Terra-Sol Landscaping

The yard in my rented house was devastated by the tenants. They had ripped out the bushes and shrubs, but, never had that done. I had put regular landscape, about 12 years ago. Terra Sol Landscaping cleared everything and re-barked everything. They put plants all around. In the sides off the sideway had some big boulders put in. They worked very fast and were knowledgeable. They did a very nice job and the owner was very good, too. He never put in anything irrelevant and only did things which were good. They were fairly priced. I liked them a lot and will use the same in future.

Dave was very knowledgable and made good recomendations regarding how to best get this job done for a reasonable price, given the location, lighting, existing plants and trees, etc. For example, he suggested reusing the top soil in the existing flower boxes instead of bringing in new soil. Also, the use of the existing sprinkler controller was more economical than installing a new one. The execution was exactly what was described/bid, and seems to be just right. The new grass hasn't come in yet, since it has only been a week, but I am hoping/assuming it will be fine.

We were impressed that the company continued to promptly address any problems we had had.

Our front yard was "tired," to put it mildly. We moved into the house when it was new back in 1986, and, at the time, came up with the typical amateur front-yard design: steps adjacent to the driveway, lawn in the middle, plants scattered here and there, walkway to the back. Last March, we stood out front, looked at our dismal yard, and decided that something had to be done. The problem: we had neither the design sense nor the know-how to execute a design. Luckily, David Zimmerman, owner of Terra Sol, did. He talked with us and returned about 10 days later with a design that exceeded our expectations. It was one of those "Yeah--that's what we were talking about" moments. After choosing the pavers and whatnot--a process that took a couple of weeks--the Terra Sol crew showed up on Monday, June 21, and worked through until June 30, or eight working days. David showed up periodically to see how things were going, but the crew was more than competent. The results were terrific, and gave us a front yard that we enjoy immensely and neighbors and passersby compliment us on. I would (and have) recommended Terra Sol without reservation.

When we decided to take out the small lawn, I contacted several landscapers. He was prompt and the price was reasonable. He drew up a plan and we discussed it to make small changes. While the project was delayed because he was sick and the weather was poor, he always contacted us in advance to let us know. We are very happy with the results.

They put in plants and put sod in. They also redid the lawn. It is a small company. The owner is very knowledgeable. He is very pleasant and works well with us. He has a lot of experience and his crew is good. Our overall experience with them was good.

We are very happy with what he was able to do within our budget. We are asking him to do more projects for us for our new home.

It turned out great. They were punctual and their workers were wonderful. Everything turned out to my satisfaction. Their prices were a little higher but the work was excellent and I would absolutely use them again.

Dave Zimmerman was very helpful in visualizing our ideas and his design exceeded our expectations. He was also flexible as the project was is progress. We started with the idea of making the landscape easy to care for and easy on the environment. Highest on our list was to have a large patio that was easy to maintain and great to look at. Next we wanted to remove all lawns and install paths and have a zen like garden planted. We also added low voltage lighting, and fencing after the project was started and Dave and his crew were flexible and helpful during the whole process. Also, Dave's cost estimates were right on target. We would highly recommend Terra Sol Landscaping. Our neighbors are now asking for the name of our landscaper and it seems we handed out as many Terra Sol business cards as we did candy during Holloween!

Excellent. Their vision was slightly different from my own- but theirs was better- it all works and ties the garden together. The owner, David, was never late, talked to me often during course of the work and fixed an inrriagtion system that had frustrated me for years.

David came up with a beautiful plan for our front yard and supplied us with a sketch and the names of all the plants. I didn't like some of the plants suggested and had some I wanted incorporated and he worked closely with me to come up with the final plant list. His crew removed the old plants and some rocky soil in two of the beds, then added a topsoil blend throughout. The man who brought in our large boulders gingerly nudged each one to its best side at the best angle. Heavy equipment & talented workers were abundant. Everyone was eager to please & it was obvious that they all took great pride in their work. The plants were laid out then David came to place them exactly where he thought they should go incorporating my suggestions. If a particular plant didn't work, he took it back and brought out a different one. I was unhappy with a large tree that had already been planted and he replaced it with another one. If any plant didn't perform as expected, he replaced it. He has come out several times since the completion of the project to check questionable plants. My husband & I interviewed many landscapers prior to hiring Terra-Sol Landscaping and David's talents, willingness to work with us, and overall enthusiasm shined well above all the rest. My husband & I are thrilled with the results and have received many compliments from our neighbors. Our final bill was a little higher than the estimate because we had added some extra things doing the construction.

We have worked with David twice-once on an extensive backyard project , which was completed in June 2008, and we love-and again on a front/side yard plan. He is knowledgeable and listen's to his clients needs/wants.

They were fantastic. They were on time and clean up was great. I would highly recommend.

They were very easy to work with and mellow. However we had a problem with getting information back and forth a few times. He provided new ideas for us too. Overall I would say things were good.

They were very nice to work with and were a very good company. Dave, the owner was very pleasant to deal with. We've since used them to do other work.

Some of the plants that they put in died. I called him about getting those taken care of, he said he would come back out and take care of it but never did. I never ended up pursuing this. Other then that, the work turned out OK and I was very happy with it.

The designer was very creative and down-to-earth. He was an excellent listener and really focused on our wants and needs for the project. He also has an excellent crew who worked for him. The crew was very reliable and hard-working. We are absolutely delighted with our backyard.

Fantastic! Dave is really responsive, came right out and gave us an estimate. He was knowledgeable about pavers vs. flagstone and helped us find just the right material for us. We chose flagstone, which was actually cheaper than the pavers we thought we wanted. He gave us an estimate in July, but we couldn't do the work until May. When I called in May, he found our estimate, stood by the number and got the work done within about two weeks of our choosing the stone. He disclosed the various price differences in stone and let us pick the one we wanted. The work was done by a four person crew in about 6 hours. They were polite, worked hard and left a very clean work place. I was very impressed and we LOVE our new patio.

They did an outstanding job. The first day they did the backyard cement piece wall and backfilled it with mixed soil. They also laid the first course of Celtik blocks in the front. The second day they finished the Celtik wall and backfilled. The wall looks better than I imagined. I did not have enough cement pieces for the backyard wall, I needed another 8 ft. Mr. Zimmerman thought he had some pieces left over from another project but wasn't sure they would match but they matched perfectly. His workers were very courteous, helpful and they kept the work site very clean. I am very satisfied with their work.

Dave, the owner of Terra-Sol, returned my first call and most of the rest of them promptly. There were some extended delays in getting the work done due to illness, (his), my vacation and a hold up on another job that involved delivery of a very large amount of soil. Dave was honest about this and kept me informed about what was happening and when he expected to be able to start and complete the work. He listened attentively to what I wanted and then offered suggestions about the overall design, the type of plants, and type of rocks that would be appropriate for the new front yard. Once the work got started it was done with efficiency and attention to detail. For example, I wanted some of my spring bulbs that had already started to flower saved. They did and to my surprise, they replanted them in a very artful manner. When they were done, no one would have know that they were there. The end result was a beautiful new landscape and a very clean surrounding area, (driveway, sidewalk).
