Nature First Pest Control Portland

Termites were working their way up the interior back wall of our garage from beneath the garage floor. The termites had burrowed into the drywall. I took a picture and emailed it to Randy so that he could determine what needed to be done. He got back to me right away to schedule an appointment. We removed the drywall about six inches fromt he floor of the garage along the entire back wall so that Randy and his associate could determine if the termites had caused any structural damage to the wall. Fortunately for us their was not much damage to the wall. They guys drilled holes into the concrete floor at regular intervals and treated under the slab, along the back wall, and other areas along the front of the garage where we had discovered past termite damage that occured before we purchased our home. They patched up the holes with a liquid concrete product. The job only took a few hours since we removed the drywall ahead of time.

My wife and I moved into a new house (new construction, finished in early October) last month. A few weeks after we moved in we saw ants along the floor in the hallway and a few scouting the kitchen. I played phone tag with Nature's Pest for a few days, which is why I gave Promptness a B, but everybody is busy, so no big deal. Randy came out early on a Saturday and looked around but of course the ants were nowhere to be in site! Tricky buggers. Randy explained to us the psychology of ants, and showed us how to use the bait/traps. He set bait in the kitchen and within 7 hours, the ants had swarmed it! They ate it all and we put down more along the path they were taking into the house. We did this for 24 hours and the ants disappeared completely. We haven't seen a single ant since. I would readily hire Randy and his guys again!

We called them up and they came that same day. When they got here they looked at the areas we pointed out, sprayed some ?environment friendly? killer and put down some ant killing gel. They did not take a really close look, or poke around, to see if they could find the source of the ants. Four months later we called them back because the ants were back. They came in, very ho-hum attitude, put down more gel and sprayed some more in the area where we saw the ants. They still did not look around to see if they could find the ant colony. They said, "Another ant colony could have moved in after the other died off." I don't think the first one was killed off. The ants are back again. This time we are calling a service that will try and find the colony. We are not looking for "environmentally friendly." We are looking for a company that will do a good job and not have a "we are bored and don't care" attitude. The first time they were here they stayed about 20 mins. The second visit they were here about 10 mins.

Called yesterday afternoon they arrived promptly at 9:00 as scheduled. Took no more than 20 minutes to treat the problem areas.

Nature First arrived and immediately set to work going around the perimeter of the outside our house. One opening was discovered which was then filled with copper mesh. This was where the mice were gaining access and the mesh would keep them from using this means of entry/egress again. After that the fellow from Nature First explained that using traps was the best way of getting rid of them as they now could not go outside to feed and would find the peanut butter on the traps quite alluring. I was then shown how to set the traps and then where to place them. Next I was taught how to deal with the traps after a mouse was caught in it and how often to check them and re-bait them. The men from Nature First were very helpful and I was feeling lots better about the whole process when they left. If I see mice in the traps for more than two weeks I am to let them know as we have a one year guarentee and the fellows from this company will return during that time to deal with these unwanted guests.

They are very reliable. We do not use them anymore because they took care of the problem. They were great!

They actually recommended no service. One does not get such an objective, professional response from a contractor very often. I really appreciate that so they will surely be the first folks I call the next time I really do have an issue.

Wow! I called and they were here within a half hour! Randy and Mike were friendly and knowledgable, gladly educating me on the different types of bugs around my house. They even played with my dog! I will definitely use them again.

They just were out a few days ago and so far the result has been good. They were on time and very pleasant. They were knowledegeable and efficient. They blocked all enteries for mice. They also treated for carepenter ants with minimum spray and a one year warranty. They treated the posts with boric acid.

I found a bees nest in my rock wall out by the sidewalk while I was weeding my yard. A guard-type bee gave me a "gentle" tap on my back that I was getting to close to the nest and I backed away. It was near the end of summer, & luckily, it was a cool overcast day when I found the nest. I thought that they were "honey" type bees, but after researching them they weren't. I am not allergic to bees, but deathly afraid of them. When I found the coupon on Angies list & read the reviews, I called & left a message. We played phone tag but he got back to me and apparently there were many nests in the city that he was being called out for. He & his assistant came out, and they sprayed the nest. I had to call him again. The 2nd time he came out all suited up in his "bee gear", and got close & personal with the nest & I haven't seen a bee come out of the nest since. I waited until after spring to see if the nest really was gone, and I have not seen a nasty, angry bee come from where that nest was. I would recommend him to my family & friends. I gave him a B rating for punctuality & responsiveness, peak season I guess, also for quality just because I would have liked "eco" friendly products. (but is that a silly request when you're trying to get rid of something?)

He came right away and did his job successfully. I can't think of anything that I disliked about him. He was very knowledgable and responsible and got the job done. His price seemed reasonable to me.

Their location is close to our house. They responded quickly and gave follow up services with no extra cost.

They had these good commercial rat traps, which we needed to use. They were able to catch the rats. I would use them again in the future.

Two men arrived promptly and checked in the crawl space and around the house before deciding where they would treat. They got right to work, and got it done quickly and quietly. They found no other problems, and were gone. We feel secure that the problem was taken care of.

We started using them because we had a dog. I didn’t like all of the chemical ingredients that they used for pest control. I really have appreciated their service. They come fairly promptly. Last week, we were cleaning and we took some wood out and found infestation of bugs. I called the pest guy because we sold our house and we knew there was going to be infection. They said that they were not dangerous and there won’t be any issue. They said that there was no need for them to come out. I believed that he was honest when he said that because he wasn’t going to charge me for coming out. They had been here two or three times but I don’t remember what the prices were. I think they were reasonable and competitive. I typically would call several places before I got one and I would have a sense of the price. They are great. The quality of their work has been fine. When we had ants, they left me with materials so that if they returned I needed have to call them back. They are generally here within the same day.

They were persistent and they had done a good job. They were also careful and they took a fundamental approach to try and keep the critters from coming in. I don’t remember how much they charged me for their services but I guess it was reasonable. I would use them again in the future.

We have carpenter ants and they have been bothering us for few years and we were trying to treat it. Randy the contact person for this company gave us an explanation of how the stuff worked, the application methods, deduction of where the stuff was. He was calm and knew what he was doing. He was able to diagnose the problem and took care of it and it lasted. His treatments worked and I think his explanations that he had on his web site, where he made a point of how the stuff worked helped a great deal. Price wise there was no way to compare it. We will use him in the future.

They plugged holes and set up indoor traps for a rat. I noticed a squirrel problem and he plugged up squirrel access holes. He said that he did not deal with squirrels so they are not covered in his pest control guarantee. I am not sure that the sound I heard was squirrels or rats. I don't think it was clear from his advertisement that he did not do squirrels. He told me "I am too old and too fat to crawl around for squirrels." I think that he should be very clear on that aspect. I highly recommend him for rats.

I called Randy, based on prior reviews and the description of his services. I had some sort of live pest (presumably rodent) in my attic. Randy explained that he didn't do this type of work anymore, that it was probably a squirrel, and recommended some other alternative providers. After speaking with him for a few more minutes, and explaining that I had found a rat carcass while doing some wiring work in the attic, he decided that he would take it on. Great! 10/25/2011 - Randy and his colleague arrived at my house and proceeded to inspect the inside and outside for possible points of entry and signs of pests. Overall they said everything looked solidly sealed, however they had located a single entry point outside and sealed it. They did not enter the attic or set any traps. To be honest I was skeptical that the one single entry point was the panacea to our attic guest. 11/15/2011 - Sure enough, about 2 weeks later, the scratching/gnawing sounds came back. I waited a bit to see if perhaps it was just the last death throes of whatever pest had now been sealed in our attic. Alas it continued for another week. So I gave Randy a call and without hesitation he scheduled a follow-up appointment to come back out. He and his colleague arrived again at my house and did a quick inspection of the inside and outside, determining that the original seal they had created had been circumvented by the pest. So they resealed the same entry point. This time they set a few traps in the attic as well. Since the second visit, I've not heard anything from the Attic and the traps are empty. Overall my experience with Randy and Nature First has been very positive. They solved the pest problem and they were willing to go the extra mile by making a second visit (at no extra cost). They were prompt and thorough. Had they only made the one visit, I would have said that price I paid, for the services rendered, was a bit high. But since the job required a second visit to reseal the entry point, the cost was fair.

The couple men that came out was very professional. He knew a lot about ants and different types of ants and when they would be living around my house, in my house, and outdoors. Seemed to know quite a bit about their behaviors and they were able to treat the areas accordingly and they took care of my ant problem. He was punctual and professional.

We have been living with a nest of yellow jackets in the roof eave near our front door using the premise of ignore them and they will ignore you. It worked for a while but occasionally one or two would "attack" - my husband and I were stung a number of times. After the last time, I called Randy on a Saturday. He gave me an estimate over the phone and arrived within the hour. The spray job took less than 20 minutes. The yellow jackets were not agitated by the job and continued to come and go as normal. The next morning, there was considerably less activity. Within the week, they were gone.

They arrived, sprayed and were finished within 15-20 minutes. The yellow jackets were completely gone in less than 24 hours.

Nature First Pest Control were very good and I liked them a lot. They were effective and got the job done. The employees were very professional and prompt. I would recommend their services.
