Description of Work: Ed is the owner and his son Kevin works for him with two other helpers. We had them do our deck renovation. He has great hard working people working for him. Mark did a great job of stripping the paint and preparing the deck for painting. Ed does not have a good attitude as a business man. He was not interested in seeing if the job had been completed with high quality and to my satisfaction. His main interest was to get paid ASAP. Our contract was to pay 50% after prep work was completed. Ed came during the day and insisted on getting paid 50%, which I did pay, even when the prep work had not been completed yet. On the last day of the job, his workers told me that they will come back the next day after the paint has dried, to do any touch ups. An hour later Ed stopped by and insisted that the job had been completed and wanted to get paid the balance. I told him that I will pay him the balance when all touch up work had been completed. Next day, without completing the touch up work, Ed sent Kevin to collect the balance. Kevin said that Ed just asked him to collect the money and did not make any mention of touch ups. Kevin, however did do the touch ups as needed before I made the payment. In the end the job was completed satisfactorily, but it was not a good experience.

Description of Work: The work was done well, but the gentleman didn't honor the terms which meant I ended up paying full price for the service.

Description of Work: Have a 13 year old elevated (and I mean elevated) decks that needed to be brought back from the wear and carnage of the Pacific NW weather. The deck was washed, cleaned and sanded to bare cedar. Oil based sealant and slight stain was applied. I have done this in the past, it would have taken me weeks of work and I could not get anywhere close to the quality that NW surface was able to achieve. Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for roof cleaning for our cedar shake roof. Appreciated the owners advice and information provided about roof maintenance. Did a good job and added in a few shingle repairs (at reasonable cost).

Description of Work: Ed came and quoted immediately after my call. He cleaned our roof, replaced some shingles and treated with a 3% zinc solution that is suppose to preserve the wood shake for 4 years! Our gutters were also cleaned!

Description of Work: We have been getting bids for roof cleaning. We were given a bid by NW Surface Cleaner, Inc - Tigard, Oregon, it was for a 3 year treatment, no moss. Remove moss with hand tool, rinse roof and clean gutters.We were given a price of $650.00. We set up an appointment, for 9/13/11. They called and said their equipment was broken, could they come tomorrow. We said, fine. They SHOW UP this AM and said they don't remember ever giving us a bid (which we have in our hand). They then said they cannot possibly do the work for the price they had given us. We asked them (actually - him) to leave.

Description of Work: Replaced shingles , sprayed preservative on roof , colored the new shingles to match older ones. Cleaned gutters and cleaned up after their work.professional, prompt. After paid and left my wife called ...she thought the color of new shingles should be darker. They came back and applied a darker color no charge. Would recommend.
