Critter Control

I had issues with skunk smells and animals around/under the house at night . I called Critter Control and they sent out Kevin the same day, he took a thorough look around and under the house and gave me the news of the various critters which were residing under my house, and the damage that had been done, he was friendly, polite and knowledgeable, even laughed at my jokes! Traps were set to catch as many critters as possible over a week or so, and once there was no sign of critters going under the deck/house/shed work was started on critter proofing the areas . Three guys came to do fixing of the vents and the installation of the rat wall around the deck, they were all friendly and nice and worked very efficiently to get the installation done, since it required digging up all around the base of the deck they did take time to minimise as much as possible any lawn/garden damage and did a good job of cleaning up when they were done. The shed rat wall installation was also done . The clean up in the crawlspace was a major job, originally it was thought we'd have to replace the majority of the insulation under the house but the guys took a good look at it and decided we could save the majority of it thereby saving me a lot of money, which i greatly appreciated, they also cleaned out the "debris" and removed and replaced all the plastic sheeting under the house . The crawlspace entry is in the back bedroom closet of the house, they spent a lot of time making sure my carpets, walls etc were protected. I really appreciated their enthusiam, professionalism and the care they took in all they did .

On 6/7/2011 i discovered that a family of raccoons was living in the crawlspace under the front of my house and front porch. There was a mother and three young raccoons. Access was gained through the vent in concrete whose screen had been compromised. I checked Angies list and called two service providers and decided to have Critter Control come out the next morning to remove animals. Technician, Joe Alvarez, arrived on time and gave me an overview of the service he could provide - either trap animals or "scare them off" with predator urine. I chose the "scare" tactic, but when Joe inspected the area he found the raccoons had moved on (probably due to their disturbance the day before). Joe completely inspected the area and secured the two openings to the basement with heavy screening material. The estimate for clean-up and repair from Critter Control was very expensive and I decided to handle that on my own.

An animal strong enough to pull the mesh out of the foundation vents was obviously residing in the crawl space of my house. The technician, a very brave soul, crawled under the house, knowing that there was likely a racoon waiting for him. He scared the mother racoon out of the crawlspace and went back in and extracted her litter. If you are a sucker for adorable baby animals, don't look at the screaching litter when they remove them, just focus on how much this little escapade is costing. After placing predator urine soaked cotton in the crawlspace, he set a have-a-heart trap and left. He said that the mother raccoon would be back several times to check for her missing babies. When she found them gone, she would possibly go into the trap. It is your responsibility to monitor the trap or pay them to monitor the trap, so do not start the process unless you are prepared to check the trap daily or pay them to check the trap. When evidence showed that she was no longer returning to the crawl space, then for a fee, they could close up and re-enforce the vents. She stopped coming back after a week. She never went into the trap. We chose to re-inforce our own vents with hardware cloth.

He was quick, responsive, professional, and took care of the problem. We are looking forward to working with him in the future to help secure our house from animals that have invaded our basement. We will report on that separately.

They seem to be doing their job. I was waiting for a while and the rats are back so I need to give them a call again. They were trying to find how it's happening. They walked around to check. Anytime I call them for a service, they come around and recheck. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was a good service. They took care of the problem in a reasonable amount of time. The quality is fine keeping in mind the nature of the issue. They were responsive and what they were doing was effective. I would use them again in the future.

It went very well. They came back several times to kill the rest of the moles. They keep coming back and continue to trap moles. It’s been so far so good.

I didn't use Critter Control Company because they were too expensive. However, they were very helpful over the phone. They told us how to draw them away from the yard. They basically suggested self help. They are very knowledgeable. I would probably not contact them in the future because of their price.

We have signed an annual contract with them and they come out every two months for pest control services. They are mostly here for the ants and they do a good job. They are easy to work with. It seems reasonable to pay the price that they ask.

they set traps for moles and above ground critters. No moles were trapped. Above ground traps were sprung several times. Each time we called the service and they were promptly removed.

We thought we had a squirrel in our attic. Called and spoke to a courteous person. Company rep explained that it would be necessary to set a (havahart) trap on our roof to trap the squirrel, and that many traps might have to be set since there were so many squirrels in the neighborhood. I know -- this sounds sort of silly! The rep who came to the house did not walk into our attic or investigate the interior. He did find a place that had enough of an opening that a squirrel may have been able to get in. Everyone was courteous and friendly but -- long story short -- so long as you set a trap with peanuts in it on a roof, you will trap a squirrel ... squirrels love peanuts and aren't smart enough to avoid a trap. The co. charged several hundred dollars for the initial visit, and then $25 per trapped squirrel, which they come and take away. After at least ten days of squirrels being caught and taken away, we realized this was a fool's paradise (because it could have gone on indefinitely) and called a stop to it. We ended up having the opening re-blocked by our own contractor; this co's rep had stuffed it with some sort of paper, which any squirrel worth a hill of beans would have easily breached.

Excellent...they were prompt, efficient and didn't hurt the animals.

very well. they were professional and timely and generally thorough; however they did not locate all areas of entry initially and needed to be called back to seal up another hle under the roof. very polite and responsive. not cheap but it's tough work.

They were punctual professional and easy and very hands off. They did catch a neighborhood cat by accident and they came out and took care of it with no problems.

We were very pleased with the service that we recieved from Critter Control. We called for an estimate, they described briefly to us what to expect, the came out the next day, put the trap out and almost a week later, the first squirrel was caught. They were very responsive when it came time to emptying the trap as well - even when we had to call them back 2 extra times due to birds jumping into the trap. Long story short, we had a total of 3 squirrels and all were caught after a period of almost 4 weeks.

The guy who came out was very nice. He set a trap for the mole. He comes out and provides service for a month. So he comes until the problem resolves and you have to pay about $100 a month. It wasn’t expensive. There was another mole right till the end, but he came out to take care of that too which was really nice.

Things did not go great. I don’t believe they ever caught any because they never told us that they caught any. Originally, we signed a one month contract but there were some issues; they didn’t come out to check the traps as long as they said they were going to. They extended our contract to six weeks because of that. They came one day to remove the traps and that was the last that we heard of them. I think the price was okay but I don't recall what it was.

In general, I was very happy with the services performed by Critter Control. They were professional, responsive, prompt, and friendly. I do have one complaint, but I can't say for sure that it was the fault of Critter Control. They had trapped several squirrels already, and gave me their opinion that there were no more squirrels in my attic. I wasn't convinced, so I monitored the situation for several days afterwards. Sure enough, I noticed more squirrel activity. I had to call them back, and one or two more squirrels were trapped. I'm glad that I was extra vigilant. Otherwise, they would have closed up the access hole while there were still squirrels in my attic. That would have been a bad situation.

They were very professional and communicated well. My son was napping while they were in the attic and they were really quiet so that was nice.

They are great. I have used them several times for my ongoing issue, and they are fabulous. Should I have evidence of any other activity, I will certainly use them again.

Awesome service! Our crawl space was a mess with raccoon waste and torn up walls and insulation. Team had to survey the situation and figure out exactlly how the raccoons were getting in (turns out it was via more than one entrance via vents, unbeknownst to us), how many there were, then trap them (some were smarter than others). When we thought all the animals were caught, the Critter Control guys told us that we unfortunately had not. They were right! The juveniles were caught, but mom (?) later returned and had to be outsmarted. All animals caught with "feral cat cages" in a humane way and were then relocated. Critter Control then completelly cleaned up the crawl space and secured all the vent doors with plywood reinforced with rebar - to make them raccoon-proof. The team was incredibly responsive, professional, and ingenious. It was clear that they had excellent experience; nothing fazed them.

They came out and did everything that was required. However, we just don’t like the results, so far. They weren’t willing to climb up into the tight spot, in order to find out what the problem could be. We can’t comment on their price, since we haven’t compared it to that of anyone else. We are unsure if we will ever use them again.

My husband was trying to go the job on his own. They came out and took care of the mice very efficiently. They were very nice.
