Master Sweep

All work was done as per our specifications and on time.

We had just moved in and didn't want to use the fireplace in this 40 year old house without having it checked out. They did a fine job & gave us some tips for future maintenance.

Second time using Angie’s big deal. Took a bit to make appointment but understandable as it’s a good deal. Recommended a new cap but didn't have one which was disappointing. Giving such a good deal you would think they would have some things on the truck, like an extra cap to sell you.

He came out and told us we didn't need the service because the chimney was in disrepair. He was professional, on time, very honest, considerate, and caring. He was wanting to keep us safe and not take our money.

This company is great! They went far above and beyond what I expected. Knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I'd recommend this service to anyone needing chimney maintenance. What a pleasure!

Jason called and said they were running ahead of schedule and asked if they could come early. I appreciated the call, and the timing worked out well. Our chimney was in definite need of a cleaning as we are heavy users of the fireplace in the winter months and it had been much too long since our last cleaning. Even so, the 2-man team was in and out in just under an hour. Jason was very nice and gave me some tips to keeping the fireplace well maintained between cleanings, which I appreciated. He then recommended a reasonable cleaning schedule based on what I told him our useage is. We'll definitely call Master Sweep again when it's time for our next cleaning. I gave them a "B" for responsiveness as it was a little difficult to get the appointment in the first place. We left a message one morning and after 24 hours hadn't received a call back. Sent an e-mail with our phone number indicating that we were waiting for a response and got one that afternoon from the scheduler. Once we were in touch with her it was easy to get a time.

They were excellent. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again if needed.

Prompt response. After appointment recommended a cap, but never called back about it. I was not going to get it, but he did say he would call. The work done on chimney was neat and well done.

It went well. The dryer vent is fairly long and has a 90 degree bend at the ceiling, but with some coaxing and work they were able to get it cleaned out. They were prompt and finished as quickly as could be expected. Note that this was an Angies List Deal, so the normal price for these services might have been higher.

The Master Sweep owner (forgot his name at the moment) was punctual, professional, did a thorough examination of my chimney, swept it clean and pointed out to me areas that require follow-up. His advice was helpful and he wasn't trying to give a hard-sell or use scare tactics. I plan on going with Master Sweep for follow-up care for some of the issues he pointed out in the chimney that the company I'd used prior to this hadn't mentioned to me.

The guy who came out (I forget his name) was really nice and really honest. He was super professional and considerate. Definitely worth it.

Representative arrived and checked out the wood stove first, layed down blanket, brought in shop vac. Then climbed up his ladder to the top of the chimney, removed the cap, and brushed out the entire chimney. He then came in and vacuumed up all of the dust in and around the wood stove. When he went back up to put the cap back on the chimney top, he even cut back some branches that were hanging too close to the chimney. This was over and above what he was there for. Very impressive. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Master Sweep came in January of 2012 and provided a chimney sweep and estimate for other services to be done during the summer. I was pleased with their professionalism, services, and estimate at that time. Then, in early August, I scheduled Master Sweep to come again later in August to do the remaining chimney repair work. Not only did they not show up on the appointed day or time, but they didn't return two phone messages seeking to reschedule. Since then, I have tried calling the office on several occasions and have reached only a recorded message. It seems like this was a great business that suddenly became terribly unresponsive. I really wonder what happened.

Great - they were on time, professional, explained everything, did a thorough job, and were out of there in less than 2 hours.

These guys were great. They discovered that my damper was open and instructed me on how to use it properly. They were impeccably clean and also put some sealant around the chimney flashing at no charge. I would definitely hire them again.

I was very satisfied with the owner who was the one who came out. He very knowledgeable & patient. He was very pleasant & answered any questions & concerns I had very thoroughly. He was also very responsive & came out within of being contacted.

Called last week,lft Voicemail, he called back and set up 2:30pm appt for Monday 7/16.. DIDN'T show, and DIDN'T CALL. I called about 7:30 last night but still haven't heard back.

They recognized me when I came to the door. They remembered coming to my house before when I didn't remember. I have a very light carpet and the job was done immaculately. They didn't leave a mark of any kind, and that's a messy job.

Jason arrived promptly and was very efficient and knowledgeable. We don't use the fire place, but the previous owners did, so it was fairly dirty. Jason got right in there, cleaned up and checked for flow. When he was finished, the area was very clean. He performed a dryer vent clean as well. He told us that he would put us on a scheduled maintenance plan, alerting us every three years or so to have our dryer vent cleaned. We will definitely call him for any future chimney or dryer vent matters.

Master Sweep is expensive and I'm not sure it was necessary for them to do the work for the chimney I don't use. Master Sweep is very difficult to get a hold of. There is no one to talk to directly when you call so it can be days before they get back to you. When I did get in touch with them, they hadn't made the chase cover yet. When they put one of the chase covers on, something fell down the chimney, so they had to come back. Also, when Master Sweep put the chase covers on it was raining so water came down into one of the chimneys, into the stones, and onto the floor so to this day I worry about if water has gotten down into the wood part of the roof causing dry wrought. I just didn't feel good about it at all and I wouldn't use them again.

Everything well when they swept the chimney. They put booties on and made sure to clean everything up. They tried to sell me a part for the top of the chimney, so I gave them a $200 down payment for that. Months and months went by and nothing ever happened. I finally called them and they gave me my money back right away. They should have called me back though. I won't know about the quality of the work until I have a fire.
