They came in and they did their job. My criticism was that there was no information given by the company at all as to maintenance of the barrels and the proper usage of the barrels. So all they were doing is selling the barrel where I had a larger vision that this company, that was what they were doing, was going to be of some assistance to the home owners, "Here is your barrel. This is how you maintain it" and that didn't happen. So that was disappointing for me. So I would say they were okay. It cost me more than the deal amount of $175 only because I purchased a second barrel when the guy was here. It cost me $350. They cut off the downspouts which was another thing that I wasn't expecting them to cut my downspouts. They cut it down and they put on their little downspouts higher up. That means if I ever want to eliminate that replace that whole downspouts. I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting that they would have something that was a little bit more realistic for the home owner than just cut the downspouts.

It was fine. I were to do it again, I would probably want something more thorough. It's to fix the problem that were currently there, I think that I would probably like that I would do it again to have a general reground. This was just 4 hours, we probably would need about 8 but the guy was fine and the price was fine.

I had previously talked to Lee on the phone about checking the roof for 'soft spots' or anything else that could be a problem. He assured me that was part of the deal I had paid for. In addition when I had talked to him I asked what it would cost to remove some moss that had built up over the years. He said it would be an additional $50. I agreed to that. When Lee arrived around noon on the appointed day, he looked at the front of the roof and not seeing any moss was somewhat startled. I took him around to the back of the house and he told me there was not enough to charge me $50 that he would be willing to do it for $30 -- great deal -- that's why the total cost was $279 instead of the coupon price of $249. Here's my main gripe about the whole thing. The ONLY RESULTS PROVIDED IN A CLOSING STATEMENT was a statement for the extra $30 charge for scraping the moss. I don't have anything stating what condition my roof is in, any soft spots, problems areas, flashing areas that require attention -- nothing! I'm really disappointed. But now I realize why there was only one grade shown on the coupon while the others were greyed out -- very tricky -- not very honest.

Repaired a few areas of sheetrock. Did great job. I bought a three hour handyman service and they finished up early - I should have had a list of other things for them to do.

I think they're fine. I don't have much comment about it.

There were two no-shows, at least 6 unreturned phone calls over the course of ~a week, and multiple reschedules at the behest of HomeMasters. After some threatening and yelling and a choice cuss word or two, they made and kept an appointment. The two men who showed up - on time - were very polite and professional, but I have to admit, the quality of their work was no better than what I could have done by myself. I was honestly expecting a high quality caulk installation like I see in many new homes and retrofits - even application, clean lines, etc. Instead I got the masking tape and wet finger smoothed caulk I have done so many times myself. The other gripe was when I initially scheduled the appointment, I spoke with the scheduler about my desire for a specific quality and color of caulk and she encouraged me to just buy it to have when they arrived, which I did. But when they arrived, they told me they really recommended the caulk they had with them (and would be happy to sell me - for $22). Then to top it off, they used white caulking on my off-white backsplash (at least until I noticed and asked them to start using something that matched). They did work with my wife to select the color, but she was looking at what appeared to be a color sample on the label and didn't notice the word "white" further down. As "professionals", I expect them to point out she was selecting white and that the color spot on the caulking *they were pushing* was an not accurate representation. All in all, I was not impressed. ------ UPDATE January 2014 ------- The caulking they applied is splitting in multiple places. They sold me two different colors of caulk and both of them are doing the same thing. In my 20+ years of personal caulking, I have never seen this happen. Since this is a kitchen backsplash and the main reason to caulk is to keep moisture from getting in the wall, you can imagine this is a complete fail. I took some pictures and was hoping to upload them here but I cannot see how to do that. Bottom line - the service they provided is worse than worthless because now I need to clean up their lousy caulking work and still have to get a proper caulking job done.

I was not impressed with them actually. They came out and cleaned the gutters and the gutters were fine. They tried to push me into getting new gutters. They lured me in with the big deal and then it was the big sell. They told me that my gutters were rusty and needed to replace them with all new gutters. There were no extra charges. I would not use them again.

They were great and I would use them again. They were quick and they were competent. I would trust them for this project and other projects.

Arrived when expected; roof & gutters very clean; no debris left around on the site

You could eat dinner on my roof surface!! It had not been cleaned for many years and was extremely dirty and it now looks like a new roof! The crew arrived a little later than I thought they would but I think the timing was an assumption on my part and not really a late arrival. The two man crew could not have been more pleasant or worked harder. The senior person on the crew was a very experienced roofer and so I felt confidant that they knew how to walk on and treat a tiled roof. Their primary job with Homemasters was not cleaning, it was repair, and so I was a little nervous about how they would do. I called into the company to register my anxiety and was assured that they would stand by the quality of the work to be performed. I find this company to be very conscientious and willing to address any concerns immediately. The crew did a great job and we will use these services again.

Homemasters responded to my request for an estimate very quickly and were able to do the job within a few days. The workmanship was outstanding and the quality of product is excellent. Their pricing is more than competitive, it is the best in the area! Homemasters is definitely a company that I will always use and recommend to my friends and neighbors.

First, the technician went to my neighbor's house and started to preform his work there, which was obviously the wrong house. Luckily I had to go to another neighbor's house to borrow something and I noticed him at the wrong address so I directed him to my house to perform his work. They did not blow off the entire roof as expected. The algae control was not applied to the entire roof surface. It was my understanding that for $131.00 the entire roof would be sprayed, but only a few areas were treated where moss may start to grow. The technician spent all of about 10 minutes preforming this work. 3. The gutters were not hand cleaned. The only thing that was done was the gutters were blown out with a leaf blower and the debris from the gutters was left on the walkways and driveway. I had to call their office and have him return and clean it up, which was a joke because all he did was take his leaf blower and blow it into the flower beds for me to pick up. The services preformed were done very unprofessionally, and I was very dissatisfied with the work.

They did what they said that they would do

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were fine. They came and did the work when I wasn't here so I didn't see it being done but they fixed my problem so I thought that was good. I paid more than the Big Deal because I had more gutters than what they allowed for. I would like to have had service provided for the amount that I paid and I would like to have been home when they did the work. I have nothing to compare their price with but I was a little ticked off that I had to pay more because my gutter was more than what they covered. It seems like it took them a while to call me back and they said they were busy. They were professional. I'll use them again if I had a gutter that's not doing what it's supposed to do.

I really didn’t think that they did that good of job. I feel like it didn’t look much better than what I could have done myself. They tried to do clean up, but I had to redo the entire cleanup on the kitchen counters and the bathroom shower. The bathroom floor was wet because they had taken off the shower door. I also found a cigarette butt in my drive way. The next time I used the shower one of the doors literally shattered in my hand. I wasn’t hurt it was just a startling experience. It all went into the bathtub and I was fine. I don’t know if it was there fault, but I would not use them again. Everyone else that I have had has been very professional, clean, and made sure all my questions were answered. It felt like they were in a hurry to just get the job done.

Scheduling was a breeze. I was not at home when the work took place. I arrived home to find a note stating that the work had been completed as previously agreed. Attached to the note was a recommendation that the gutters on my home were in need of "repair or replacement." The recommendation was on a check box form. As my house is only 3 years old I was quite concerned. When I called seeking further information about what was wrong with the gutters the office had already closed for the day. I reached someone the following day who stated that the recommendation was that my gutters be upgraded to a larger size. There was nothing in need of repair. Later that week I received a letter in the mail urging me to call the office for a price quote on replacing the gutters. I had another contractor take a look at the gutters. The second contractor - who himself could have made lots of money replacing the gutters - is of the opinion that larger gutters would be of no benefit whatsoever to my home. I'm not a fan of the hard upsell under any circumstances, but something about the way Homemasters handled this made it seem underhanded as well as pushy. The work they did for me was fine as far as I have been able to see but I will not be recommend them to anyone, and I have already contracted with another company for my next gutter cleaning service.

He did a fine job. I thought it was kind of strange that he wouldn't do the entire duplex, since together we are about the same as a house (2400 sq feet with both sides of the duplex). But he would've charged double and my neighbor wasn't going for it. So he did my half for $99, which is still a good deal, in my opinion.

The experience with Homemasters was good. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. They are on time, they do the work as they say and they are reliable.

They were very nice and super competent and worked fast. They showed up 1/2 hour late and left 1/2 hour early was the only negative.

They were fantastic. They've been to my house several times and they just come out and do what they say they're going to do. They try to up sell you, but I don't bite. They are qualified people who do good work. They wanted me to buy whole new gutters. When they first came out they sized up what I had and what I needed. They then said they'd call and be back on a certain day. They showed up at the right time and they cleaned the gutters, but they came back with an estimate on what it would take to replace the gutters. Everything went fantastically when he was here.

I saw the coupon on Angie's list for Homemasters and decided to ask for a quote on replacing the roof before I bought the coupon. The appointment was set for after my work day, but Greg called and asked if he could come early, since I was working from home, I said sure. Greg was prompt and cordial. He looked at the house, examined an intermittent leak in attic. He measured the roof and gave me a ton of brochures on the products. He announced it would be $10,000 for the roof. I was surprised since the coupon was for 6490 for the first 3000 sf and 2.25 for each square foot after that. For my 3800 sf roof it would come to about 8500. I asked if I would be getting an itemized estimate, and he said sure, he would write one up. He suggested new gutter covers, and a different product for the zero grade area on the roof. The gutter covers would be an extra $800. When he gave me the estimate it had a series of check marks to denote what was included, and the $10,000 bid, plus $800 for optional gutter covers. He was pretty pushy about my making a decision, asking if I could just say "yes" right there. I told him I would be deciding soon. The first estimate from another company was only slightly lower than Home Masters, but it was itemized so I knew for what I would be paying. I was also surprised that with a coupon and the "great price" Greg kept mentioning that it wasn't lower than the first estimate. I checked with friends about their experiences with getting estimates. Everyone I spoke to received an itemized bid. Greg called me first thing Monday morning to see if I had made a decision and I hadn't heard back from most of the people about their experiences. I told him I hadn't made a decision yet. I decided to ask for the itemized bid again. I wanted to understand where the price was coming from. The zero grade piece was about $500 but that still left $1241 unaccounted for in the bid with the coupon. I texted Greg and asked about the price difference and about getting the breakdown of materials, labor, and haul away. He responded that because my home didn't have a driveway, they would charge more for haul away, and that the roof vents were not included. I asked if he was going mail or email the breakdown. At this point he called me. He wasn't cordial. He was obviously annoyed with me. He kept telling me what a great price it was, asking about the other quotes. I said that it might very well be a great price, but I was more comfortable understanding what I was being charged for labor and materials and I wanted it in writing. Eventually he was speaking in a raised disrespectful tone, informing me that at that price I didn't need itemized prices. I said I didn't feel comfortable with the way he was speaking to me, he barely slowed down. Frankly, it might have been a great price, they may do good work, but anyone who feels comfortable treating me with that amount of disrespect when I am asking for something as simple as an itemized estimate isn't getting my business. I should also add that I am a single woman who maintains my own home, going up on the roof to clean the gutters and sweep leaves off the roof. I don't need to be patronized, or yelled at. I wonder if Greg would have treated a man that way? UPDATE: Since I posted this review I had another company come out and give me an estimate. The estimate was not only lower, itemized and there was no high pressure, but the size of the roof was different. HomeMasters measured my roof as 500 square feet larger than the company that I will be using. I verified with the estimater and he double and triple checked his numbers. No idea how Home Masters managed to bump the size up 500 feet, but that definitely would affect price and their profit margin.

The workers were on time and a supervisor was here most of the time they were working. I asked that they stay away from the skylights in my kitchen as a previous time, with another company, they had "power washed" around those skylights and water came through onto an antique desk, ruining it and the floor was soaked. The worker told me that "some" water seepage always comes through; I wanted them to keep the washer away from there, completely. Could have been done by hand and I'd have paid extra for that. When they were through, I walked around and looked, with the supervisor present, and noticed the water seepage on the ceiling around the skylights and on the floor. Then, I went outside and some of the paint on the underside of the gutters was gone and I mentioned that to the supervisor and he didn't say a thing. I will be looking for someone else to do the work in the future. I recommended them to the neighbors whose experience with this company was worse by far than mine; but, that's their report to make and not mine.

This was the first time I've used a professional gutter cleaning service: we usually do this ourselves, but the VIP package on Angie's List seemed like a good deal. Homemasters scheduled the work promptly and they arrived when they said they would. I wasn't home during the actual work, but when I arrived home that evening I saw the moss treatment on the roof and a sign in my yard indicating that they had completed the job. Before scheduling the work, I asked if they could also clean my detatched garage, which they did for an additional $25. They recommended replacing the gutters, which we plan to do sometime in the next couple of years. Overall, the roof stayed free of moss for quite a while. Good experience.

Knowledge of the job to be done gave me confidence to proceed and that confidence was justified by the work performed. They were on time, efficient, polite and cleaned up beautifully. We are using them for a more in depth power wash of the roof, needed because it had not been done in many years.

I think it went pretty well. After placing my initial call to get a quote, Dick came out within a couple of days to quote the job. After sending in the signed proposals the morning of 5/6 and after not hearing from anyone, I called the office about scheduling the work. I called the morning of 5/7 and was told they would get the work order typed up that day and would call me back to schedule either later that day or the next morning. I didn't hear back until 5/9 and the work was scheduled to be done on 5/30. I wasn't in a huge hurry to have the work done so the wait time was not a problem for me. I wasn't home while the work was done but I came home to a sparkling clean house. Despite the somewhat bumpy beginning, I'm pleased with the work that was done.
