came quickly for an estimate. Explained the products + what would be a good choice. The job took place over about a month on 3 separate days. He always called to makes sure the schedule worked. The products + the wood decks look great. There were a few boards that needed another coat + the work was done to my satisfaction.

I called for an estimate to have my roof cleaned. This company contacted me and came out right away. They gave a great estimate which I was very happy with the estimate. I have decided to get a new roof instead of having it cleaned but I defiantly would have hired NW Surface Cleaners if I was not getting a new roof.

Ed came out promptly and gave us an estimate for staining our decks, front and back. He spoke repeatedly about using a Sikkens product, which he said was the highest quality available, cost $50 per gallon, and gave us a Sikkens brochure. The quote seemed a bit high to us, but we went ahead and agreed to the price, and chose a color off the color board he presented. We told him we would be gone the following week; he said he would try to get out and wash the deck that week, weather permitting. When we returned home, we found the deck had already been stained (I had expected to be present during the staining), and that he had used a different product than the Sikkens he had discussed (Cabot). While the deck looked nice, I was concerned about his changing the product without discussing it with us, and so I called Ed. He got very defensive, and first claimed that he had told me he used both products (he didn't), then told me that we had picked a Cabot color of stain (we didn't know that, of course, we just chose one of the colors off the sample color board he gave us). Ed then said, after telling us that the color we had selected, "Heartwood," was his favorite and very popular, that he didn't know it was a Cabot product, not Sikkens. He wanted to come by and pick up a check, without replacing the deck furniture which was now outside in the yard. I had him replace the furniture, and paid him in full. I ended up feeling, rightly or wrongly, that I had been deceived about the project, and had overpaid. My advice to others: get a competitive bid, and get Ed to commit to more details on his estimate, like specifically what product will be used and when it will be applied.

I Thought the bill was reasonable. I have decks that require a lot of maintenance and the staining didn’t look ever and they willingly know out to refinish so I was completely satisfied in the end. The men doing the work were friendly & professional I would highly recommend this company.

The previous owners had painted the back deck and front porch, but never maintained it. The paint was peeling off in places and moisture had been trapped underneath and the wood had started to rot. While front porch and steps aren't large, the back deck is 15' x 13' with railings and stairs and would have been far too expensive to rebuild. NW Surface cleaners came out and pressure washed both front and back to knock of much of the peeling paint, then came back and spent an entire day and part of a 2nd day sanding down to bare wood before coming back on a separate day to apply the stain. My guess is they put in around 60 man hours into refinishing both areas. They were very easy to work with, provided excellent communication, and even stopped by around 8:00 in the evening to provide a different color stain sample when I had a change of heart. The end result is the deck and porch look amazing. We showed it off to friends and neighbors who acknowledged the quality of work. They weren't the cheapest quote we got, but none of the others were going to sand down to bare wood, and that was the real difference maker in the overall look. No hesitation recommending them to others.

I recently used NW Surface Cleaner to sand and stain my deck, and they are as good as it gets! I called a number of companies before deciding to work with NW Surface Cleaner, and chose them based on their experience and responsiveness. Ed is the owner, and he came out for a site visit to properly bid the job -- they were able to fit me into their schedule the following week. Ed, his son Kevin, and Fernando all showed up on time - they were very friendly, and did an excellent job. If you are looking for high quality, great service, and a competitive price, this family-run business is your best bet. I will definitely work with them again!

I have a large deck with lots of stairs and posts. Ed and his team did a tremendously thorough job and the deck is now so beautiful!! I appreciate all the extra effort that they put into the project. They arrived on time, if not early, and were very friendly and professional. They were also fast and clean and were patient and responsive with my requests. I was very pleased with the entire process and I'm happy with the results. Excellent customer service!

We had the company come in 2011 and clean moss off our composite roof using an Angie's List coupon for $350. The work was done on time, with all moss cleaned off and the ground area cleaned. NW Surface Cleaners suggested we have the cleaning done every three years. We also got reassurance that our roof was in good condition. The moss didn't build up to a level that needed cleaning for four years. We called the same company and again got timely and very professional, friendly service. The cost was a bit more than expected -- $750 -- but we were comparing it to the very good coupon deal we had last time. In the long run, I believe the cost is appropriate, even if it isn't a fun way to spend money. Again, we got an evaluation on the condition of the roof, which is reassuring. The area on the ground was cleaned up extremely well. We will be using this company next time we need the moss cleaned off.

This was an Angie's List Big Deal. So I paid $275 for the deal, then was charged an extra $185 for the moss removal and pitch of roof. They were on time, very personable and got the job done. I did not have to have my roof treated again until 2014.
