+ 0 moreThey were prompt, courteous and professional. They were very careful of my property, cleaning up everything as they completed their job. I would highly recommend NW Home Energy Solutions, LLC to anyone looking for excellence workmanship.. Oh, and one of my neighbors is having them do their home as a result of seeing what they did in my home.
Description of Work: I hired NW Home Energy Solutions, LLC to insulate a rental property in November 2011. The rental house was built in 1976 and has 1873 sq. ft.. They sealed all ducts in crawlspace and sealed the inside vents as well.. The crawlspace and attic were insulated to Energy Trust Standards and as a result of that I will receive a large incentive rebate from Energy Trust.. The owner brought me the paperwork to fill out, making it very easy for me to turn in to "Energy Trust". Also, I can claim the work on my taxes and receive some sort of credit there . As a result of that job, neighbors of the rental property also had them insulate their home and are very pleased. The approximate figure of $4300.00 is for the work done on the above mentioned rental property only. Because of the positive feedback I received from my tenants, on Dec 3-4th,2011 I hired the company to insulate my own home which was also bulit in the 70's and I couldn't be happier. I cannot believe what a difference it has made in the comfort level of my home. The owner and her crew are amazing, courteous, and thorough. This home has a little over 1600 sq ft and they did the same sealing and cleaning of the air ducts, as well as installing the attic and crawlspace insulation. They actually found I had no insulation under my living/dining room and entry whatsoever. Now I DO and I wish I had known about this top quality company years ago. I will also receive the incentive rebate from Energy Trust on this home. I am looking forward to my next NW Gas bill to see how much I'm saving! Just as important, I'm warm!

+ 0 moreGreat!! We really can feel a difference with the even heating of the house. We were unintentionally heating the garage as well as the crawlspace because of the amount of air leaks. They even filled out the paperwork for the rebate that Oregon Energy Trust provides. This brings the price of the job down a lot!
Description of Work: This was much more than air duct cleaning. They first cleaned all of the ducts, then tested the air flow in the house, sealed all of the leaks at the furnace as well as all of the metal floor registers. They then rehung all of the ducts in the crawl space. Retested the air flow in the house and this time it met the Oregon Energy Trust requirements!

+ -1 moreGerald was prompt, pleasant and courteous, and seemed to know what he was doing. My only negatives were two-fold: 1. Although I told him we had vaulted ceilings and high supply and return registers, his comment was "well, I travel with a 5-1/2 foot ladder; I hope that's enough." Fortunately, I had borrowed an 8-foot step ladder which he needed for two of the registers. He needs to buy a taller ladder 2. It would seem that using a soft brush on the end of the vacuum hose to dislodge what's in the duct would do a better job of cleaning flexible ducts than just the round hose end. His work in cleaning old spray texture out of the registers was fine, and he did a generally good of of cleaning up debris. Total time for the work was about 1h:45min. There were no surprises with the final cost - it was exactly what he had said it would be.
Description of Work: Company removed grills from and vacuumed out and sanitized 13 air vents/ducts in a single-level home. (Main furnace plenum not done as it was to be replaced within a week.)
