Peter and his full team were incredible to work with on this remodel. From the first time we met Peter and Crystal at the home show in Portland, followed by extensive research on Angie's List, we were sold on them to do the project. First step was the initial consultation at our home with extensive measurements, lots of questions to determine our needs, establish our must-haves in the project, and get a sense of the style of our home and overall usage of the space. Next a trip to PNC showroom to review materials, look at the design that Peter and Crystal created, and review costs of the remodel. Yes, it is expensive, but the finished project is phenomenal. After agreeing to the project, a date is set to commence work and it is followed to the day. (Peter asked to come in one Saturday to stay on schedule.) As other's have mentioned in previous reviews, PNC shines once they get to your front door. Everything is thought of - notifying and placating the neighbors with a small gift, work-site porta-potty, protecting floors, wall and doors, code of conduct for subs, and leaving the job-site spotless every day. The schedule is maintained and progress reports are issued via texts, photos, and e-mails daily. Communication is incredible - you will always know what is going on with the project. Peter seems to be around all the time - despite overseeing other jobs in the metro area. The subs flow in and out without a hitch - inspections happen when they are supposed to - and never slow down work. (How does Peter do that?). Finish tile work is outstanding - craftsmanship on the cabinets is superb - the granite slab turned out perfect (thank you Crowley's). We can not thank Peter & Crystal - and the entire PNC family - enough for their work on our home. We are enjoying it every day with no regrets. One last thing - when Peter encourages you to go with the heated floors for your new bathroom, the only response is ABSOLUTELY !
Description of Work: Full master bath remodel on our 20+ year old home. Included gutting the bath, installing heated tile floor, tiling tub deck and shower, building a half wall in shower, re-locating and updating all lighting, new exhaust fan, custom maple cabinets with granite top, under-mount sinks, all new faucets, tub & shower controls, shower glass, toilet & tub. Electrical work to meet code & re-locate lights & plugs. Drywall work as needed - and painting the entire space.

Came on time. Spent longer than i would have expected - this not being a bad thing - but saying he was very thorough. Had me check his work before he left to make sure I was satisfied. Looked like new furniture when he left.
Description of Work: Used promotional coupon. Gentleman did a great job, especially considering he was working in an unheated space and it was cold outside.

We cannot recommend Pacific Northwest Cabinetry more highly. From the start, when they came out to measure our space, take pictures and meet with us they were respectful, professional, listened to our concerns, and extremely organized and talented. Crystal and Nicole were designers on our project. They were amazing, so talented and knowledgeable. They both thought of things that we never would have. Not only is our new kitchen beautiful, but it is also extremely functional. Our cabinets are Wellborn, made in the USA. Each and every one of the subs that were chosen were professional and their work was top quality. On day one of the remodel, the demolition phase, Peter came out and taped rules for the subs as well as the 7 week schedule on the wall. Our project was not only completed on time but also under budget. We had a major remodel done. Our kitchen was torn out down to the studs along with the family room. We were amazed at how well coordinated our project was from carpenters, electricians, plumbers, county inspectors, wood floor contractor, tile contractor. As soon as one was finished the next one came right in. Josh and Todd were the carpenters on our project. Not only are they genuinely nice guys, but they are both extremely professional and respectful of us. Our words cannot do the quality of their work justice. They are both so incredibly talented and totally dedicated to making sure the final product was the best it could be. We have never seen better work. We actually threw a few curve balls at them during the process, adding on a fireplace refacing, 1/2 bath remodel and some painting. They worked in the changes for us with no delay at all. We spent most of the 7 weeks in Bend. Peter Schraner, the owner, texted us photos at least daily as well as an e-mail nightly recapping what had been done during the day. A remodel of this scope can quickly turn into a nightmare, but ours was actually a fun, pleasant experience. We are so lucky to have chosen them to remodel our space.
Description of Work: Full Kitchen design & remodel from the studs, half bath design & remodel, family room design & remodel, install hardwood floors in family room (lacing them into the kitchen floor), 2 fireplaces refaced, lighting update and coordinated AV install.

For $100 they came out and measured the kitchen. The other two contractors also did the same thing for free but Pacific Northwest Cabinets was the only one to rethink the kitchen flow and come up with some ideas, many of which were good. The estimate being 20% more than both the others made us go a different direction. All have A ratings here. We will see how we did late.
Description of Work: We had three contractors bid on a kitchen remodel with new Cherry cabinets, tile floor and granite counters. I would supply the appliances. The other two both came in $50-$52 thousand with custom cabinets. Pacific Northwest Cabinets came in at $60 thousand using semi custom cabinets. We liked the design we saw though we expected two options but the one is fine and we will use it as a guide for our remodel. The semi custom layout left some small left over spaces that we did not care for. The meetings were professional and replies timely. However the other two estimates seem to have solid allowances for material and even if we end up with a 10% overrun we will be money ahead.

After being told by countless other companies that we would need to spend 40-60k to get "semi-custom" (ie, pick one of these cookie cutter configurations in this catalog, no you can't have different wood or legs on your cabinets), it was a delight to find crystal and her team of craftsmen. They seemed to genuinely enjoy helping us create our eclectic/ eccentric kitchen with mixed woods and Queen Anne style legs, and working insulated California Cooler. the carpenter, was involved from the beginning, making suggestions and noticing possible problems before they happened. Have you ever had a contractor send a guy to do a project who didn't talk to you; who just did the job, and you discovered later that something was crooked? Not this guy. He stopped to tell us that since the floor had settled, the counter was a quarter- inch lower than spec - was that Ok? He was meticulous, a perfectionist, making sure everything fit and lined up properly.

The design worked out pretty well! They came up with a couple different ideas. My biggest obstacle was when I told them up front that a remodel over $50,000 was not in my budget. When I received my estimate, the cost was at about $55,000 and I had to decline the work to be completed. They were very nice and professional. They even provide me with free home show tickets each year.

They provided about three to four designs. The issue we had was not that the designs were necessarily poor; however, it was not what I had anticipated. The plans were certainly more than enough for what we paid for the design. We have since put the job on hold and have not gone through with the kitchen remodel. I previously hired them for the installation of cabinetry and the work was superb. I really like Peters work and the way that he addresses issues very quickly. I would recommend him to anyone, especially for cabinetry.

PNW Cab. used Steve Amick of Spectrum homes to head up the actual work part of the remodel. They designed the space, built the cabinets and Steve was in charge of all the work to be done. All we can say is the whole process was as painless as you could never imagine a remodel to be. Steve had a schedule for when every aspect of the job would be done, and he told us that barring any unforseen problems that the whole job would take about 30 days, from start to finish. We had heard many horror stories from our friends who had used OTHER companies for their kitchen remodels, and so we were clearly skeptical as to Steve's timeline. Even with a few "discoveries" that had not been anticapated, and with a couple of late decisions on my part, they finished 30 days exactly! The finished product is amazing! Everyone loves our kitchen, and it is a joy to be in. It has been a year and a half now and without any doubt my wife comments weekly how happy she is with it all. We could not be more satisfied. Steve was the head contracter and arranged for the plumber, electrician, floor person, counters, tiles, etc to all be there when needed and it worked out great. None of our friends could believe how smooth an quick this project went for us. And especially with how great it looked after! I can only give Pacific Northwest Cabinetry the highest marks possible and recommend them to everyone!
Description of Work: Pacific NW Cabinetry did a complete kitchen remodel for us. They literally tore out everything to the floor boards and rebuilt a new kitchen for us.Flooring, cabinets, counters, lighting, parts of the ceiling, everything! It started with a quick phone contact by Crystal, and an in home appointment. There we discussed ideas and options for what we wanted in a new kitchen. She took photos, measurements, etc and left to go back and design us a masterpiece.Within 2 weeks, we met at their office and they reviewed plans they had designed and put on paper. These were computer images that showed the kitchen design from every angle. As earlier we had discussed budget, Crystal had made suggestions as to style and type within our budget. At this point we looked at examples in their lovely display room and then looked at samples of wood and styles of cabinets. We took a week or so to decide, and when we did we finalized the plans, picked out the design and wood, and paid a deposit or dowm payment. Crystal helped at every step of the way in choosing flooring, counter top(we went with granite), back splash, light fixtures, etc. She offered for a small fee to go with us to pick things out or as we opted, we brought in to her samples and she aided in our color choices and decision making. This was our first remodel of any type and we found PNW Cab. to be a great group of people to work with.

The design work was a way of getting you into their showroom and utilizing their services. I felt like it was a worthwhile experience and did enjoy it. They seemed very professional and knowledgeable. They are very high-end and locked into specific custom stuff and there is no room for discussion. This was not in my budget and for that reason I would not use them.

There really isn't much to tell. We went in to their showcase and looked at all their models and thought they were beautiful. So we asked them to design a cupboard for us, which they did. It took them several weeks, if I recall correctly) because they were busy. When we received it we realized it was way too expensive for us, so we told them we wouldn't be ordering it. And that was all of our transaction with them.

My designer was Crystal at Pacific Northwest Cabinetry. She took my layout sketch and made it into working drawings complete with a 3-D computer simulation of how it would look. She helped me pick cabinet styles and colors and kept track of progress during instalation. The cabinets themselves are American made Wellborn brand fabricated to order in Alabama. Pacific Northwest Cabinetry fabricated matching pieces and trim as needed. Workmanship is superb. They work to close tolerances fabricating a refrigerator enclosure to exactly accommodate my Samsung fridge to make it look built-in. A unique swing-out shelf system makes full use of corner cabinet space. The contractor was Spectrum Homes owned by a very hands-on Steve Amick. Steve works with Pacific Northwest Cabinetry as the general contractor. This was the biggest remodel job i have done on the house and it was genuinely fun in spite of loss of a kitchen for a time. Steve provided a "temporary kitchen" in my dining room. Steve provided a complete schedule showing day-by-day what subs would be doing their jobs and was there himself most of the time. The entire job was to be mostly complete in two weeks, and it was! Even with a few unforseen issues (like termite damage and a broken drain in the crawl space) each part of the job happened as scheduled. The original kitchen in my 1975 house was about as cheap as the builder could make it. Counter space was lacking as was adequate storage. The remodeled version is a vast improvement and I have been enjoying it for about a year. I have found a few things I would do differently--my choices, no fault of Pacific Northwest Cabinetry or Spectrum Homes. I wanted a dual fuel range (gas cook top, electric oven), but opted to save money by staying with a smooth-top electric model, saving a gas line extension and a costlier range. Bad choice! I hope to correct that mistake at some future time. Summary: I enjoyed working with Crystal and Steve and all their subs; all did excellent work at a fair price and I recommend them highly.
Description of Work: Design a complete wall-to-wall floot-to-ceiling new kitchen based on my sketch. Provide all cabinets and materials (except appliances purchased by owner and included in above cost) and install everything. Relocate furnace air intake and heat registers. Install all new ceiling pot lights and undercabinet lights. Rework plumbing. Remove a portion of a wall between kitchen and dining room. Install new floor and counter. Remove and replace sheet rock as necessary. Repair one wall damaged by termites. Owner did painting and planned to do the tile backsplash (which I haven't finished yet!).

Since I stated that I was more interested in doing a bathroom remodel prior to kitchen, I do not feel that much was put into the job. They measured and sent me a computer generated view of what they felt was what "plans" for a kitchen. Not any follow up or discussion as to any detail. Definitely not a $500 supposed cost plan.

We were very disappointed and did not continue with this company.
Description of Work: Angie's List deal included kitchen design for $75. The design was very amaturish with only the most obvious solutions explored. We asked them to give us some creative ways to bring light and better flow to the kitchen area. The design focused on specific cabinet functions rather than how the kichen floorplan would function. The design included awkward, unusable spaces. Also, they asked us for a budget and they designed a plan that exceeded our budget by several thousand dollars. We feel that did not listen to our needs.

Response from Pacific Northwest Cabinetry & Remodeling
Thank you for your feedback from the designs we created for you back in April of this year. I am sorry you feel you were not listened to and had something different in mind when you came to us. As we discussed at our initial appointment at your home, and again at our showroom, it would not be possible to complete your remodeling wish list for the $40,000.00 budget that you set. To recap our discussion, a full kitchen remodel consisting of architectural drawings with engineering calculations, applicable permits for removing two structural walls, reframing the middle of your home to support the upstairs living space to allow more light, installing new oak flooring in the kitchen and blending in with the rest of your homes flooring, upgrading the kitchen to meet current electrical code, rerouting existing electrical circuits, expanding the kitchen window to countertop height letting in more light, patching and painting the siding at window installation, running a gas line for new range, running a new HVAC exhaust line to code outside of home for microwave hood installation, installing full slab granite countertops, full height glass and tile backsplash, under cabinet task lighting, new general kitchen area lighting, new drywall, new paint, new kitchen cabinetry and built in buffet at dining room with interior cabinet lighting, seating at peninsula, and a double bin recycling area are not possible within this budget. We wish you the best in your remodeling project and thank you again for the opportunity to provide an initial design and estimate.

Peter Schraner and his crews recently finished a major renovation of our old kitchen plus several additional tasks that we tacked on. We've done projects before with first-rate outfits in the 43 years we've owned our house, but until now we had no idea how perfectly such a job could go. Peter set a day-to-day schedule before he started and somehow kept it exactly, including subcontractors, etc. Plus the design process was easy, imaginative and thorough. We enjoyed having these people -- each and every one -- in our home; they were uniformly careful, considerate, flexible and capable. And the end result is beyond our hopes and expectations. Excellent? No, better than that.
Description of Work: Remodel kitchen including new cabinets, appliances, layout and design, tiling, counters. lighting, insulation, etc. Also, insulated entire attic, added new lighting in living room and new fixture control, throughout the house, fixed bathroom plumbing, snaked drains, etc, etc, -- i.e. far beyond just the kitchen work in response to our various requests.

We did not use them as the price for the entire remodel was alot more than we had anticipated. We were hoping to do the remodel in stages but the plan they had, which was great and the way to go, was a 3 week project. The price for the kitchen remodel was about $35,000 and we were hoping for something around 15-20. If we had the funds we totally would have used them. The plan and time they spent with me was well worth it.
Description of Work: I purhcased a kitchen design package via angie's list. The package included measured design and floor plan. The two that came out were great. one was the designer and the other a contractor. I feel I got way more for my $75.00 - they spent an hour in my kitchen measuring, asking me questionss and looking at pictures of kitchen's i liked. They really listened to whiat I wanted offered suggestions and after the design was done provided me with a lovely plan.

Ok. Wish the computer models were working better, but it was a new program for them and could not be helped. They do lovely work just not what we want to invest at this time.
Description of Work: They are very nice people at this company and they provided an estimate to remodel portions of our home. We did this this just to get an idea of costs and what could be done with the space. The owner of the company read us the proposal which was really a waste of our time and his. This could have been e-mailed to us a head of time for our review. If we wanted to move forward based on this proposal and see the proposed designed we could have come into the office then. It may be better for them in the future to break out costs in an itemized list.

Found Pacific NW Cabinets from Angie's list and they lived up to their reputation. Ivy was our designer and she did an awesome job of turning our specifications into reality. Even after I signed the contract and paid the deposit, they went out of their way to find "extras" such as a motion-activated light switch for the LED puck lights. Quality was outstanding. They constructed the entertainment cabinet as one entire piece (instead of modular which I expected). I appreciated the attention to detail. The president of the Company, Peter, even made a trip himself to my home to get a sample of the wood so they could match the exact color of the existing baseboard/moulding of our home. AND they gave me their extra paint. Installers were very professional, clean, and kept a good line of communication with me. In summary, I'd highly recommend Pacific NW Cabinets for your next project or remodel!
