Grumpy's Drains

They were unsuccessful. He started to work and thought I had a broken pipe or cesspool so he said he couldn't do it. He was professional but couldn't get the job done.

Grumpy's showed up right on time , and when I showed them the flange/bolt problem I had ,they let me know that wasn't their area of service.They then referred me to a plumber that did that kind of work and it went very well from there.I would not hesitate to use Grumpy's based on their punctuality and abilty to refer me to a another plumber who was able to fix this particular problem.

I was doing a load of laundry and noticed my washer was draining...into my kitchen sink! It was a little after 5pm on a Sunday. I called and someone answered immediately. Advised she had no one able to look at it tonight, but first opening was Monday, around noon. She advised it is a flat rate of $115 for the first drain unclog, $30 for an additional. I scheduled the appointment. She also advised that he might be early. Monday morning, got a call around 10:45am that he was 20 mins away, could he come early? Absolutely! Showed up and went through what he thought it was. I signed the invoice for $115. He routed it out, and after two tries, the pipe cleared. Then he advised me that it might be time for a new garbage disposal (mine came with the house and I assume is about 5-6 years old), and gave me the name of the disposal I should get to minimize install issues (the same brand I have now). Also gave me the name of a product to help clear my pipes with monthly maintenance on my own, so I can avoid clogs in the future. All together, he was here for about 30-40 mins, and I am now clog-free! I will definitely recommend them to others for their flat fee service.

Our main line backed up in our lower level and we couldn't use any water. The very next morning we called and got a quick appointment. The Technician (Keith) called 30 mins prior to let us know he was on his way. He assessed the situation and began to snake the line. It was really plugged and took several times to snake the drain to clear it, all the while he explained to me how the lines work. It took about an hour and he was done. He then made sure the line worked and gave us recommendations on using enzymes (specifically how to use them) as well as what we could do in the future to prevent this from happening again. I asked him several questions during the operation and he answered politely and didn't seem to mind. His approach was professional and overall he was a very easy to talk to and work with. He did a great job getting our drains up and running at a very reasonable cost.

She found Grumpy's, who quote a flat fee, came out the same day, as I recall, and took care of the matter quickly and in friendly fashion. She was extremely pleased.

Grumpy's came less than 4 months ago and cleared the drain line from the rental house on my property. The tenant told me that dirty water was coming up in the tub when they flushed the toilet, so I called Grumpy's again. This time they suggested a power jet to clean it out, saying in old pipes sometimes there's enough gunk built up, and it sometimes takes more power. That made me think they hand't done an adequate job the first time, but what do I know. It was agreed they'd come at 10 am the next day, I gave them the address and said to go there, as I might not be home. At 9:30 they rang my doorbell. I was in bed asleep, as it was my only day to sleep in for two weeks, and it was a half hour early, besides. I sent the man next door where he ran water into the pipe at high pressure. He called me on the phone to say he couldn't get it cleared, and that his work went as far as the septic tank which seemed to be full, so I'd better get the septic tank pumped. He gave me the name of a reputable septic company. When Westside Drain came out, it took us a little while to find the septic tank lid, but we did, and it was an easy bit of shoveling to uncover it. It was mostly full, but not really full, and they pumped it. Inside the house, the sewage was still not draining, so they went onto the roof and cleared the pipe by accessing it from the roof vent. Two things they explained to me. 1) this is going to keep happening because the drain pipe underground is old and collapsing, and 2) to unclog the pipe you have to go through the roof vent. That means Grumpy's didn't do it right and I paid them to do what Westside came and did for less money, AND I had the septic tank pumped prematurely. I'm not happy about all that. I will be deciding how soon to get the pipe replaced by Westside Drains, who gave me a bid on it, and when I need the drain cleaned out again, I will not call Grumpy's, I will call Westside. They charge a little less, and were helpful, informative and treated me like I'm not stupid. In fact, one of the workers, Victor, was a master of analogy, so his explanations were excellent. It is not clear to me how a homeowner is supposed to know who to call if the people you call also don't know.

The fellow who came out was professional and friendly. He got right to work and was done in a few minutes.

It was a great experience and exceeded my expectations.

We had a sewer drain back-up problem. Even though their schedule was completely filled for the day, they added us to the list and even arrived earlier than estimated. Keith was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and upbeat. He was thorough and explained what he was doing and gave us good advice. Great job. Thanks.

It was a beautiful day, I was making plans to go out with the wife, so as soon as she took a shower I noticed that the water was not flowing down the shower drain and I asked her but she said it was working just fine a few minutes ago? Well I try to fix it, myself and with a wire I took out lots of hair but the shower drain was still clogged. I thought well I am a smart guy, so I can do this and turned on my computer and went to Utube to find any ?Show me how? videos to help me but none of them work for me. Plus who wants to spend time fixing a drain on such a nice day? No homeowner only the pros-who get paid for it. After a frustrated attempt to do it myself, I decided to call the professionals. I went into my account with Angie?s list where I found this great business that had great reviews and decided to call them. The lady who answered the phone was friendly and despite the fact that we are located out of their service area. She said Keith can help me with the job but I would have to pay 20.00 extra and he would be at my house in 2 to 3 hours. I did not mind the 20.00 extra because it was a Saturday and I wanted a solution to the problem. Not even an hour went by and I got a phone call that he was at my house. I told him we had gone to the store thinking that he was going to be there in 2 hours. But it?s nice when they are prompt and punctual. Keith was very professional and he was able to fix the problem (almost a ½ pound of wife?s hair later) of the shower drain and the wife?s sink; the problem is solved and I am glad I called Grumpys Drains.

Although I have not used Grumpy's recently, I hired them on two occasions. Both times they were professional from the time I called right through the completion of service. Nice company to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They stand behind their word and their service. Thanks Grumpy!

Friendly, professional service from the first phone call to the completion of work. Arrived to do the work on a Saturday about an hour after I called. Work completed fast and efficient, cleaned up after. Even extended an extra 5% discount off the quoted price because the job was easier than expected.

Was treated with a friendly and attentive voice on the other end of the phone and Rita scheduled an appointment for the same day. Keith showed up less than a half an hour later and performed the necessary work quickly, politely and with some recommendations and good advice for the future. I hope not to have to, but would use them again and would recommend them.

Rental house on our property had a clogged kitchen drain pipe. Efforts to unclog it with a snake didn't work. Called Grumpy's Drains and they sent someone out. Since this was a renter, Grumpy's took payment over the phone by credit card, and we agreed that if there was anything more than a simple unclog job, the worker would call me for an okay. Grumpy's arrived early, which wasn't a problem for the renter. Since the first clog, the bathroom drain had begun to drain slowly, too. I got a phone call about unclogging that one, too. With my okay, the second drain was unclogged and that was that. It was a smooth arrangement, no problems.

Shortly after buying my house, my old drain pipes clogged from using the garbage disposal. I tried to snake without results. These people came promptly and had excellent manners. While unclogging the drains ( the tub backed up, too), they advised me on prevention strategies, and I have not had to call them back in nearly a year. It was a pleasant experience all around.

We were very happy with the service from Grumpy's. We got a very sluggish drain cleaned out the same day we called and had three other drains, a couple of them slow, cleaned, as well. The service was performed on the same day we called. Keith came out earlier than he had expected, after calling to make sure it was alright with us. Keith was very knowledgable and professional. He did everything we expected and gave some helpful tips. We would use Grumpy's again.

Took advantage of an Angie's List special - four drains for $149. I called and got a convenient appointment for the next day. Keith arrived right on time. He cleared our kitchen, bathtub and drains, plus one toilet. We had wanted a bathroom sink cleared, but he was concerned about working with the rusty plumbing under the sink. I'm glad he pointed that out to me; much better than finding out the hard way. He instead gave me an enzyme treatment to use in that sink to treat the clog. It was a very good experience overall - friendly, efficient, and effective. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for more drain problems.

Found their site on Angie's list which offered a great deal on 4 drains so I called. Got scheduled right away and had a very friendly conversation in the process. They were running a bit early and called me to see if it was ok to come sooner which was fine. I showed them the 4 drains and they got right to work. When finished, made a few helpful recommendations. All drains were flowing great but they said the shower had a large piece of plastic lodged in the pipe. They tried hard to get it out but were unable to. Still, it drains much better now. Will definitely have them back and highly recommend them! Great at what they do and the farthest you could get from "grumpy"!

This job was done and our downspout no longer is blocked (it drains into a pipe into the ground). This is great and what we wanted. The disappointment was that the price was for only one downspout/drain and that it only took 8 minutes to complete the job. Not exactly cost effective for me. The only other complaint was the debris that was cleaned from the downspout was left on the walkway/drive way. I was told this was done so I could see what was clogging the drain. I don't think this was necessary. Otherwise, Grumpy's was on time, professional, and did the job.

I misunderstood what the downspout was, however, Grumpy's Drains were more than willing to accomodate my need for the gutters to be cleaned. They carefully disassembled the gutters to flush out the gutter drains thoroughly.

Clogged my drain on Thanksgiving. Called up Grumpy's and they were on it. Fast and efficient.
