Paul (who is great at explanations) had his brother come on time the first day to begin the work. All the work was done beautifully and the last day they worked until past 9pm to meet their deadline with us because we had pet complications. We plan on having Paul do some other renovations while we are on vacation.
Description of Work: We had tile installed on the outdoor deck, a new sink and faucet installed in the kitchen. We also had some cabinets touched up where the Cherry had been water damaged and had tile put in a downstairs bathroom.
This past Winter I was fortunate to find Paul and his crew from a friend who had used them. He was prompt in his looking at the bathroom remodel that we were planning and gave us some great insights on dealing with some issues. The work they did was very professional from the floor tiling, the shower remaking and tiling, the cabinet refinishing, the change to granite countertops, and the new lighting. They subcontracted the glass doors for the shower, and the work done by the gentleman was a beautiful addition. Not only was the work done by Paul and his crew extremely well done, they were very concerned with keeping the areas clean and well protected. Any questions I had or problems they faced were cared for immediately. After completion I had them come back because of material malfunctions, and they replied quickly and handled any problems that had occurred. I recommend them highly and will not hesitate to have them do any other project in the future.
Description of Work: Master bathroom renovation including a new shower, new granite countertops, refaced cabinets, new lighting with fan, new toilet, and new tile floors. Guest bathroom renovation including new granite countertops, new lighting with fan, new toilet, and new tile floors.

I left a message for this provider over 10 days ago. No call back yet. It appears that they are so wildly successful that they can blow off any new potential customers like myself. And it appears that I am not the first who got the cold shoulder from this outfit. See earlier reviews. That should have been a clue to me. UPDATE - with regard to the provider's response, this job did not involve " a single hinge in a cabinet door". They are confusing me with someone else they did not call back. My job was much more substantial.

Dear sir, my appolgies for my lack of response. I Should have called you in person to let you know that we would be unable fix the single hinge in your cabinet door. With all respect sir, per our listing with Angie's list, this not a service we provide. Thank you for your interest in our company and please keep us in mind for any renovation work you may need.

The phone conversation was short and they sound like they only want high end projects so they quoted a huge estimate and didn't even schedule a time to view the house.
Description of Work: They called and basically said the cost would be nearly $20K without even scheduling to see the project or the property. Would have preferred a professional visit and at least to have someone see the work.

Dear Member, We receive many requests for weekly for estimates and must attempt to determin if we are able to help each new potential customer. Unfortunately due to your large volume of work (remodel, hardwoods, two baths, kitchen, paint all areas, and more) and your low budget constraints, I determined that we not be able work together. I thought that you appreciated my honesty, as neither your time nor mine was put to waste.

Virtually every component of the existing kitchen, with the exception of the floor, was replaced during the course of the remodel. Paul Cicerone of New Leaf Renovation has remarkable vision for introducing new design, materials, colors, lighting and hardware that not only complements each other, but also blended well with the adjoining room's interior that did not change. We were very thankful to have Paul's guidance with the multitude of decisions required during the course of the remodel. We enjoyed Paul's personable and straight forward approach, as well as his sense of humor. We also very much appreciated the work ethics and attention to detail demonstrated by Paul's crew of professionals. They replaced a 27 year old kitchen with an extraordinary new kitchen. That group included Matt, George, Jose, Juan, Joel, Steve, Val and others. A job well done.

It was not a very positive experience. He came out and spent some time. Then I never heard back from him. He was fine. He didn’t really agree with the scope of what I was doing. He seemed like he was trying to push me to do things that I wasn’t really planning to do or use certain building supplies I wasn’t really prepared to use. I was open to hearing the price differential and what it would have meant to me. He never did respond with a bid. He did show up when he was supposed to.

My wife andI decided it was time to do a remodel in our master bathroom as it had aged over the years and needed updating. We had met with 3 different contractors biding on the project and as you can imagine prices varied dramatically as well as time alloted for the job. In every category Paul and his group were of the best value, most through in their approach, and honest in their appraisal of what the job would entail both time wise and cost. They were extremely courteous in their day to day work and helpful in their selection of products, colors, and assorted recommendations through the project. The project was finished on time, in budget, and both my wife and I were extremely happy with the craftmanship done in completing the job. The quality was top notch and nothing missed. There were no corners cut with regard to workmanship and products installed. Since it's completion, my wife and I have discussed several additional modeling jobs with Paul and plan to move forward in addressing these as well in the future. I highly recommend giving Paul and his group at New Leaf Renovations an opportunity to bid on any of your projects. It will be handled in a professional manner with respect to your time and budget involved.

Paul was a pleasure to work with and was very professional throughout the process. I interviewed at least 5 contractors through the process and Paul really listened to what my goals for the bathrooms were and also my budget. He was very timely in getting a quote for the work to me and then we discussed it he explained his rationale for each item and also potential alternatives if certain items didn't meet my requirements or budget. I appreciated his insight and also appreciated his flexibility in our meeting times. I was very busy with work and out of town quite a bit during the selection process and Paul moved around his schedule to accomodate meeting with me in the evenings or on the weekend. He made the process very easy for me which was much appreciated. Paul and his team were great when they were working in the house. I wasn't around alot but my roommate was and Paul and his team were very professional and accomodating to his schedule. The bathrooms turned out amazing, I couldn't believe the difference in all 3 bathrooms, especially given the tight budget that I had. It more than exceeded my expectations. I wish I had the foresight to take before and after photos as that would explain a lot better than a few paragraphs from me how great of a job in a tight budget Paul and his team did. I am very impressed. Paul was in constant communication with me the whole time and finished right in the time line we had discussed. When I have other remodel projects in the house I will be using Paul and his team. Many thanks Eric

He seemed professional, confident & reasonably priced. But our project which he stated would take 3 weeks to complete wasn't completed for 3 1/2 months. He did have a personal problem early on which he related to us later. And the work completed is of good quality. But he was incredibly hard to reach & unresponsive to phone calls & emails. He agreed to do work in our home which we will be putting on the market, & we reserved this work for him. But the time came when he was to have done the pre-job walk through & he again has failed to respond. Usually you must leave a voice mail (which he apparently never receives) but even when you actually do get through, it's always "Can I call you right back?" & then nothing. It would be nice if he would just man up & say he doesn't want to do the job. That would have given us the opportunity to hire someone else to get this house on the market when we had planned. It would also appear that he has changed his company name. Obviously, there's something more going on. You may ask why we wanted to do additional work with him after our first experience. I did tell him that his communication skills left a lot to be desired to which he was apologetic. Paul seems like a very sincere, together guy when you talk to him face to face. We gave him the benefit of the doubt after our job was finally completed & he came right out to look at our other project. We also will have a lot of remodeling to do in the new house. It's usually easier to work with someone whose skills you're familiar with than to start the interviewing process over. Our mistake.
Description of Work: We hired Paul to remodel a kitchen in a house we weren't yet living in. This included demolition of countertops, rebuilding an island, painting existing cabinets & installing appliances. Work contracted out but supervised by Paul were tile floors & backsplash, & granite countertops.

We first worked for (member name removed) on a renovation of a kitchen that was badly in need of repair. The home had been bought as a foreclosure and (member name removed) and his wife intended to move into the home. We carefully devised a plan that worked with their intent of attaining a modern Asian feel which included a complete redesign of the space but most importantly for them, working with the existing cabinets, which were in very bad shape and had been the home to rodents for several years. The end result was magnificent, (member name removed) and his wife loved the finished product so much that they showed many of their friends and neighbors, several of whom called us for estimates on work. We later were asked to do several other detailed projects including the refinishing of a steel framed atrium. (member name removed) and his wife were so pleased they invited us to do work on their current home which they intend to sell soon. The work required ingenuity and attention to detail as the repairs were unique. During the project (member name removed) and I had many a conversations and we became friends, we did several other projects and favors for (member name removed) and his wife at no or very low cost, and I did so willingly because I thought they were good people. Because of the trust we had built (member name removed) asked for and ultimately used a hardwood floor restoration company that I had suggested. When (member name removed) asked me to help him prepare his home for sale, we had already begun our busy season, which has become extremely busy this year. I let (member name removed) know that we were booked until march, which he said was not a problem. We never scheduled a day to finally walk through his home, but we both made several attempts. I did not get back to (member name removed) immediately on several occasions, but I saw the work we would do for him on his current home a work for a friend that we could fit in on a weekend to try and keep the cost as low as possible for (member name removed). (member name removed) review of our “relationship” that has spanned nearly a year and over 30k in work came as a shock to me. (member name removed) never left us a review for the fine work we did for him, that he was egar to show off, nor did he contact me by email or phone to express his belief that I was unprofessional and unreliable as he states in his review. Sadly I must be a very poor judge of character as I did not think that (member name removed) was the kind of client that only left negative reviews. For those that read this, we work for about four Angie’s list clients a month. Of those clients only 1 in 15 who have a great experience will leave a positive review. Of the clients who are unhappy or felt that something did not go well, nearly 100% will leave a review. We are all busy, and sometimes when things go well we take them for granted, we forget it is no longer of importance. Please remember, if you have a good experience this is how so many of us make a living and good service deserves the same urgency as bad service.
I originally obtained 4 estimates and sought the design expertise of the the contractors for their ideas on ways to increase the size of both the bathroom and the shower. Paul, Owner of New Leaf, responded quickly and came up the the overall best design. His estimate was actually the lowest of all which was important but not paramount. He was ultimately chosen based on 4 criteria, Design, Price, Customer reviews and to be frank, he instilled integrity and confidence. My instincts certainly proved correct. Paul readily agreed to perform additional work of demoing the kitchen and installing appliances once Ikea completed install of new cabinets. When the Crew showed up work started with gusto and the schedule was mostly maintained . The Tile professional, Lance, is a perfectionist. and did an amazing job. Matt seemed to adapt to all construction challenges and was very careful to to keep things neat ant tidy so we could still live in the house. The drywall, and paint crew had the wallpaper off and completed painting both bathrooms and the kitchen quickly and flawlessly. The most surprising aspect of the experience was Paul's and his crews willingness to cheerfully tackle numerous extra tasks for little or minimal costs without complex change orders etc.. For example they installed an antique phone booth with pay phone on a kitchen wall. Lance and Matt snaked speaker wire under carpeting so I could install surround sound speakers. The Kitchen sink had to be removed and installed twice while granite counter tops and subsequent granite black-splash was installed. Matt actually drove from home while on sick leave to remove the sink to accommodate the granite installers schedule. Paul and his employees all presented this same "can do" attitude and commitment to completing quality work. I feel very strongly about this company as evidenced by this being the first review I have ever written.
Description of Work: Completely renovated master bath, removed and replaced walls to make the bathroom bigger with a bigger walk in shower. Repositioned the door into the bathroom. Repositioned plumming to accommodate a shower panel, designed and installed tile shower walls and tile floor. Installed frame-less glass around the shower. Old wallpaper was removed and the bathroom was completely repainted. Replaced 2 vanities with new cabinets, granite counter tops, faucets, and sinks. Installed new modern toilet. Guest bath was also updated with granite counter top, new sink and faucet, toilet replaced, and new paint after wallpaper removal. The kitchen cabinets were removed and installed in the garage in prep for a new Ikea kitchen. Kitchen ceiling was modified and can lights installed. Electrical outlets were moved and updated. Once new cabinets were in place, Paul installed the new sink , garbage disposal, dishwasher, and built in microwave.

It was such a pleasure working for [member name removed] and his wife. We just started another job for them and will likely do many more. [member name removed] and his wife exemplify, the valued and loyal customers that we have come to enjoy while being an Angie's list contractor.
Description of Work: I intereviewed 5 or 6 companies for estimates on a complete remodelijng of our house in Lake Oswego. I met with different contractors from Angie's List whom I believed did good work. I decided to choose Paul Cicerone and his Company because I felt I could trust him 100%. I chose Paul and his Company because of his experience in modelling large projects. At each step of the project, I felt he had good knowledge about home rennovation and provided me with much good advice. Most of all, his character and personality that he could meet my high expectations of a contractor. Durijng the process, Paul was very patient. He understood the frustrations that come out in any big modelling project. Each probability that came up, Paul came with a solution that went beyond my expectations. We were able to move out of the area and trusted our house Paul and his team without reservations. I felt that Paul and all of his crew put a 100% effort on the job. I felt hat Paul was a moral and trustworthy persion who does not think only for profit for himself He was very unlike many of the other contracters we interviewed who were much more profit-motivated and recommended many high cost projects that were not needed. The more I got to know Paul, his backgrounds, his life expericnes, his family, and his values, he seemed lie one of the family. I believe he will go far in his life. I am very happy with Paul and his Company's work, and I highly recommend Paul to everyone. Now our house is almost done. With Paul's advice in every project, our house turned out beautifully and has received high praise from all of our neighbors. It looks like a new house in a magazine. I am putting my house on the market in the near future, and I believe we will get a good prcie for the money in invested and the excellent work that Paul and his Company did for us.

We called New Leaf based on a recommendation from a friend, but it didn't turn out as expected. After leaving a message with New Leaf, Paul returned our call and set up an appointment to come look at our project. Paul showed up on time and was very courteous and professional while at our house. He provided some great feedback on our idea and we though we had found the guy for our project. Unfortunately it all went downhill from there. We were in no hurry for a response, so we gave New Leaf over two weeks, but after two weeks we hadn't heard a single thing. I tried email Paul, but he didn't respond. I also tried calling, but he didn't return our calls. After several attempts I finally reached him on the phone. He was apologetic and gave an excuse but promised me he would have some information to me within 24 hours. It has been a week since that call and we haven't received a single thing. This seems to follow with some of the other reviews, so I fear this is a pattern. We were convinced Paul was the guy for the job, but this lack of punctuality, response, and professionalism is a real bummer. I truly wonder what else we could have done, as we spent over an hour talking with him about our project and thought he was the right fit. It turns out that was just a waste of time.

Paul got back to me about a bid very quickly and accommodated our schedule by coming by in the evening. He was able to start the job quickly which allowed the remodel to happen before we moved into the new home. His ideas for the design and materials were spot-on and helpful. A few minor hiccups were met with a quick and fair response including changes at his cost and/or no cost to us. He was very responsive, answering his phone almost every time I called. The finished product exceeded our expectations.
Description of Work: Full master bathrroom remodel
Dissapointing. Miscommunications. Mistakes. Never saw a note written down and direction was given by us via email and phone. Wrong slabs cut for the wrong bathrooms. A bathroom counter not supposed to be ripped out was ripped out in a misscommunication. The work ended up ok, quality varied from bathroom to bathroom. Nice guy seems to have a lot going on. We did not move forward with the painting refinishing work.
Description of Work: The original estimate was to replace countertops in three of our four bathrooms aqnd kitchen plus repainting qand refinisihing/restaining of our kitchen cabinets and woodwork. Plumbing, demo, tile backsplash, etc all included in this work. The origranl estimate work total would have been in the $35-$40K range including the painting.

I am sorry to hear that Member's found our finished product to be average. We really worked hard to try and satisfy these folks. Admittedly mistakes were made regarding the slabs in the bathrooms. I accepted full responsibility for this and replaced them quickly and at no cost to them. I even went as far as to install marble hex tile with a border in a 80sqft bathroom($2,500 value) for no cost as well just to make amends for our error, in fact it looked so beautiful that we posted a short video on our Facebook page if anyone would like to check it out and see if our work looks average :) Member's are busy working parents who were also just moving in when we started their project. We worked hard (and I mean hard) to decipher all communication even though it sometimes conflicted between the two of them such as when Member instructed one of my installers to remove a vanity top in the master that Member did not want removed, but again I bent over backwards to provide a new top for them at cost(no markp). We did a lot of amazing work for these folks to which they verbally stated that they were very happy with the product. We certainly hope that after Member's have had time to settle into their new home and appreciate the quality of work and just plain professional service they received from us, they will return to Angie’s list to update this review.

Paul was knowledgeable and professional. I am confident he is competent and with a different job and different timing, Paul's company might be a good fit. What Paul quoted was a fair price. Since we did not complete the job with Paul it is difficult to judge the quality vs price. My reasoning for answering NO to the question of would we use New Leaf Restoration again was driven by the fact we chose another bidder.
Description of Work: Paul Cicerone the owner came to our house to quote the requested cabinet restoration job. Paul was pleasant and he professionally quoted the job and had provided additional ideas on how to improve on the meeting our needs. Paul followed up and provided a written quote the day after we met. I got the impression this was a smaller than normal job for him. We chose an alternative company partly do to the fact that they offered additional services and were available to start the project immediately.
Paul assessed the work needed and gave us a detailed estimate based on various scenarios of change we were looking for. He also determined the extent of water damage in the house structure and suggested the best ways to fix it. He brought a design consultant, Amy, who helped us with design elements and choices. The work was well laid out in phases and was done with little to no hassle throughout the course of the remodel/repair. There was a time hiccup towards the end when the cabinet maker was occupied with a larger commercial installation but Paul worked with him to try and keep the completion date as close to estimate as he could. The crew was always respectful, friendly and very professional at all times. We were able to incorporate all the elements that we wanted in a functional yet elegant kitchen. It seems to be held as one of the best kitchens any of our friends have ever seen. Despite having limited space to expand the kitchen the design that Paul and Amy came up with was making the most functional use of the space. we were so pleased with the whole experience that we have recommended Paul and crew to several of our friends who have also used his services. Not only he an excelled business partner, he is a philanthropist and an overall great guy. I would highly recommend his work to anyone without reservations.
Description of Work: We used Paul Cicerone and New Leaf Renovation for a major kitchen remodel and a minor redo of the bathroom, replacement of windows and siding of the house that had suffered water damage, and structural work to accommodate all the changes needed. Kitchen remodel included complete flooring change (installation of tiles), granite countertop, Lyptus cabinets, state of the art and custom appliances design and installation and more.

Paul and his team have just finished re-finishing my kitchen cabinets. I had lived with a color I did not like for years, but the cabinets were too expensive to rip out. After considering several different solutions, I met Paul at one of the Home Shows and loved what he was showing me. I was happy to leave my name and phone number, and he called me soon after the show. After coming out to show me some of the finishes he could apply, giving me some great suggestions and bidding the job, I hired them to give me a new kitchen! His crew was great, and Paul has obviously have created a system that produces an excellent job. They were on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up every time they were in the home. Along the way, there were a couple of complications which weren't obvious at the time the job was bid, and these were solved quickly. In addition, I added on some painting work I hadn't planned on doing, and it was done just as quickly -- and the change order price was very acceptable. Paul is smart, personable, a great manager -- and it's obvious he takes great pride in doing the job right. His people obviously enjoy working for him. I would recommend New Leaf Renovation to anyone. In fact, I'm going to have them do a large remodel on a bedroom and bath in the Spring!
Description of Work: My kitchen was full of 25 yr. old oak cabinets, which had changed color a lot over the years. I bought the home 11 years ago, and have wanted to change them all that time. After meeting Paul, the owner of New Leaf Renovation, at one of the Portland home shows, I was very impressed with the technique they had for refinishing cabinets that were just too nice to toss away. They removed all the doors and drawers to refinish in the show, then very carefully taped off the entire kitchen and cabinet boxes, and then sprayed the finish on the boxes. After the proper drying, they brought back the doors and drawers, re-installed them, and then attached the new hardware I had purchased. During the process of re-installing, I decided I couldn't live anymore with the oak trim on the ceiling fixtures in my kitchen and family room either, so asked Paul if he could add painting my ceiling and the trim before they finished the job. The next day, the painting was done. Towards the end of the job, we all noticed a couple of things that needed more finesse (things we hadn't picked up on at the beginning), and Paul and the crew figured out what was needed, and it was all finished the next day. The kitchen is gorgeous, and I've had people say that it feels like I had the whole kitchen remodeled!

We had previously worked with Paul on a previous bathroom remodel and some other work in our home and had such a great experience that we knew we would work with him to remodel our kitchen. Paul and his team completely impressed us again. The work that his team did was thorough, very high quality and was again accompanied by highly responsive and thoughtful customer service. Paul worked closely with us to finalize our design and establish a project plan. Our agreement with Paul included a very detailed description of the scope of the job which was quite helpful. He also provided us with a project plan that outlined what we could expect throughout the project. Everyone we've worked with on Paul's team, to the person, has been an excellent craftsman, but more so (and more rare to find) a thoughtful and considerate person to have in our home. They always make an effort to clean-up the site every night and to really think through how the project will impact your day to day life and talk through those things with you. As in any complex project, we ran into a few hiccups - including an issue with the way our granite fabricator handled our install. Paul stepped in and handled that situation extremely professionally on our behalf - working as an intermediary for us to resolve the issue. He personally came o the house to be part of those conversations with the fabricator and verify that things were taken care of -confirming that we were comfortable wiht the final outcome. I felt that Paul was highly accountable - even for an issue out of his control and showed us that he was as or even more invested than we were in ensuring that we had exactly the kitchen we were looking for. That is pretty exceptional and in my experience, highly unusual in the world of contractors. The best way I can think of to describe it is that Paul functions much more like a business partner than the typical "vendor" style contractors I've worked with in the past. Paul is usually not the cheapest bid we get, but is typically south of the median and in our assessment and expeirence, consistently offers the highest value in his pricing. In terms of outcomes, without any material changes to the floorplan or existing cabinets, our kitchen is completely transformed! We couldn't be more thrilled. It is now the light, bright, functional center of our home - just as we hoped it would be. The cabinets are the most incredible part of the transformation. I am so relieved that we didn't elect to replace them. They look like new - inside and out. We selected an antique white finish with a light staining accent detail and they are a knock-out. They have a luminous kind of pearl glazing on them that really make them look very high end. I don't think I've seen any cabinets I've liked better - including the new ones we shopped for. We really love our kitchen and just love working with Paul and his team. Hard to believe, but everytime we use them we really do enjoy having them around and always have a lot of laughs - even during the stress of a remodel. We have since completed one more project in our office and laundry room. I plan to write a separate review - also an excellent expeirence! Recently, we referred a friend and he keeps thanking me for connecting them to Paul and his team. He also found the quality of work, value and overall expeirence to be exceptional and unique. Highly recommend!

We negotiated the price for our project which included new flooring, complete interior painting, and redo counters and cabinets in the kitchen. A time calendar was established and work started with a scheduled complete time of 21/2 weeks. As the project got started, scheduling was a bit hectic, but workers showed up ready to work and did a wonderful job. They were professonal at all times and cleaned up after themselves every day before they went home. We had a few problem areas which they handled with ease. Our flooring was installed flawlessly, the interior painting was immaculate, and the kitchen counter, cabinets, and backsplash are absolutely amazing. My thanks to Paul and Danny who did the flooring and tile backsplash........perfectionists and very hard workers. Also, Jose, Jesus, and Ricardo our interior painters..........beautiful job guys! In addition, Jose refinished our kitchen cabinets and did astounding work. The transformation is unbelievable. The project ran a little late in finishing, but the result diminishes the inconvenience. Professional, hard working, group of guys.
Description of Work: We installed laminate flooring in 3 rooms plus entry and hall. We had the entire interior painted, as well as the kitchen ceiling and the kitchen cabinets refinished in a darker color. We also had granite countertops installed in the kitchen and added a tile backsplash. The project included installing a new stainless sink and faucet and a finished end cabinet, also.

Master bath/closet remodel was a complex, detailed project. Total space to work with was only 8' X 13'. In this space we wanted a double vanity , enclosed toilet area, enlarged modern shower and high capacity closet. Although I had the basic design worked out, to make it work we needed to utilize every inch. Paul was able to grasp the concept right away and was able to help us work thru some compromises we needed to make and fine tune the design. Our budget was very small for the scope of the project. Paul shopped with us and helped us pick materials and colors that kept us on budget and gave us a better look than we originally imagined. Paul, his employees and subs paid close attention to detail and cut no corners in getting everything right. Paul's knowledge, experience and creativity kept us from needing to compromise to get the look and utility we wanted at a price we were comfortable with. We had a few change orders along the way. All were handled fairly and professionally.
Description of Work: Major remodel of Master bath/closet - minor remodel of downstairs bath - repiped whole hose (4 baths) - painted several other rooms.
My wife and I were extremely pleased with the final product. Paul is a very personable and straight forward contractor with many years of experience and a genuine talent and passion for craftsmanship. He has a couple of individuals working for him although he did a majority of the work himself on this job. The "other" Paul who did most of the tile work was equally pleasant and competent. He was the most competitive of the three contractors who provided estimates and we felt like his work was a good value. We have had other remodels done so a word to the wise, be sure to communicate extensively with your contractor prior to and during the job. Paul was a good communicator. During the remodel it is always inconvenient and your stuff is out of place; also there are noise and dust issues and the contractor needs a staging area and work area (e.g. cutting tile), so be sure to speak up if something is bugging you. Finally, be sure to go over the estimate in detail and ask questions. If its not on the list it is unlikely to happen without a change order and extra cost. Changing your mind later can take time and money. Finally, be patient since nothing ever goes completely perfect, but in our case it was pretty close to that with no major problems. We would use Paul again -- also he takes big and small jobs and will work within your budget.
Description of Work: Paul Cicerone completely remodeled our bathroom area. This included a complete tear out and build of a walk-in closet area where previously there was a tub. He advised us on design options prior to the job. Completed product included a fully functional closet with pocket door, a new bathroom counter with sinks, medicine cab. etc, a tiled shower with hinge-less glass doors, new toilet, tile floor, painting and texturing and related electrical plumbing and misc fixture install He also did carpet replacement and other minor work in other affected areas of our home. He contracted out some of the plumbing work and did his own electrical. The cabinets and granite counter top are top-notch and beautiful.

Christmas Eve morning brought a very unpleasant surprise for us: a leak in our laundry room ceiling, most likely from our master bath shower directly above. Our neighbors had recently hired New Leaf Renovation to redo their kitchen (looks great!) and were very pleased with the company so I called Paul, fully expecting to leave a message that wouldn't get answered until after Christmas. I was delighted when Paul answered and said he could come by that afternoon. He showed up promptly and determined that it was a minor leak and that we could continue to use the shower until he was able to do the repair on Monday. On Monday, Paul cut out the damaged sheetrock and replaced the master bath shower drain and flange, the source of the leak. He also checked the framing lumber and found no signs of dry rot or mold beyond the small visible patch on the ceiling. Best guess is that we have had an intermittent leak that went undetected until Christmas Eve morning when the water finally broke through the sheetrock. We were very happy to hear that the water damage was minimal. Paul recommended waiting a day to patch the laundry room ceiling so that we could be sure the leak was fixed. Good thing we followed his advice. There was still a slow leak from the shower, due to almost imperceptible hairline crack in the shower pan next to the drain. Paul returned on Tuesday, repaired the crack, patched the sheetrock and textured the ceiling. We expected the shower pan repair to look patched and were happy to see no visible signs of the repair. The ceiling repair also looks great (it still needs to be repainted, which I'll do). Paul's work was top-notch. We would definitely hire him again. If we could, we'd rate punctuality as A- because he arrived a couple hours later than expected on Monday. He did call to let us know but not promptly. However, he was punctual all other times.
Description of Work: Repaired leaking shower, patched laundry room ceiling.
