Terra-Sol Landscaping

Absolutely the best possible experience and outcome. If I could give a 6 star rating I would. We first contacted David and Terra-Sol over 2 years ago and were very impressed with the landscape design, which was right on target, and with the sense that we could trust Terra-sol with such an expensive and important investment. In October (the second wettest October on record) they started our project and worked nonstop for over a week, a crew of 3-4 (or more) with equipment and many truckloads of haul old and in with new soil and rock. The finished product is fabulous. We are very picky when spending this type of money and we were fearful that like many other contractors their objective would to cut corners - but we happily watched as this veteran crew totally remade our back yard, painstakingly and beautifully, and have we said dozens of time that we are so happy with selecting Terra-Sol. As expensive as it was, I view it as a bargain. Without exception, everyone has loved the finished product. Something less obvious to others was our drainage problems. Our back yard would literally flood. One day last year we can home to a duck floating on our standing water (no joke). I am so happy to report that last month when we had 9" of snow rapidly melt, coinciding with 3" of heavy rain, it all drained away perfectly. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. He was very good about putting a plan together and listening to our desires for the plan and making adjustments for that. He also had very good suggestions that we hadn't thought about that turned out to be very good. And then, it was quick. Once he got here, it was only a couple of days and he done with the work.

David Zimmerman came out as scheduled to discuss my projects on friday Dec 9, 2016, told me he would get me the bids by monday Dec.12th. I called tue Dec 13th to remind the company. Apparently he threw together a proposal that afternoon that was terrible in scope of description , lack of specific material, no breakdown between paver job and new sod job. it was a total of 9 sentences most of them actually phrases the equivalent of a small paragraph for a cost of $15,948. If i had any questions to give them a call. I certainly had many questions as that Bid was unacceptable, there was no installation procedures for either job, how deep would they excavate, what is the sq. ft for each project. lack of specific pavers and design like soldier border. What kind of compost, weed free, what is the organic content? would there be any sand/grave under top soil to help with drainage? What kind of rock over french drain? etc. Apparently as a female i am not supposed to understand what i am paying for, let alone ask for details.... as the initial response to my email with questions to the ridiculous /unprofessional proposal was that they would not be able to do my project and to look elsewhere. I replied that I already had a bid and these were follow up questions to that Bid on Thursday Dec. 15 Rea the manager did an "oops" and told me she would forward this on to David. Today David Dec 16 (friday) came back with the same response they would not be able to do my project and recommended another company. I don't think they liked that i wanted details, had questions and they blew me off.

They did an “A” job! They did fine! Very professional! They planned very well before they started. They knew their products well. Their employees were highly skilled.

As you can see from the above, the customer service was excellent! I am so thankful and relieved. They fixed the settled pavers to allow the water to flow away from my house and also created a dry well to help absorb heavy rainfall.

Excellent! I drew out what I had in mind and David and I walked through it. He then created a plan expanding on my idea with boulders, plants and lighting. The bid was quite reasonable. He spent about an hour with me in the week before he started, providing me with a catalog and website of pavers to choose. I went to the Rock suppliers, chose the materials and emailed David. He was so on the ball. I have never been so uninvolved with a project in my life. The workers were on time, respectful, professional, and made changes without question or delay. If I didn't like a plant, they took it away. They have their own artistic talent in the workers and we couldn't be more pleased with the result. The whole project, from tear-out to completion took only a week. We now sit in our beautiful front yard daily and feel infinitely more connected to our neighbors.

Everything went perfectly from the initial meetings with David to the clean-up at the end. The whole team was professional and punctual and everything was stress free from my point of view. We are so pleased with our new yard, from start to finish the project went great and the quality and attention to detail is hard to find. We can't recommend Terra-Sol highly enough.

David was easy to talk with and I felt our exchange demonstrated that David would make sure the work was completed to my satisfaction. I spoke with five different landscapers before making a decision. David's bid was lower than the landscaper I selected and while I did not choose to work with Terra-Sol at this time, I will not hesitate to refer others to contact them for landscaping & hardscaping projects.

We wanted to go grassless in our front yard. After a couple consults/bids, we selected Terra-Sol because they most understood what we were trying to accomplish. They removed the grass and built a lovely paved area with walkway to the curb (which was a functional need that we have really appreciated!), as well as rebuilding a section of fence and placing natural boulders and plants for a park like setting. This was all done last fall, but I waited until spring to post so that the beautiful dogwood tree that they placed could be seen in full bloom. Thanks Terra-Sol. We just love what you did.....

Unlike the other three companies I contacted for estimates, Dave told me my lawn was okay the way it was and that it wouldn't look that much better with new sod. He advised me not to use his services. Instead, he told me to apply a little moss remover and edge it up a bit. To me, that indicates an outstanding level of honesty and professionalism, two qualities sorely lacking in most of the other service providers I've hired. This guy is the real deal.

All aspects of the project were stress-free from the initial consultation with David, to the back & forth confirming the design, to the actual work and any follow-up. I was impressed on how quickly the crew completed the work and the requested follow-up to make things just the way we wanted. Terra-Sol has won some impressive awards for their Street Of Dreams work over the years and while our project was on a much smaller scale (I feel) they treated us the same. We are looking forward to the spring/summer and enjoying the new yard and garden space.

To begin with, my back yard needed to be leveled as it sloped down towards my house. I wanted a small patio and a retaining wall to break up the slope. I called Terra-Sol in June and David came out to look at the scope of my project. He said he'd draw up a plan and send me a quote. It came within the week. After getting several quotes and plans, I decided to use Terra Sol. Their price was in the middle, but the plan was by far more to what I was hoping for....a natural retreat. Their schedule was fairly booked already for the summer so the work was expected to start in October. When I saw that after 11/1l I could get a discount, I said let's just wait until after that date. I got a call early September indicating that they will be able to come and do the job now and, they would honor the discount we agreed on and that I expected. Work began on the 9th and was finished in 5 work days. Since I am up on a small hill and my driveway is narrow, from day one, the workers had to haul everything up and down my driveway. Soil, rocks, pavers, wood (a partial fence repair was done as well), equipment, etc. These men worked very hard each and every day. They were very polite to me and didn't waste a minute. My family and I are in awe at how transforming this experience was for us and my yard! I now have a yard so beautiful that is actually better than I could have dreamed.

David and his crew, Scott and Freddie, did an amazing job! They were professional, punctual and very knowledgeable. They came every day on time and with pleasant attitudes. They worked hard in very hot weather to get the job done on time. We did have on small set back when the pavers were sealed. Some of the pavers turned a hazy white color ( I think due to the heat and direct sun at the time the sealer was applied). However, David took care of it. He kept us informed and had the pavers replaced within a very short time. We are very very pleased with our new backyard. We look forward to working with David again when we spruce up the front yard with a water feature!

We didn't go forward with the bid. Dave was very, very nice and the bid was a good price. We decided to go with someone else to do the job in the end though Dave was our second choice.

Terra Sol was great to work with. From my first phone call and meeting with Dave to the completion of the project. Dan did an excellent job with the rock wall. He really knows what he is doing and really has a talent. I could not be happier with the experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Terra Sol Landscaping was great to work with! Dave Zimmerman was professional, had excellent recommendations and was very punctual. He called to inform us each time the workers were coming out to work and provided an accurate time frame for their arrival. His workers were hard working, fast, very neat, courteous and a pleasure to work with. Rhea Zimmerman is the office manager and she was delightful. She is very efficient and quick to respond to any questions we had. Ron and I highly recommend this company for landscaping services. Their bid was competitive with other bids we received. Terra Sol is a first rate company. Everyone that works for the company is excellent and goes the extra mile to provide first class service. When I bought my house the yard and all the trees and bushes had been neglected for years. Terra Sol came in and completely transformed the whole property quickly and for a very reasonable amount given how extensive the job was. I totally and unhesitatingly recommend them for any of your landscaping or hard scraping needs. They are a first class operation

Owner is great, personable guy and knows his stuff. They were to busy to be able to help us with basic yard clean up but did get back to us in a timely manner regarding possible retaining wall replacement at our new address. We are still getting more bids as this is coming out to be a significantly expensive job...

Dave is a great designer who listens to your needs and brings his experience to round out the solution. The crew is punctual, efficient, professional and experienced - and most importantly, great craftsmen. Besides being great at what they do, I felt that the crew was empowered to do what needed to be done to ensure customer satisfaction. There is always a level of unease when working with a new provider - do they understand what you are wanting to achieve, will they show up, are they responsive? With Dave and the crew, it was top notch, professional and I am 100% satisfied.

It went well. David came out within 24 hours of my initial email to look at my yard. He worked with my schedule to come and see me at a convenient time. He was friendly and had good suggestions and helped me figure out what would work to do what I wanted to do. We are very happy with results. We haven't had a lot of experience hiring people to help us fix up things around our house/yard (this is our first project of this scale/price) and I think this was an excellent way to start. We wanted an outdoor living space in time for nicer weather and we got exactly that!

I very much enjoyed working with Dave. He listened to all my "wishes" for what the yards would look like. He was always responsive to phone calls and was very prompt with appointments. His crew was great to have working in my yard.

The process to get an estimate with Tera Sol worked really well. They were very responsive and professional. I got a full written estimate and drawing proposal for my job. In the end, I chose a different type of service (stamped concrete vs paver) so I didn't select them.

We've had them four different projects now and I'd hire him again in a heartbeat. They really know what they are doing, very reasonably priced and I'm just totally satisfied. He just has an eye, he comes into your home and sits down with you, he takes your ideas and comes up with plans. His people are really good, quick and I've just never been unhappy with them. We've actually referred them to a lot of people in our neighborhood. They've been one of the best ever.
