Stone, Water, Tree was outstanding from start to finish. The owner, Michael, spent a significant amount of time talking with my husband and I about our goals and ideas during his initial visit. He made great suggestions and helped us fine tune our vision. The bid was submitted shortly thereafter and was competitive with the other bid we received. Michael and his crew arrived promptly and worked extremely hard through both sunshine and rainstorms for more than a week on our project. They did an excellent job of cleaning up at the end of each day. I appreciated both the professionalism and the friendliness of everyone involved. Michael was in frequent contact through out the project and made sure we always understood what to expect next. We love our beautiful new front yard and have received many compliments on it!
Description of Work: Stone, Water, Tree removed sod, shaped the area, added topsoil, and barkdust. They planted over 100 flowers, shrubs, ferns, trees and bulbs. A gravel path with flagstones, 2 dry wells, and a river rock drainage channel were also constructed. Everything was done with care and expertise.

Michael presented very creative ideas, gave prompt service, and was willing to work in bad weather.
Description of Work: Stone, Water, Tree replaced a damaged brick walkway in the front yard with a lovely stone path winding around a large tree, moved some boulders, mulched, and planted Irish moss as ground cover, ferns, coral bells and hellebore. All plants survived the snow storm unscathed and look beautiful. Michael also pruned 5 trees. Many compliments. ..

Stone, Water, Tree was great to work with. We recently bought a house where the landscaping had been neglected for some time. SWT breathed new life to the yard simply by pruning and mulching. Here's what stood out: -prompt response to phone calls and emails -impressive knowledge of plants and trees -environmentally friendly yet effective strategies for invasive plants -high quality materials -friendly and courteous staff

Michael and his crew were super easy to work with, very professional, and respectful of my space. Michael really listened to what I wanted (and didn't want) and creatively integrated the old red bricks that I had scavenged with the stone that lines the path. I am very happy with the outcome. Before hiring Stone, Water, Tree I had gotten bids from 4 other landscape companies and was not happy with any of their proposed designs and cost and was feeling rather discouraged by their lack of creative design. I would highly recommend Stone, Water, Tree.
Description of Work: Stone, Water, Tree leveled the ground in my front yard/garden and laid a crushed granite path lined with brick and stone on each side.

Michael was very good at taking the time to understand what our goals were with the landscaping, and he and his team did a phenomenal job. I was impressed at the time they took to do it right. They were always on time and took the effort to clean up every day after they were finished. This in itself is impressive if you have heard any horror stories about contractors. Michael has an expert team who know landscaping. They took the time to remove all the existing plants we had, put them in temporary pots, and move them. Michael reviewed out plant list and checked in often to make sure that they were delivering what we wanted. There were constant check-ins to make sure everything was going as planned and if there were any issues. We had boulders and a bird bath added to our plan, and the wonderful trademark Stone, Water, Tree path with stepping stones, crushed gravel and a metal edge. Michael recommended a subcontractor and quot;Rainmanand quot; to install the irrigation system and Michael directed their work. They did an excellent job - though to be honest their bid seemed to be at the 'high-end' of what we expected. It was impressive that Stone, Water, Tree, thought about the future and added items like pass-though pipes under the pathways so we would be able to add lighting at a later date. We are so pleased with the results. It was more expensive than we had originally planned, but we always smile when we come home because we love our new front yard. We have no hesitation in recommending Stone, Water, Tree. Michael and everyone on his team treat your property as if it was their own.
Description of Work: We wanted a beautiful and unique front yard to showcase our home. We obtained a design from the Portland nursery by Terrie Burdette, and Stone, Water, Tree was one of the landscape contractors recommended by Terrie. We met with Michael with the intention of interviewing other contractors as well, but we were so impressed by our meeting with Micheal that we went with Stone, Water, Tree without interviewing other contractors. We needed our existing front yard to be removed - as it had the typical builder landscaping with no soil prep. We wanted to create a front yard that would add some privacy because Oregon City rezoned the property across the street so we would soon have multiple high-density homes facing us that we wanted to block from view. We also needed someone who could take the design we obtained, make it reality, and adapt it to the conditions that existed. In addition, we wanted berms added, boulders and stepping stones added, and an irrigation system.

This project incorporated columnar and river rock as well as large flat stones. The bed for the patio was dug deep, landscaping cloth and various materials were layered to maintain drainage and prevent weeds from growing up among the stones. The weather was hideous while they were working on this, yet they never complained and managed to be scrupulously neat whenever they had to come into the house. A year later the patio is weed-free and drains thoroughly. It is a beautiful project.
Description of Work: Michael and his crew built a large patio and did some landscaping.
