I did a search for U-Haul near me so I could rent a truck to pick up some equipment from a company a few towns away. Google listed a U-Haul location just down the street from me. When I called them, the phone number was picked up by DG Auto in Sherwood (about 15 minutes away). I asked if they rented trucks, they said yes, and then immediately asked for my credit card number. Because I had searched around a little bit, I didn't think the local U-Haul was still open, so I asked if they were in Lake Oswego, and the guy said they were in Sherwood. I decided to go with them because I could go a different route and it would still work out. I made a reservation for the next day, saying I'd be there around 12:15pm or so. I got there at about 12:30 and they were closed -- no sign on the door or anything. There were 2 other groups of people waiting. They said that they called and the guy would be back soon. I called and the guy said that he'd be back in 10 minutes. When I mentioned that I had a reservation, he said that he had waited 20 minutes for me before leaving to go get a trailer somewhere else. When he got in, when he found my reservation, it was for 2 days later. (So how could he have been waiting for me for 20 minutes when he was expecting me on Friday, not Wednesday?) The whole time there I felt like he was berating me for not being there before 12 Noon, and for coming 2 days earlier. My experience on the phone and in person was pretty horrible. I rented the truck, took care of my business and returned it. I'm never going to do business with that particular U-Haul place ever again. When I went back to the U-Haul website to get information for Angie's list, I saw that they had 78 "reviews" with an average of 5/5 stars. When I looked at the reviews, almost all of the 5/5 star reviews had no comments or one-liners like "Dave, your the best!". All of the reviews with any "meat" had 1/5 stars. Draw your own conclusions. How can this guy stay in business? Yikes!
Description of Work: I rented a U-haul truck to move some equipment. The truck was fine, but the service was horrible.
