+ -1 moreI called one other locksmith first, but their working hours were so limited that I decided to check with East Portland Locksmith. Vern was so nice when I made the appointment and scheduled the rekey for the next day. Lee and his grandson (or was it nephew?) came right on time and rekeyed the doors and were very nice and helpful. I was completely comfortable having them in my home. I'll use them every time in the future. Great customer service!
Description of Work: Rekeyed two doors to use the same key and left four keys.

+ -1 moreThe owner (Vern) diagnosed the problem over the phone. He made an appointment for the next day. The locksmith was there at the exact time of the appointment and fixed the lock.
Description of Work: I had a lock that worked intermittently. It turned out that part of the latch was broken. The locksmith put in a new latch.

+ -1 moreEast Portland Locksmith has done work on our house(s) over the years and they are wonderful. Vern and Lee and the rest of the staff are total pros and I would recommended them (and do) to anyone wanting experienced lock experts to do the job right.
Description of Work: The most recent work performed by East Portland Locksmith was 7/8/06. They replaced several locks, re-keying them uniformly so now we only have to deal with one key for the main house.

Description of Work: I had them rekey a lock and a deadbolt and supply 4 keys. They did it while I waited in about 10 minutes.

+ -1 moreVern has been in the locksmith business for 54 years. He knows all there is to know about locks and keys, and he has a gigantic inventory of key blanks at his shop. If you have a key or lock problem, don't bother wasting your time anywhere else!
Description of Work: Lost the key to my metal paint storage cabinet during a move. Had only a similar key that fit into the lock, but would not open it. The owner, Vern Standley, took the time to hunt up a large handful of similar, 'anonymous', keys, and let me take them home to try for fit. I was lucky, and several of the keys actually fit. I gave him the rest of his keys back, and paid him $5 for three working keys which would have otherwise been remelted--he only asked for $2.00. I thought this kind of interaction was remarkable in this day and age .Any other locksmith would have charged for a home visit plus making the keys.
