Description of Work: Fireplace and chimney cleaning was professionally and skillfully accomplished but dryer cleaning was never performed, though paid for. Tried to sell me extraordinarily overpriced repair for dryer outlet clean out that later took me 5 minutes to fix myself . He promised to return, then completely ignored my many phone calls. Simply would not answer any calls I cannot believe Angie's List should still recommend this service in view of my experience. Suggest that you take him off your list

Description of Work: Originally signed up for a cleaning through a coupon that AL offered. Upon initial cleaning/inspection he informed us that a cleaning was not needed. Our chimney's were not dirty enough to warrant it. he did have some suggestions for repairs and we highlighted the more important repairs. He applied the initial costs already paid, to the repair costs and completed the repairs a week later. Very fair, very friendly, very professional. We are very satisfied and would gladly recomend this cimpany. I would only advise him to make it easier to contact him. A+ service.

Description of Work: First he checked the chimney an found it was clean and had a good liner. He also looked at the fire box. I knew that was bad. He offered to rebuild it and I was game and would have paid for it but my elderly friend that lives in the house did not want the activity and disruption in the house so we had to put it off for now. We did have him install a chimney cap to keep the rain out.

Description of Work: Jason inspected the chimneys, then informed me there wasn't a chimney cap which was allowing the rain (which we get a lot of in Portland) to run down and recommended installing one. Fortunately, he had the applicable materials and installed after cleaning my 2 chimneys. He did a great job!! Efficient!!

Description of Work: Jason cleaned the dryer vents and swept the chimney. He also found that one vent was totally disconnected. He made the repair and cleaned up all the lint blown all over under the unit, at no addition charge. Whew, this was a fire hazard! The other units vent was put in incorrectly and was blocked! No lit is exiting the unit. Another hazard! He is coming back out for that repair. The exterior of the chimney's need normal maintenance work. One has broken interior fire brick that needs replaced. I am defiantly using Jason for these repairs. Can't beat the prices or his work!

Description of Work: The gentleman cleaned and checked by chimney and wood stove. I needed a 'leaf/rain cap' on the chimney and he did have one in stock which he put on the chimney. He said everything looked really good and offered to call me in two years to set up another appointment for cleaning and checking the wood stove and chimney.

Description of Work: They not only swept my chimney and explained what they were doing and why, but had to remove the entire fireplace insert. When they heard I was replacing it with a gas fireplace, they taped up the fireplace hole so air wouldn't come through. They were great !

Description of Work: Checked and cleaned chimney and dryer vent. Each step of the work Jason examined, explained and gave an overview of the condition of the various parts of the chimney from roof to living room to ground level. For the dryer vent he checked carefully from the dryer though the piping to the outlet in a hard-to-reach area under the deck. His description of the condition of all the things he examined was extremely informative and definitely consistent with the concerns I had given that the house is old and had not been perfectly maintained by the previous owner. The work he did was excellent and included a spotless cleanup. He also recommended tuck pointing repair after discovering moisture damage on the inside of the chimney. This too spoke directly to an issue I knew might arise as I had had some very stopgap pointing done two years before. Beyond Jason's fine work there is the fact that he inspires a good deal of confidence and trust. His knowledge, demeanor, lack of any pretense all make him an exceptional person.

Description of Work: We hired Master Sweep to remove an old wood burning stove insert from our fireplace and to inspect our chimney. They also cleaned our dryer vent. Upon inspection, we ended up needing a new damper/chimney cap, so that increased our cost from the original estimate, but it didn't come as a surprise.
