilot light was on. After checking Angie's List, I called Anchor Fireplace. Bret came, cleaned the system out, inspected all parts of the fireplace, tightened some connections and got the fireplace running again.

Bret not only got the burners going again, he cleaned the fireplaces inside and out, and left the glass sparkling. He was on time (in fact he came early after calling to check if that would be OK). He was pleasant and took obvious pride in his work.
