Dave did not try to fix something that did not need fixing or replacing, and gave me all the instructions I needed including the knowledge that we had a very faulty electrical outlet that needed replacing to be effective. I would not have known that without his information. I called this company because of its Tualatin location and our home in Lake Oswego. I am SO glad I did and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing garage door servicing or maintenance.

Office staff was friendly and efficient on initial phone contact, product selection and appointment scheduling. Dave did the installation, was through and efficient. He took the time to do the job properly, even though it was a challenging installation.

He wasn't very helpful and he seemed rushed to get to his next job.

They were very timely and punctual. They cleaned up after themselves and took away the old stuff. I am very pleased. I would use them again.

My garage door stopped working when the coil spring snapped. I called Best Overhead Door and they had a technician on-site first thing the next morning. David (field technician) arrived at my house on time and was professional and courteous. He quickly identified the problem, replaced parts, and tuned up & oiled the existing belts and component parts. He was done in 20 minutes and the charge (including replacement parts) was reasonable. I will definitely be using them again if we have repairs to be done.

He did a good job in letting us know what our options were. He looked it all over thoroughly and he gave a bid for work on a separate door. He was very knowledgeable about what was going on with the sporadic issue with the one door.

They were very nice and professional, it took only a few minutes to get a verbal quote and scheduled an appointment. We received an invoice the week after the repair. Nice and easy.

Our garage door opener failed over the weekend. We called Best Overhead and they came out first thing Monday morning. They replaced a broken coil which had been improperly installed when the opener had been installed about 5 years ago. They also installed an automatic door opener button on the inside of the basement door so that we can open the door from inside the house. Other providers had told us they could not work on this brand and had tried to sell us a whole new operating system. We were very pleased at the prompt service and the honesty in working with our existing system vs. trying to sell us a new replacement system.

As far as I know it's fine. I wasn't there when they did the work, but I don't have any complaints. It seemed like a good price. They did a good job. They were really good to work with.

Went well and as requested.

On Angie's list they said that they could provide free estimates. There was a house that was a rental that we were getting ready to sell. We had brand new garage doors that we had installed and they needed some repair because of some damage that had been done. They would not come out and look at the doors even though they had said free estimates and their free estimate was emailing them photos and somebody looking at the photos to determine what the cost would be and i did that. When i finally mad the arrangement to have them come out to do the repairs, the guy said he can't fix it. He ended up messing with it. it was very frustrating. The first time i called to confirm with them if they do free estimates they said they didn't and i looked back at Angie's list and it said they did take free estimates. Then they said if i want to do it that way i can take photos. They are the one's who originally installed the doors.

The door would only go up 2 inches on Monday afternoon, so I called. They were to come the morning of the 15th, but could not reach me because of a power outage. When we had power, I called again, and the technician returned my call and was here late morning. He completed the work in about an hour, tested the door's movement and reset the stops. I now have a 3 yr. warranty on service and parts.

The technician was prompt, courteous and efficient. The only criticism I have is that he left a small amount of debris, such as a few cut wires, etc., that could have been easily cleaned up. That was the reason the company's grade for professionalism was reduced, but I would definitely use them again.

They were excellent to work with. They were prompt and fast on the job. They were able to get rid of the squeak we were having. Scheduling was fine and we did not have any problems.

It turned out fine with Best Overhead Door, it was quite some time ago. They were very prompt, they took care of the service need and gave me some insight into the likely longevity of the door moving forward which was helpful. They got it back and work in order which was the key and gave me some good information for future decisions.

It was excellent. They're very knowledgeable. They did things that I didn't have to do.

Went fine. We did not have to be home. He did work on time and opener has worked fine ever since. We have an older model opener and I was aftraid he might have to replace the whole opener. Instead, he had the part and did the work--saving us some money.

It went fine, they put in a keyless entry system for me. I've used them 2-3 times now.

He went above and beyond. He was so helpful! He was a perfect gentleman. He even programmed my remote in my car. He came the same day I called.

They were very professional. It was a much more complicated job than he first thought and he just stuck with it until it was finished and made it work. I was very impressed. He knows what he's doing. He will come out, assess the situation, will adjust as necessary and he will get the job done.

I first choose this company in 2011 when building a new custom home based in part on all the great Angie's list reviews and because they did retail and new construction; I was surprised how many firms do not. (used a custom builder but I choose several subs). I never thought about the weather, nor did anyone else as I designed and built the home :( I thought it was enough to have an extra wide soffit built abut only after moving in did I realize how much driving rain would hit the doors due to the front facing direction (and perhaps because there is no home across the street (another street dead ends into my street - neighbors who have a home across don't get as much so have to wonder if this is a factor). I choose very good insulated doors that met energy star standards; just was not the right door for my particular needs as it turns out. It's not for lack of trying on BOD's part; they have bent over backwards but can only do so much to overcome the garage floor which was not poured with another downward grade (including storm strips, a special bottom door seal, having the door mfg. come out, etc.) So I hired them again to replace with upgraded doors that are better suited to the driving rain I get and does not have to be painted (tired of all the pealing around the edges which started almost immediately due to my choice of a high end paint that takes too long to cure (in hind site as mfg. does not advertise the fact). The owner Rob has been very patient, professional, as is his entire staff, not to mention experienced. When it came time to trade out (always a last resort), Rob has been very fair and agreed to re-sell the old doors as I did not have any luck on CL this time :)

A perfect 10 for a repair experience. I called on 12/4 in the afternoon and they answered promptly and said that they would have somebody there the next day to fix the garage door and that the person would call between 7:30-8:30 to set an exact time. Dave called at 7:45AM and gave me two times and I picked immediate. He was there at 8:30AM like he said he would be. he knew exactly what was wrong within 2 minutes. He gave me the option of repair or replacement. It was 18 years old so we agreed on a replacement. He noticed the rollers were cheapo and that the cables were fraying so we agreed to do it all. He gave me a verbal price and he did the job in less than 2 hours. The bill was exactly what he said it would be and he gave me the Angie's list discount. He explained how to use all the items and then he left. All in less than 2 hours. Great experience, again, this was a 10 on the repair experience scale!

I was initially concerned over the noise of the garage doors opening which both Brian & Dave responded to at no charge. After the new "rollers" were installed there was a gap between the weather-stripping. I thought the wrong size roller was used and left a message for "Rob" (the owner of company) to please call me. First thing Monday AM (12/02/2013) Rob called and we discussed the issue. He sent Brian out and some adjustments were done resulting in a secure fit between the door and weather-stripping. In summary; I value customer service and the willingness of a company to help a customer after the sale. Best Overhead Door has clearly demonstrated this trait. The response from Rob and his team cannot be understated. If you have a concern, they will make it right. After all, who could ask for more. I highly recommend Best Overhead Door for your garage door needs. UPDATE 07/23/14 A few weeks after I wrote my glowing review above, thinking all was finally corrected, I opened the door to witness the bottom piece of weather stripping catch on the side portion of weather stripping damaging both pieces. This happened on the second door as well. The adjustment to the door was now too tight. Quite frustrating as this was the middle of winter so I waited till summer to contact BOD. I received a response from the Office Manager about my concern. The owner of the company will be out next week to inspect the problem. At this point I am very disappointed. After several attempts, I have come to the conclusion that they are incapable of solving this problem. I am very disappointed as my old openers worked better, were quieter, and sealed properly with no ill affects. Update 08/18/14 after a poor installation of weather-stripping around the garage doors, Rob the owner came out personally and installed new material and did an excellent job. I appreciate his effort to resolve this situation.
