Refinish first is a great family business. They got my whole kitchen completed in a week. They removed all the doors and drawers and took them to their shop. They sealed everything in with a zippered plastic enclosure on the day they sanded and cleaned the cabinets to be painted. They were very concerned that I would be able to use my kitchen evenings and took plastic off refrigerator and microwave so I could do this. They covered everything and were very neat and tidy. They painted my cabinets dark gray. I think we were all nervous about the color. It turned out perfect. They did an exceptional job. The great thing about this company is that you feel they actually really enjoy what they do. Lots of talent here. Ernae was amazing as she took a tiny paint brush and made sure the insides were all touched up and even. I had one funky door knob that didn't fit because the stem was too long so they sawed off the stem to fit. They put all my shelves back in the cabinets. They did not leave any garbage anywhere on any day. They even took their clean up water with them. They recycle everything which I really appreciated. My cabinets look like new. David, Ernae, Alex, and Christian take pride in what they do and it shows in their work.

They did a very good job. I would recommend them.

Called company and they said they would call me back on a day and time and never did. I contacted them again and set up time for them to come out. Received a call that day they were to busy and would call me the next day to set up time. Never called again.

None of the woodwork had been touched in 25 years and it was in really bad shape. All of it looks brand new again. They took care to cover and contain the dust from sanding and cleaned up everything when they were done. The front door looks fabulous. I have used Refinish First's services before and am happy to recommend them.

I contacted Refinish First for a quote, Claire came out to our property and gave us a quote. She was very informative and was able to answer all of my questions. We wanted to get our cabinets refinished for a party we were having in a couple weeks. Claire informed me they were booked out a few weeks with other jobs and would do their best to get our project done before our party. After reviewing the quote with my husband, we contacted Claire to move forward and they were great about fitting us in before our party! The crew was always on time and very professional. We have a very large kitchen and I was impressed with how quickly they were able to get the job done. They really pay attention to detail and also went out of their way to fix things that have been bugging me along the way (drawers that were tough to open, fixed an unfinished area under my oven that was driving me crazy) Once the job was finished, they came by just to make sure no spots were missed and made everything look shiny and new! Refinish First deserves its top-rated status. Claire was prompt and professional when she came to give me an estimate for the job. The owner's husband, Dave, and two crew arrived on time on Monday, Nov 17, for the two-day project. They placed protective brown paper to cover all surfaces such as counter tops, appliances, floors, including draping clear plastic sheeting to enclose the work area. They set to work immediately to clean, prep, sand, etc. - a lot of steps to produce a fantastic finish. Their demeanor was professional yet friendly; their work thorough. Nothing was left, including cleanup which included dusting all surfaces, removing all protective coverings; wiping all cabinets, even wiped the floor. Excellent people, expertise, excellent results. I highly recommend Refinish First.

Our "new" home is 15 years old, with high ceilings and beautiful solid Maple cabinetry. The kitchen cabinets were a mess from years of wear and tear. Water damage all the way through the finish, to exposed wood especially around and below the sink area. "Crackling" of the original finish everywhere. Loose frames, where joints were failing and cabinet doors were beginning to come apart. All that is gone - we have a new kitchen again! On day 1, Refinish First masked the counters and completely sealed off the kitchen from the rest of the house in plastic, with magic foam ceiling bars on poles (no tape needed). They cleaned the cabinets and drawers, inside and out, fronts and back sides, by hand with industrial cleaner. They then went to work sanding and scraping the damaged finish, working with finer and finer sandpaper. The worst areas were sanded to the surface. The crackled and worn areas were smoothed out with fine grit. Day 2, they tinted stain to precisely match the aged gold of the 15-year old cabinets, and applied color stain by hand. Next, four separate coats of water-based polyurethane finish were applied, allowing each coat to dry and fine-sanding before the next coat. Where needed, additional color was added to match all cabinets. The polyurethane they use is actually an industrial floor finish by Bona Mega, very hard and durable. Day 3, they completed small touch up, clamped and glued any loose joints, and filled any remaining small gaps. New soft bumpers were applied to the backs of cabinets and drawers. Door pulls were re-attached, and every cabinet re-leveled with a precise match and even gap, top to bottom. Before leaving, they cleaned everything by hand again, including the floor, insides of drawers and shelves, sink and counters. They left the kitchen sparkling clean. The transformation is simply stunning. We literally have new cabinets, for a 10th the cost of replacement and a 5th the cost of re-facing. It's not cheap, but its a bargain! Very little dust escaped into the house - family room furniture next to the kitchen was clean, we used it every night. They left behind a container each of color-matched stain and finish for any future touch-up needed in years ahead. I recommended them to our best friends, and give them 5 Angie stars for excellence.

The work turned out to be fine. They were very cooperative and listened to what we wanted and did their best to do what we asked.

That worked out well. We have referred them to others. They were very open to our ideas and they were timely. Their price was good as compared to others.

Everything looked like NEW. Not only did they exceed our expectations, but their work was impeccable and their willingness to tackle less-than-pleasant jobs was commendable! As a result of their ability to restore the woodwork in spite of extensive pet damage, we were able to lease the house for significantly more money than expected. More telling, the cupboards look better than when the house was new!

We had two questions going into this project: --Could grainy oak cabinets truly be refinished in a white color without the grain showing through? --Would the quality of work meet our (high) standards? YES! YES! We were delighted with the results, and our kitchen is now updated, bright, and beautiful. Claire and David provided excellent service, from offering input on color and details to doing high quality, meticulous work. They are friendly, efficient, and really care about their customers. They do not cut corners, and they put forth extra effort to make sure everything is perfect. We are completely delighted and would highly recommend Refinish First.

They were great. I had misunderstood the language ? I didn?t need refacing. They came right when scheduled, saw what I wanted, and explained the difference. I am hiring them to do the actual work I need, but getting the Big Deal refunded since it's not applicable to my situation.

Over the phone Claire basically discouraged me from having them give an estimate and threw out a 7,000.00 figure to paint my kitchen/dining room cabinets!! I can replace every cabinet I have for that price and get new ones.

From the first meeting with Claire at the trade show, to the actual work, everyone was so helpful. Claire came out for the bid offered suggestions, answered my questions and helped me understand the ins and outs of the refinishing job. Dave and crew (Kacie and Alex) did an excellent job in the restoration of the cabinets. It was a great deal of work as the cabinets had yellowed badly over the years. They now look new again. It completely finished the kitchen. They can perform miracles with the wood finish. Had some holes in the cabinets that Claire filled and blending in to the point where you could not tell there was any work done at all. I was worried about how to make go unnoticeable but Claire took care of it for me. Also, they are a great folks.

The job went great, they were on time went right to work. Great care in keeping ever thing clean. Took two days and when they were finished they cleaned up after themselves.

The cabinets looked really good when they were done. I will call them again on future projects.

Very professional. Always showed up on time. Consulted with us in advance to make sure we agreed with the way the work was to be done. Went beyond the contract to repair any scratches or damaged areas that might detract from the new woodwork. Very friendly and easy to work with.

Scheduling and working with this team was pleasant and easy, and they seem to really enjoy what they do.

First of all, yes I would use Refinish First again, and have recommended them to other people. I needed the old golden oak cabinets in my kitchen painted,( refacing would have cost too much). Claire came out and gave me an estimate early in March, we then scheduled a day for the work to start. I called back to reschedule for late in April. She was always prompt in returning all my phone calls and very gracious about the change in date. All my questions were answered,and most were anticipated. They have been doing this kind of work for a long time. The job cost approximately $2500. Dave and his crew were prompt and very kind and courteous. They were very careful to protect my ceiling, floor and walls. The job took about 6 days. I would give them an "A" . I would suggest to anyone who has their cabinets painted to spell out how particular they are about the final finish, how much sanding do they feel should be done, and exactly what surfaces would be painted. If they wish the cabinet sides that are hidden by the appliances to be painted they should say so. Refinish first covers most of these questions with the customer. I love my white kitchen cabinets!

They take great pride in their work, Kept dust contained. And they cleaned up fairly well when done. I would note that I still needed to thoroughly clean the house at the end of the project because no matter how careful you are dust goes everywhere.

David & Claire just finished updating our cabinets and walls last week. They took a smelly, dingy, impossible to clean, 1951 kitchen with decades of peeling paint, doors that wouldn't close or come clean, scary, cavernous, inefficient cabinets, and non-functioning, grimy drawers into a fresh, efficient, clean, fully functional space. We LOVE our kitchen now! We can't stop looking at it. It feels totally new, much more functional, like we have more space in the existing footprint, and looks amazing! They replaced all the doors and drawer fronts, installed new hardware, Euro hinges, recommended and worked with the custom drawer builder to build and install new drawers and cabinet organizer, stripped and repainted the cabinet boxes, built and installed a tall, skinny custom book case next to the fridge, painted the walls and ceiling with minor plaster repair. The work took about ten days, much less money, time, and frustration than a total tear out. And better use of resources by using what we already have in our existing footprint. Their part of the total project was about $6500, with the total project about $12,000. I highly, enthusiastically recommend Refinish First. They are personable, patient, helpful, courteous, hard-working, professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and responsive. I am thrilled with their results, and can't wait to save the money for them to do the same work in our hallway.

We were on a very short timeline as we were preparing my mom's house to sell. I called a number of cabinet refinishers from Angie's list but they were all booked weeks out. When I talked to Claire about taking the cabinet doors to their shop, she took pity on me and agreed to come out and give a bid for the whole job. She came the next day, gave a very reasonable bid and arranged to sqeeze us in, doing the job over the 4th of July weekend. She even took the time to hunt down some baseboard molding that needed to be replaced. A crew of four came including Claire and her husband Dave. They completed the job that day, leaving no dust nor mess of any kind. The cabinets look beautiful and perfectly match the uppers that did not get refinished. Clair also replaced a thermofoil cabinet door that had been damaged. She spent time ensuring the new door matched the existing ones and, again, she gave us a very good price and did her best to get it to us as quickly as possible. I would definitely recommend Refinish First!

We were very pleased. They came out straight away. We decided to hold off on doing the cabinets at this time as we had no idea what the expense of that would be. I was very impressed with their business sense, professionalism and response time. All the companies were very professional. We explained what we wanted. They brought samples and referrals. They were right on time. They called ahead of time.
