My wife and I needed to replace our laminate countertops in order to prep our place for renting it out. We went to QHBS on the recommendation of a realtor who has used them before for countertop purchase and installation. We took our rough measurements of the counters in to the store and got an initial quote around $2000. We had another company come for an in home consultation, but they quoted the work at over $3000. I took the diagram the in-home guy drew back to QHBS (with name and quote blacked out). The purchasing process was definitely a negotiation. I had difficulty understanding the woman I was working with (she speaks with an accent), which compounded the process. After looking at the new diagram, she quoted me at around $2400, but I told her that I had only intended to spend $2000, and she took that offer. I thought that this included the demoing and removal of the current countertops, but it was just for the granite and installation. My final quote was ~$2350. We were scheduled about 2 weeks out for the install, and in that time I researched how to remove countertops and determined that I could do it myself. I called two days before the scheduled installation and asked for the demoing and removal to be removed from the my bill to bring it back down to $2000. She insisted that part of the discount she initially offered me included the demo price, so she only want to cut $300 off the bill instead of the full $350. This was not the order of events, but after going back and forth for 5-10 minutes, I just gave in. Later that day, she called me back saying that she had an opening the following day (Monday) at 9:00am instead of the originally scheduled time (Tuesday at 9:00am). I took the new time. The next day, 9:00 came and went. Same with 10:00. I got a call shortly thereafter from the woman who sold me the granite, saying that the crew had been delayed, apologizing, and promising they'd be here around 11:00. 11:00 came and went. I went through this process once more with her, and once with the head of the crew that was coming to do the work. at 2:15, the crew finally shows up, over 5 hours late (and almost 2 hours after the head of the crew called to say they'd be right over). They say that they got the call about the schedule change that morning and were already on a scheduled job. I'm inclined to believe them. The crew was very professional and friendly. They were apologetic and asked if I'd rather they stay late and finish the job tonight or come back tomorrow. They were projecting to wrap up around 8:00pm. I asked them to stay and offered to buy them their dinner for their troubles. Unfortunately, the job itself ran much longer. I know one part of it was partially my fault (the backsplashes were two different heights, so they had to cut one onsite.) It's hard to say if that covered the whole gap, but they ended up staying until a little after 1:00am. The final product looks great and the crew was easy to work with. The price difference was definitely worth the unfortunate extra hassle, though it could have been avoided by better scheduling on the part of QHBS. I would use them for a project like this again, but negotiate a little harder and not take any last minute schedule changes.

DO NOT BUY STUFF FROM HER-She has no warrany and you will have to mail your stuff to China (she will give you the address) for any damaged goods.
Description of Work: Alice is the owner of this place and is very busy—I was told that you could get cabinets and granite at her place at a good price—I placed an order for my kitchen and bath cabinets and was ready to place granite orders as well—she had to order these from China and was pushing us to get installation done through her. She insisted on cash only transactions wit almost all her clients. When the cabinets arrived several months behind schedule they were looking great until I got them home. Every one of them was crooked and mismatched and my contractor struggled to put them together. He had to make multiple adjustments and still they look awful-bent and not aligned with significant gaps between doors. We also ordered handles for these doors which she did not give enough and when we went back for the rest charged us 3 times the previous cost. She also increased the prices of the granite which we had planned to order. Granite was 2cm – I am glad I did not get it. Most of the people are not using 2cm granite any more. This is a very sneaky lady who tries to get you with an order and you will regret it later. She talks to at least 5 people at the same time and make you wait forever once she has your money. When I complained to her about the crocked cabinet door she offered me address in China where I can send my door and complain to then in Mandarin! When we were there last time – she yelled at us!!! I never want to open her door again! I am sure she does not pay any taxes either with the bulk of her transactions being cash only. The materials are below par and not worth the headache.
